My thoughts have ALWAYS been that the path to unlocking the village should be random and unique for each player. Same requirement, but no cookie cutter method. Could be the 2 Warrens and 3 Themeparks for one, could be 5 corvettes for another, always random andalways secretand "tokened" to the player at creation. They should increase the content badge base to include all the boss badges and some of the other newer content-like badges. It sure would slow things down a bit, just think if some poor new guys "secret" and "random" content badge combo was a Axkva Min, the Deathwatch Overlord, Faction Assasinate Corvette, Faction Themepark and Mark of Altruism from Hero quest. It would take quite some time to hit a combination of badges like that, and you would have to really have immersed youself in this game to hit it. Not just run out and do the first 5 badges that you found the walkthrough for.

My 2 creds.

And I just want to add that you really would crap your pants they day the old man showed up, and you would really have something to be proud of knowing that you had gone out and been a part of this game and really played it and are being rewarded for your dilligence. I know that is how I felt when I played pre-pub 9 and never once got a holo, yet got visited by the old man the day after the village went up. At least I felt like I had been out there playing the game for the games sake, not Jedi's sake, when I checked and I was glowy on day one.

There, 3 creds.

this is not the way to slow jedi down. the village is too easy. if you are a cl 80 toon, you are getting 7k xp per piket. they cap out waaaay too fast no matter how high the turn in rates are. as it is, jedi grind waaaay much more xp than any other profession, it takes long enough as it is. getting 100 xp instead of 1k will only make people quit. the rate at which current jedi get xp is not the "problem",the "problem" is how fast at which jedi are created. not how "fast" they go through their templates.

Many of the original jedi are already long gone i think. I got Jedi in Jan 2004. Only 3 or 4 people even know my Jedi, i hardly ever play it.

My opinion is that the senario in this time frame is way out of wack. During this time frame any jedi that where not directly under the emperors thumb where hunted and killed. light or dark it made no difference If deamed a threat it was eleminated.

The pure number of jedi light and dark are more like the post Emporer era then between ep 3 and ep 4. Dark jedi in the service of the empire is also kind of out of wack as is light jedi fighting on the rebal sides. The Jedi had their own battles to fight among them selvs and bounty hunters where a threat to them all light and dark.

Just my 2 cents not that it means anything.

Ok really commen mistake here.

Bounty hunters were not exclusively jedi hunters. Sure they could have a jedi mark but you probably wouldnt find many jango/boba fetts fighting jedi.

The teras kasi were the jedi assasins, they hunted jedi in groups from what i remember as they thought the jedi could not be trusted to keep themselves under control.

Light jedi would try to help others where as dark/sith would instead use others for their own personal gain....so could be argued for the rebel/imp thing.

You know what?.....I think I would. You put me on a pre-cu server and I'll ride the holo-donkey through my jedi grind mystery tour all over again!

Why make Jedi harder to get when we have a million of them already? If anything the CU + the BH Terminal Changes made it ever so easier for jedi. Now they don't have to be complete loners.

The devs obviously have the Jedi pop in check w/pearls being so scarce....

They will keep the nerfed jedi the way there are, and add power w/ pearls and FRS, that's the solution.

Yes Jedi are getting nerfed because they are entering the game at an alarming rate, and if the numbers keep growing the nerfs will get worse. what will happen is a tricky situation for SOE, if they bring back permadeath they run the risk of losing a customer every time a Jedi is killed i.e bad for business. what can they do to control the onslaught of Jedi.

1. Offer an incentive such as a third character slot to those that permadelete their Jedi. Those that are tired of playing Jedi would take this offer just for the third slot (and remember i said those that are tired of playing a Jedi)

2. Redo the requirements for becoming Jedi, bring back the mystery, hologrinding, make the requirement random per character and only when you finish a requirement may you find a holo leading you to the next, in essence make it hard again. SOE made it easier because they didn't have the amount of Jedi they were expecting now they have to many. Now you can ask anyone or look online for the requirements to become Jedi or detailed instructions on how to finish any village quest. This has to be changed. Jedi is supposed to be hard not come with instructions.

3. The group XP bonus have made grinding faster for everyone. They need to remove it, or not have it apply to Jedi to slow things down.

4. Jedi Content: constant additional content for Jedi, that would keep them out of the cities and off the radar of the non Jedi community. i.e get rid of the village, come up with a unknown planet where their is a lightside and a darkside temple, only Jedi can land there, planet has 100% Jedi content

5. Change all village content to make it so none of the current Jedi can provide instruction to the new upcoming Jedi, slowing down the grind even more.

Anything to be added to or commented on pls let me know.

I have other Accounts i can make into jedi if i want to. I would hold off on getting them Jedi till a harder system is put in place. That is if i wanted another Jedi. But for the sake of argument i would do it.

My main goal whenI started SWG Jedi was the farthest thing around. I even rember when the 1st Jedi was unlocked. Then i looted a holo and held onto it for ages. Then i got selceted to test Jedi for pub 9 and that got me hooked.

I disagree with the original poster. The reason being is because noneus Jedi are in any position to say Jedi is too easy. The reason I say this is because the only people preaching to make it harder are Jedi. The thing that baffles me is why are Jedi wanting to make it harder to get Jedi now. It is not right for us to say make it harder because we already have ours. No disrespect to the original poster, but if he or she did not already have their Jedi they would have a problem with it being made harder to get Jedi. This is how the NERFS to Jedi start, because the Dev's come in here and read these types of posts and get their brilliant ideas.

its too late to do anything but make jedi mad and make them leave the game. there is no solution at all that will solve this so called problem....honestly, if someone puts the time into it,,to bad, they deserve a jedi to play.

jedi is too hard to get , i think should get option to make a jedi instantly , because im telling you there isnt enought jedi on servers , im counting 3k jedi minimum , really aint enuff , this is based on epsiode II aint it? , really need ALOT more jedi

lol sarcasim for the win.

Either that or you need to be killed off.

I say go back in time to patch 6 for the win.

sad thing is , i aint kidding , when i got jedi "i thought WOW , 1 years work , really well earnt" now , were a normal proffesion , sooner our proffesion drives this game into the ground , sooner star wars galaxies 2 will be able to "correct" the mistakes they took , i aint saying only i should be jedi , but at least have a 12month vet reward choice to become force sensitive and then a FS village X100 harder , jedi should be easy how it is now , should be a real win ya know , then again , im only 16 and dont know how games work , so ill shut up now

Lol ok your age is why I will let that one slide kid.

It's too late to fix most of this now, I see what your saying about Jedi and the game though.

I will almost agree we either need to just turn off the BH system, make Jedi a starting prof with less xp needed and call it a day and watch the game go poof sooner or later. At the rate we are going and what we are now I dont see how we can revover from this if at all.

Two Options:

Give Jedi away (almost there now) -- very close.

Or TIme machine us back to about patch 6 or so and there ya go... change the system no village etc..

Or stop this game make a new one lol.. who knows..
