Pointless discussion. XP is so easy to gain back that losing it shouldn't be that big a deal. Whatever you lose to a BH can be gained back in pretty much a day or 2. Alot of the hardships faced by jedi have been removed, with basically the only one, apart from the pearl issue, being BH's. Many jedi, like myself, actually find it fun and exciting to be chased by a BH. Many others don't care one way or the other.

Its been stated from the beginning that beiing a jedi was a risk filled profession. The reward is you get a second character as well as being using all the skills jedi have. Honestly, anyone who thinks losing xp to a BH is a gamebreaker needs to cancel right now and play something else. Its the most unique feature of this game, setting it apart from all the others out there.

If you think its pointless then don't post here, you do no one any good by flaming.

Secondly, yes Jedi is a risk filled profession its the only profession that forces you to PvP and get killed. Getting killed is enough of "risk" in my opinion. The game has been around long enough for the early "casual gamers" tofinally almost get done with their jedi. People need to realize that this is a GAME, not a way of life. If you spend 4 hours a day gaming everyday AND have a job you basically sacrifice all of your personal RL time. I don't think anyone wants to spend a friday night grinding xp right after work am I right?

BTW, it was never stated that Bounty Hunting was part of a jedi hardship in the manual. Also, I wouldn't mind being hunted for xp lossif it took a group of six to take me down like the old days, with as powerful as jedi are currently (which depending on template can easily get taken out by a single BH) xp is a waste and just aggrevates more people. IMO, you would have alot less angry jedi if this were removed... and that leads to less nerf calling and flaming.

Please tell me your "risks" now...

You have one- BH loss upon death (While grinding to full template) -- Let me know if there is more... I missed it if so.. Im from the last 4 old systems... so please tell me.

(note: Death happens to all toons and profs in game so just the term "death" is actully part of the game as a whole).

(Oh and for the part about the BH hunting , actully they did send a email telling you this when you unlocked, however since patch 10 I think they stopped sending it). It does tell you there is risk and hardships... so actully until further info I think that still holds or tries to.

JEDI:

- Do you beleive the BH system currently is effectively stopping the growth of jedi (as intended) ?

no it is not but that hs not any to with the BH

- If XP loss was removed would you feel as much "tension" when losing to a BH ?

yes i would i hate to die against a BH or any one by that matter

- If this occured do you beleive the grind would now be "too easy", "just right", or still "too hard" ?

atm it is to easy to get xp so if the xp loss be removed it will be even easier wich is wrong

but eitherway how hard it is to get jedi is not all about xp and xp loss it should be diffrent quest wich is hard to complate

- Does XP loss now (or even when grinding) make you "show off" less ?

no i dont show of at all i try to stay hidden if i can only show my saber or jedi skills if i hunt or get attacked

BOUNTY HUNTER:

- What is the main motivation for hunting player jedi (please be honest) ?

keep the imperial jedi population down

- Do you beleive its fair that jedi are the only profession in the game that loses something upon (BH) death ?

yes it is becourse it is yoru own choice and jedi is a risky prof and you get a alt char if it is not suited for you

- If they took away jedi XP loss would you hunt as many jedi as you do now ?

yes i would it disturb there grind or what ever they do

- If XP loss remains do you beleive BHs should be punished for losses or consecutive losses ?

mayby BH should be punished but how i have no idea

So many things that are just not right with this:

FOR ONE, nobody can control the unlocking process, so while people think or say "I am controling the Jedi population".. You are a WRONG... you have 0 control over the unlocking method, you cannot attack a guy in the village, you cannot stop his XP gain, you cannot TOUCH HIM UNTIL HE HAS A FREAKING PINK FORCE BAR!

SO with all that is said, the only people that actully control the Jedi populas is THE DEVS, NOT BH's!!!!

Now then, sure they can curb your growth as a Jedi but the term "Controling the Population" is stupid and false.

A few more things:

THE JEDI GRIND ISAS EASY AS WALKING INTO A GURK GROUP AND IN LESS THEN 4 WEEKS YOUR DONE...at avg grind session time.

No buffs needed, No xp loss on Death, No decay actully with as many ADKs out there, no risk with crafting sabers, no risk of 20 BHs at once and odds are now greater of no griefing, group GRINDING WITH NO RISK??? you can have freaking 5 docs and nothing is different in your visibility, NOW there is actully planets you cant be tracked on.. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??? You can go somewhere and NOT be tracked -- yes I know how much safer can you get..BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE!!! You don't lose skill boxes, you don't lose your entire toon, you don't lose time (in travel of 10 min starports and buffs), You don't even have to get BF healed.

The only thing that you have lost... and I know becaus I am a Old Jedi, is the respect. For the most part we are mere shadows and jokes... we all know it, dont want to say it... maybe but we are. There is level 80 quenkers in the game that can damn near take out a Jedi now... I mean this is what we are now.. I understand , I know why, I can even grasp the reasons , however I can also say Im dissapointed at how this has all gone down... it has become a joke and almost sad to see in some ways.

One thing this comes down to is this: Risk vs Reward.... There is neither now so with that said, make Jedi a starting prof and call it a day at this point is my thoughts. We are nothing more then a Elite prof with some magic... thats about it anymore.

You had some good points, but this was generally a monologue and Off-Topic. Also please refrain from generalizing that only jedi receive the benefits labeled in red.

I love the hiposcrasy of PvP players.

I see PvPrs argue all the time that argueing for the return ofTEFs that PvP players avoid that Risk vs Reward in the GCW.

Yet these same PvP players that play BH's, risk NOTHING except a quick trip to the clone center on loss and want toKEEP it that way.

The whole risk in the BH vs JediPvP situationis allon the Jedi. ALL of it.

So much for Risk vs Reward. BH's get all the reward if they win,no penaltyif they loose. Jedi get all the penalty when they loose, nothing if they win.

Risk vs Reward. Hahaha yea right.

if jedi should be punished then bh should too. if they fail to kill their mark then their employer should take it out on them

however, newbie jedi don't worry much about bh because the majority are very careful and are not hunted at all until full template. loss of xp really is moot at that point.

If anything, if xp loss was taken out jedi would be nerfed even further. And like I said, getting your xp back from a BH death is almost trivial now. The only risk involved for being a jedi now is BH's. Why is that so hard for people to deal with?

Perhaps what I would like to see is the alteration of xp loss. I think that it might be better if NPC characters did not give visibility at all (or a very very small amount) whereas the visibility given when near PC charactersshould be enhanced. Perhaps then wearing robes, having your LS equipped, as well as using force etc in front of them should give vis. Perhaps this would mean that if you dress and act normally and grind in a group in a remote destination you would gain minimal visibility. However if you walked around starports duelling people, or stood in Mos Eisley with your lightsaber in your hands then you would get tonnes of visibility as get hunted. Maybe then the xp loss could even be increased. This would give a realistic option to people who want to grind peacefully, fight NPCs, and not worry about lvl 2 'settlers' giving vis, whereas Qwi'Gonn-Gin who runs around Eisley duelling people saying'Look at me, I'm a Jedi,' would soon getwhat was coming to him (realistically this would happen.)

Put in context, visibility is essentially NPC's/PC's seeing what they believe to be a Jedi and reporting them to informants/the Empire etc. If however we look at the films (the only real referance to the SW universe) we can see that in Ep 4 Obi Wan was able to walk through Eisley in his robes (and even use his lightsaber in the cantina). Also, in Ep 1, Qui Gon was talking to Watto and tryed using a mind trick - but nevertheless Watto did not believe he was a Jedi (and they actually were fairly plentiful back then.)

The point is that 150 player characters in a bustling hub would be more likely to report a 'Jedi' using a 'Lightsaber' in the streets than a CL 2 'Settler' who lives in the middle of Tat and has probably never even heard of a Jedi.

Hopefully this would mean that as you walk around the servers you would see little or no Jedi activity (robes/lightsabers/duelling) despite the fact that it is present. Is this not how it is meant to be?

Thanks, and please point out any errors (as I am sure you will )

Wait for the frs to come back. I'll bet MBH's will still give frs points just like in the fight club days, only jedi will have it earn it then.

Don't give me that can't find them on Kashyyyk thing either. I know alot of BHs that camp the starport just tab targetting. Also I know alot of jedi whom NEVER use Kashyyyk.

Yes death comes to everyone, but everyone else has the CHOICE and OPTION to engage in PvP. Jedi do not. Many jedi accept this, but should they be punished for not enjoying fighting other players? No.

ONLY if they make it that the BH has to have their mission in order to gain FRS XP from them.

A long time ago when Jedi were a lot more powerful then normal characters.... er wait they never have been that much more powerful.

The risk: Being hunted by other players and losing xp.

The reward: Being able to play a Jedi character. leet or not thats the reward. If you dont like it don't do it.

Really why should we care if we lose xp or we don't. Fact of the matter is Jedi are to be hunted down and killed in this game. Play and have fun. If it's not fun then try something else. If we keep asking the devs to do what the players want the game will continue to have no direction and keep going downhill.
