I'm just curious here... all the screenies I've seen of Lightsabers have stated the damage is Kinetic...

Does this make sense to anyone?

I'll prolly get flamed for this (by non Jedi of course), but shouldn't there be a seperate damage type for Lightsabers only? I mean, they cut through everything with relative ease (except Cortosis Ore, and that crazy Lava beast Luke had to fight in the EU... there might be one or two other things a saber couldn't cut through, but I can't recall). I mean, take a Rancor for instance.. it has like, Kinetic resist 60% or something doesn't it? There's some critters out there with crazy Kinetic Resists, and thusa LS might be kinda useless against them. And Rancors have like, Med armor.

Now I know that Creatures are getting resists and Armor changed in the future, but that's not the point here.

By that same rate, shouldn't a Saber do Heavy Armor Piercing?

Maybe the later sabers do that kind of AP (Like, Jedi Knight and Master, but since nobody is there yet, we dunno).

Just a suggestion for future changes.. there are more important things that need fixing right now...

And no, I don't have a Jedi character unlocked.

I would like to see how a KINETIC weapon (ie uses the force of moving solid things) can burn through a door like quy gon(sp) did in episode 1

Ps, it's funny how Kunga Rockshapers (almost naked guys) have 100% kinetic resist, thus 100% lightsaber resist

Well, I do try. And I support the idea of a secret forum for people who have unlocked their FS slot... just makes sense to REALLY de-bug the FS slot.. I mean, 95% of the stuff in the Jedi forums as is isn't related to things occuring WITHIN the professions, just on how to go about unlocking it.

You don't have to be a dumb ass to a simple suggestion. If you like cartoons fine I don't need to hear about it. I am just trying to suggest a solid alternative to the hugely flawed Kenetic dmg that lightsaber have. So lets grow up a bit and offer constructive criticism... unless you haven't grown up then continue being a kid the big bad world will wait for you.

Plasmo? I wasn't aware that Lightsaber blades were made out of the same thing that stars are. Perhaps leave it as it is because SOE is too lazy to recode all the armor into have *another* type of resistance?

I heard once that lightsabers do mulitple types of damage but only kinetic shows up on examine. If that's the case then the Devs should let us see all the types.

If its only kinetic though then the Devs are just being lazy because lightsabers are not swords for god sakes. They burn and create smoke so I assume they would do some heat damage. They also create a similar burn to blaster bolts so I think they would cuase energy damage as well. Oh and Plasma is energy damage I think.

And for the ghost busters guy. LOL dude the sun is made of plasma and gasyou moron.

Kinetic is fine. The game understands it and it's pretty balanced. There is no way they would change it now.

Sabers should be able to piece armor 3, though. There are some mobs that are 100% kinetic resists, and it's ok if you can't kill them, but maybe they should just drop to 90%?

Lightning is the most common form of plasma on earth. Although plasma is not very common.

I suggested plasma (or lightning {form of plasma}) because it most closely resembles what a lightsaber appears to be.

Plasma could also be referred to as "ionized gas" so come to whatever conclusion you want.

I knew that already. Also, next time you try to flame me, try not to contradict yourself.

Correction: 99% of our universe is not plasma. 99% of the known matter in our universe is. A large portion of our universe is a 'black matter', which no one knows what it is made of.

Perhaps Lightsabers could stay as they are (as I previously suggested), or be made into Electrum damage, seeing as how (in the EU) Master Jedi use Electrum crystals in construction of their lightsaber? Truth is no one knows what the lightsaber blade is made of, so to try and call it something specific would make it unfit for continuity.

He did not contradict himself. He said that most of the UNIVERSE is made of plasma. We live on one planet in the universe and most of the plasma that exsists does not exsist on earth therfore it is not common for a being of earth to come in contact with it.

Sure lightning is plasma but it makes up such a small part of the total amount of plasma (less than 1%) that it really doesn't count for much.
