MLS/Enh 3402/Def 4040/Healer 4000 better

I would not say it is better and if it is better please at least give an explanation as to why you think it is. I started with that template and dropped Force Armor for 4440 Defender and I like it much better for my style of gaming. There is no "best" template, it really all depends on your style of gameplay.

cool, I was thinking the bonus of root/improved force speed, plus extra heals more than makes up for the loss of 1 line in defender/ (was previously 3000 healer 0002 enhancer, so 1500 heals would be nice )

Told ya time and again that you'll miss root and force run/speed in PvP Finally some sense in ya. You will love MLS, 4x4x Def, 34x2 Enhancer, 4xxx healer.

lol the urge to get suppression/force speed has been growing lately pretty sure I'm going to switch when server is up, I have all the xp that I need for it banked.

My tp is mls, def 444x, enhancer 3xx2, healer 4xxx and it is a good all round template. I pvp alot and it is a very succesful tp. I did swap to enhancer 4xx3 ,def 434x but i hated fr2 lost a few duels because i forgot to turn fr2 off. Pvp is so much better with fr1 on all the time. You cant stay at the front line tanking in pvp with this tp for too long, but it can take some punishment till help arrives (just make sure you got a good supply of steak)

I did have mls, def 4x4x, enhancer 3xx2 , healer 4x4x but I didnt think sap was worth the skill points and I did notice the difference in the innate armour from losing the ranged def tree.

Currently grinding to mls, def 4x4x enhancer 34x2, healer 4xxx mainly because i am gonna go to mls, mehancer, healer 4xx4 and cba to grind all in 1 go.

I have found tho that i do get carried away sometimes and think im a tank only to end up incapped or db'ed but over all it is a good tp to play.

I have the feature of the month right now mls enh 34x2 , except I have sap instead of melee def 3.... i must say that in pvp, it's not as good as I had hoped. the force cost is brutal ( if the fight comes to force costs, i always lose). The mind cost to use sap is tough. Yes, Sap does slow their combat rounds down; however, I feel that i can slow their combat rounds down a different way and not have such a mind cost. I'm going to try intim. for the 20% reduction. This means that I get one more hit than they do, and put them on the defensive first. I'm also taking out FA2 and going up the melee tree.

I'm going

mls

def 3x4x

heal 4xxx

enh 3xx2

pow xx2x

I am currently MLS/DEF 4440/ENH 3002/HEALER 4000 and to be honest I feel like a mediocre melee temp and nothing more.

Logic and consensus opinion dictated that this is a "good allaround template", however, it strikes me as being not particularly good at anything template. There is no defining or gee whiz skills, everything you can do with this template can be done better by some other.

-You aren't the best tank, TKM's and MDefs are better.

-You don't do a whole lot more damage per second than a LS dabbler (fixing modified speed would change this, but currently only a very tiny advantage w/ MLS)

-You have what I would consider the minimum skillset of enhancer skills, handy for crowd control but you aren't the best at that either.

-You have the best healing a full template can have without wasting skillpoints on more healer.

Don't get me wrong this template does not suck and can handle a lot of situations but it just doesn't seem to excel anywhere.

Well, I'm close to that. I am...

MLS/Def 4340/Enha 4002/Healer 4000

And I REALLY ENJOY IT!! You get quite a bit of defender which doesn't use force and is nice in pve and pvp. And those 1500 heals are amazing no matter who you're up against. I highly recommend it. I thought about changing to 4040 def and getting 3402 enhancer....but I hear the Force used in FA2 is high.....and I just like having the ability to run like the wind.

This template (along with two variants listed here) is one of the most well rounded, do it all template you can find.

You get:

Strong offense

Strong defense

Strong healing

The essential utility skills (root, snare, run, speed, channel)

You can perform well in battlefield or 1 on 1 pvp, as well as do wonders in pve.

Definately one of the best saber / combat oriented Jedi builds out there.

Ive been bouncing around with these three templates for some time now: (all were mentioned in previous posts)

1- Master sabers / 4440 Defender / 4000 Healer / 3002 Enhancer

2- Master sabers / 4040 Defender / 4000 Healer / 3402 Enhancer

3- Master sabers / 4040 Defender / 4040 Healer / 3002 Enhancer

Number 1 - Well rounded and strong in most areas with good longevity

Number 2 - Adding force armor will give you defenses on par, if not better then, a master defender... but force management becomes an issue. Youre trading improved defense for lower longevity.

Number 3 -Adding sap increases how much you can bork up your foe and hopefully shorten the fight...usefulness pretty much restricted to one on one situations. Youre trading lower defense with increased offense.

Except for the lone bounty hunter visit or the occasional duel, Im always fighting more then one person at a time, so number three was put to the wayside for me.

Being that, in large scale, drawn out pvp battles, and with the CM/BHs out there whos strategy is to outlast you, you need to be able to last... and force regen is currently bugged...number one becomes the choice for me. Although number two is REALLY strong and everyone will think youre a master defender when they cant hit you for more then 200 damage....

My TK friend and myself smash Necrosis regularly with relative ease (now if only we could fight him more then once per 30 minutes we'd be set haha)

My template is very close to this and its great for both pvp and pve. Very flexible with good offense, good defence and lost of other nice options. You can't really go wrong with this temp.

About the 3402 enh version. Yes you get alot of defense but as soon as your armorbreaked force armor does little to nothing at all whatsoever and you still have the FC on it. People either forget this or dont know it.

Im currently that version myself and I'm definately changing it to either menh (when and ifi get my saber to a satisfied level) or 4440 def. Imo it is not worth it.

How do you like this temp? Good for all around pvp and pve for the most part? Is it giving you enough force (channel helping) and does it provide enough Defense?

Great all around temp IMO.

  • Root

  • Snare

  • Channel

Currently i have;

mls/ 4040healer/ 3002enh/ 4040defender

Here's how i see it.... Sap is worthless in pve. In pvp it's effects is practicallynegated by average foods alone. Force spd is much better than force drain, imo. The time used to drain is better used for damage, and force spd should help with that. I don't care what anyone else says, but master ls is still a must for pvp. Specially if you are lucky enough to have good pearls. My acc alone is over 250, and if you don't already know, acc is a big plus to have in pvp. Even though i have 4040 defender, i'm a horrible tank. Which is whyi'm taking the --4- healer tree and investing those points into one of these 2 templates;

1- Master sabers / 4440 Defender / 4000 Healer / 3002 Enhancer

2- Master sabers / 4040 Defender / 4000 Healer / 3402 Enhancer

Tp1 gives 34 innate armor+ 20 from padawan for a total of 54 innate armor. With the right fs skill boxes, it'll also give 160 range def, and 170 melee def (with aura that's 660 range, 670 melee). Ignoring defense, from what i understand about the new armor stats, 54 innate equals 44.82% damage reduction (equation is 60 * (AR/10000) + { [ (10000 - AR) / 10000 ] * (AR/200) }).

If you have 4k hp (food+spice) roughly, and a BH hits for 1k every shot. You'll take 551.8 damage a shot, incapping youin 7.249 shots.

Tp2 give 22 innate armor + 20 from padawan (42) plusimprov force armor which is 40 (stats from jedi faq)= totals82 innate armor. Ignoring defense,82 armor equals 56.58% damage reduction (equation is 60 * (AR/10000) + { [ (10000 - AR) / 10000 ] * (AR/200) }). If you have 4k hp (food+spice) roughly, and a BH hits for 1k every shot. You'll take 434.2 damage a shot, incapping you in 9.212 shots. Each shot would cost you 34.736 force per shot, total of 319.988 force for those 9.212 shots.

So the questionis, is320 force worth living another 1.963 shots?

If you healed once it adds 1500 hp to your base (in theory) totals=5500....

(Template2) making it 12.666 shots to incap, costing 469.988 force

(Template1) making it 9.967 shots to incap, costing only 150 force

Add another heal of 1500 giving in theory 7000 hp........

(Template2) making it 16.121 shots to incap, costing 619.988 force

(Template1) making it 12.685 shots to incap, costing 300 force

You can quickly see that with force armor, you practically double the force cost used to survive a meager 4 more shots. I believe my math is right. Any objections?
