Bzzt nope. Try again people, and please try to understand the rumors before spewing more falsehoods around this already lie filled hole of the jedi forum.

The rumor, based on some junk found in the .tre files, is NOT that you must equip a saber, it is that you can't perform force powers with a NON-SABER equipped.

There is a difference.

This may happen, but it is not guaranteed, as there are many many things sitting in the .tre files for a year that have never happened. It's not in a patch notes, so this rumor doesn't mean squat.

Lol, if it's in the .TRE files that means it's at least being considered. You can stick your head in the sand if you want to, I'll keep my eyes open to the possiblities.

And of course you don't have to equip a saber. Right now, though, there is no penalty for a Jedi to do so. That may change and if it does, that's a nerf. You may like the nerf, you may even think it's appropriate.

But it's still a nerf. And Jedi has been nerfed to pieces already. Enough is enough.

If that's the case, I understand more. If you examine the files more closely and follow the discussion...it's not that you need a LS equipped, it's that you must not have a non-ls equipped. Example, you can be bare handed (slot 1 = 0) or a lightsaber (slot 1 = 1) but not anything else (slot 1 = 2).

Actually its SOE's way of saying that bh can be dabblers and Jedi cant. Now force costs just became our major issue.

I think they should put this quote in the oxford english dictionary, as the ultimate definition of irony.

How am I a jerk? Here's my reply to you.

I have read your posts from the time you became a padawan and have noticed something common to all of them. You don't want to accept what jedi has always been, but you want to make it easier. You want jedi to be an uber profession where only you and your select buddies can be the most powerful. You, in the same breath, have complained that jedi is too long fo a grind, and complained that BH's have cause you xp loss and you wanted them to be nerfed. Your postings, when taken as a whole, leads me to believe that you really don't put much thought into what you are saying because you constantly contridict yourself. You want jedi to be easy to get, but not want anyone else to get it, you want the reward without risk. This is another example of the developers trying to appease people like you who complained about hybrids. You are now complaining because it adds a minor hinderance to your gameplay. You constantly ask for change then resist that very same change when implimented. Pick a side and stick to it.

why would you ever not have it equiped? If we could holster weapons I might agree with you, but we can't. as far as this meaning powers needs further enhanced, I fail to follow your logic. I advise is play Jedi, or don't; a lightsaber is the weapon of a Jedi, end of the story.

The Lightsaber does not give a Jedi His force......
Without a Lightsaber a Jedi Still has the knowledge and ability to use the Force.....

But it is yet something else that is to take away the freedom of gameplay.

j, you sure you are not talking about your posts? since we are critisizing each others post lets go back to yours when you tell new padawans too bad about the problems against them, you got your template screw the new ones comming up and then when they have legitamate complaints you call them whiners. all you do is complain about the guys who still have a grind to do and have to do it under these post cu conditions. you are as bad as anyone when it comes to slamming your own proffesion, and probably the worst kind of jedi, the ones who could care less about the new guys. at least the complaining post i put up are not to make it easier, that was an outright lie on your previous post, i just want them fair. if you look at the survey i have going its very evident its not fair now, but you dont care, you have your template....well, i have mine also but i still campaign for the grinding padawans and always will. so, if you see my name on a post, DONT READ IT....get the point?

A Jedi uses the Force in everything they do.

People might say that Obi-wan didnt use the force while squeezing the trigger, but he did. He used it to steady his aim.

Does it take the Force to fly a ship? No but using the Force while flying enhances your reflexes and makes you a better pilot who can anticipate. Luke definitely used the Force while pulling the trigger destroying the Death Star.

Palpatine did not use an LS after Ep3 because there was no one left to challenge his Force Powers. Had someone developed who could challenge his Force Powers to a stand still then he would ahve needed his saber to fall abck on.

I think the idea goes against the make believe reality of Jedi, however I would understand why they would do it in this game.

What about the Force Wielders on Dantooine, and the NS, they do not use a LS, but will be using Force Specials like Lightning.... (When fixed in next pub)
