Thread: If saber must be equipped to use the Force, it's another illogical nerf to the Jedi profession

If that's the case, I understand more. If you examine the files more closely and follow the discussion...it's not that you need a LS equipped, it's that you must not have a non-ls equipped. Example, you can be bare handed (slot 1 = 0) or a lightsaber (slot 1 = 1) but not anything else (slot 1 = 2).

That is good information to know and that is the first time anyone has pointed that out to me. Thanks so much for making that clear. I still don't like losing the practical ability to shoot a gun, but at least I won't be gimped using the Force.

That would suck as i have wanted to be a hybrid since i can remeber. I am a fencer /jedi and far from tough. It is just part of my "character" and i have fun with it. I never wanted to be a full out jedi and i'm sure all the jedi haters could appreciate that i was not flaunting my abilities.

Oh well

I only keep my saber unequiped so no one sees (unless they know me) that I'm a Jedi. If I need to use some force powers...*poof* saber's equiped. Big deal.

As for the hybrids, I think it's a good fix. Makes Jedi be true Jedi and not riflemen and so on. Ahh, what do I know anyway.

jacella, r u a jerk in real life also? all you do is ruin the name of the jedi proffesion with each smart a$$ reply you post. i have read your bh rants on the bh forums and at least everyone knows what a j@rk you are. if you cant just post a simple reply then dont post at all. why must you lessen our proffesion by being an idiot?

So far I've seen nothing but intelligent posts from Jacella. He's not always kind, but then, look at the people he's replying to (Case in point, your message.)

I have yet to see a post by J that I haven't agreed with.

Not concerning me, because I am not a Hybrid, so in a way I shouldnt care, but saying you Must be fully Jedi is like saying You must be either fully a Crafter or fully a Combatant. If people wish to mix Jedi and normal Skills then all it does it add more variation in the game, and afterall this is a "Game" and should there be so many limits taking the "Fun" away from it?

Basicly The Saber is becoming equivalent to a Certification for Force Usage, without it you cant use any Force in any way, and somehow that doesnt seem realistic considering your Force is always present with a Jedi.

the enforced hybred will suffer if this goes ahead. A low padwan has to use his skills in other professions to survive. All itll do is make them run more and hide more in houses I guess.

You can't hide in houses anymore when a BH starts fighting you, lol.

if the whole bh vs jedi system was scapped then no one would need to worry about nerfs any more. That whole forced pvp system is the problem nothing else. It just needs to go away at least for a whileif notforever. Dont hear much complaining about PVE and the like. The current PVE system aint too shabby though i does have its quirks. The jedi and bh forumsare almost completely about bh vs jedi and how its not balanced. The surest way to balance it is completely, totally, 100% scrapp it. Some people would complain about that but i truely think not as many. Nerfs would cease. Well hopefully they would cease you never really know. Strife and friction would mostly end and we can get back to discussing fun ideas.

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.
