Thread: Hey I don't like PVP

I don't know why anyone who doesn't like PvP becomes a Jedi.

-No Jedi never has a BH come for them.

-The FRS was all about PvP, even though we don't know what the new system is... I can't imagine it won't involve PvP at all.

Anyone who doesn't like PvP should stay out of the Jedi profession, cause it's not for them. We still need blaster-wielders in this game after all

I remember over a year ago when the demographics showed that hardcore pvpers werein the far minority. Now I actually know many Jedi that would opt for a non-pvp, but on the same had I think the game is far more pvp oriented then it was in the past.

IMO.. it is in the best interest of this game to reestablish pve (more loot, quests, rewards, etc) to keep players that don't enjoy pvp, and broaden it to include Jedi that just want to do quests, or hunt with their friends. The enduring arguementfor visibility, Jedi bounties, and experience loss has always comefrom people who are tired of seeingJedi flashing their sabers in cities, orat the center of theGCW. There are way too manyJedi to keep talking about population control, and a year and a half into player bounties it hasn't made a dent anyways. Nobody is complaining about Joe Jedi off in the middle of nowhere killing a quest NPC, so give the visibility to players hanging out in cities, or doing base raids instead.

The game has evolved, and re-evolved...I think the people who think Jedi is only about pvp have not.

If bh can have an alternative to pvp with the boss missions, why cant jedi? It just shows how unfair soe is to the jedi population. Just modify shrines to give jedi boss missions for npc elite animals. Would be a great start for putting jedi loot back in the game.

this statement is the most rediculous that people are putting into the game these days:

guys, nothing discourages someone from being a jedi. they will attain it no matter what...give it a rest of the bh being a population control....it doesnt work...hence the state of affairs we are in now.

It would definitely be nice to have a way to filter out the trash-talking foul-mouthed moronic cretins in the game - but half the population, and three-quarters of the Jedi and BH populations would disappear.

I am happy to play withe remainder, but sadly no way seems to exist to filter out the first groups. If you choose to be a Jedi, then the only way to avoid the moronic @$$hats is to stay off the terminals - by playing your alt I guess

Dealing with BHs is going to be my least favorite part of finishing the FS grind to be honest. Not the ones who take the fight and are graceful with their win or lose, because I like a good fight, but the ones who wouldn't know sportsmanlike conduct if it was shoved down their throats and love to gloat over onesided unfair fights like they achieved something. I was a BH for a while. I never gloated and I never whined

its called add ignore list.

so you just wait till you get your jedi character to start whinning?

alot of these new jedi dont like to pvp cause they where too busy throwing* nades on lairs and unlocking their jedi in 6 months or less. But what happens when they unlock... they can't even hack it, getting each other nerfed, crying about mbh/mcm being overpowered, just a bunch of panseys if you ask me.

Kraken, why start with a big whine about BH missions? (which is being fixed in an upcoming build, if you bother to read the dev's development pages....high end NPCs for all will mean better loot for all).

As for the discouragement of BH's; what would you rather have, no BH's and jedi everywhere spamming their moves with impunity? It's not the ideal solution, but better than letting jedi run riot over the servers.

Anyway, BH has never been about population control, just visibility control. A server of 100% jedi, who are encouraged not to use powers around other players, will be the same as a server with no jedi at all. If a jedi uses powers and no one is there to see it, who cares?

Jedi has to stay PvP. The game is supposed to be challenging, not just a jumped up chat engine. There should be more pvp, not less. I don't want to play Happy Families in Space where nobody has anything to complain about (and therefore there's nothing to do in case the content doesn't please 100% of the demographic).

They should alsobring back the TEF system and a lot of other things from the old combat system. Even World Of Warcraft has TEFs - they were a good idea.

About Jedi not having an alternative to pvp -we do. 90% of SWG content is non-pvp.We can run pve missions like everyone else. We can do our best to stay off the terminals or we can grind in instanced zones like the Avatar Platform. We even have a whole new expansion coming out which pretty much seems to be just for us.

I don't think SOE are unfair to the Jedi community. No more unfair than to other professions. Rangers have been useless since the CU and only now are they finally getting fixed.

About my "ridiculous" comment about Bounty Hunters discouraging people from becoming Jedi... of course it does. It plays a part. There's the things to do to get force sensitive, then there's the months of grinding out xp at the village, then there's the Jedi grind itself (which Bounty Hunters can slow you down on). It discouraged me for a long time. I've got like 680 days logged but only relatively recently decided to go for Jedi. Sounded like a total pain in the butt before and I couldn't be bothered with it.

Also bear in mind that "forced pvp" doesn't just include fights with Bounty Hunters. The FRS was based on pvp and probably will be when they bring it back. If you don't like pvp then Jedi is not the profession for you.

I agree with the poster - I dont like PvP.Our guild (Ahazi) is even called PvE.

Jedi is a religeon - there SOE are encouragin religeous persecution = very naughty.

The idea that some dribbling BH is the right sort to bea missionary of the empire/alliance after a few measely hours of grinding isvery silly.

BH should have something to loose if they loose - they should loose xp in the same way jedi do but in proportiontion to the grind.

And also get a nasty rash.

Lol what a load of rubbish! Seriously, try thinking up better excuses for crying about enforced PVP.

I'm starting to think that we should introduce an EULA just after the "congrats you unlocked" email. That way people could have a tick box saying "by agreeing to this, you must expect to take part in enforced PVP".

First in Defence of the poster, Now that jedi is just a regular profession that take more time to grind forced pvp shouldn't be needed.

I'm pre-9 jedi, I've never lost to a BH so I can pvp, I just hate pvp , no fun ruins my pve play time. I prefer pve simple it's what I enjoy.

I also , even with all the nerfs still enjoy jedi(I have 2 now).

Few things need to happen.

First the Jedi/bh system needs to be removed. It no longer servers its purpose and only generates animosity among players.

Second the one time option for jedi to choose to be pvp or pve(includes gcw pvp) needs to happen.

Only way to change your jedi from pvp to pve is to drop jedi and regrind it, including the village parts(become fs again).

Those in pvp can have there frs, gcw and if they still want bh/jedi system at least with this the BH should stop whining since only jedi that want to pvp will be in the system..

Again I accept pvp as part of the price of jedi, I just don't enjoy it and I think the majority of in game(not forum) jedi would agree.

What MH needs is to remove the forcesap/shock to powers

Add a force buff line, buffs just like doc and a forcepool buff at master.

Considering that devs are moving to add counter parts to all jedi skills to non-jedi it seems only fair that jedi get counter skills to all non-jedi skills even rez other at the masters box.
