Thread: Why is visibility so top secret? Dont we deserve to know?

Well I've been off the terms for over a month now, and apart from the fact there's zero content, I've searched these boards for answers about what does and does'nt give visability. I just read a post that vehicles give you vis?!
Is it so hard to get an official response to this? Why is it such a mystery to Jedi when it's an important part of Jedi life?
- Do vehicles give vis? No (Entity)
- Do vendors give vis? Only NPC vendors (Character). Vendor Terminals do not give vis.
- Do droids (pets) give vis? Only faction pets give vis (Character). All other pets (critters / droids) are entities and dont give vis.
- Do ticket collectors give vis? Not sure. I think they are Characters and give vis. You need to select them before they appear on your radar, though.
- Do trainers give vis? Yes. NPC = Character
- Do you get vis when cloaked? Definitely. Vis system was not revamped when Force Cloak got introduced, you consume Force = you gain vis.
- Does FR give vis? Same - it has maintenance ticks that generate vis.
- Does force healing give vis? Yes
- Does Channel give vis? Yes
- Does Meditate give vis? Yes
- If someone attacks you and you have your LS equiped but dont attack back, does that give you vis? Not sure. But I think as soon as the blade lights up you can get vis.
- Do you get vis by figthing in a house (or the new underground bunker) if there's someone outside within range? Yes. Vis is not restricted by LOS
- What is the range? 32m
- What are the different stages of vis from no vis to getting on the terms? Internal scoring system. You need to reach certain score before you end up on terms, score auto-decays slowly. No details disclosed, score cannot be checked.
These are all vital questions we as Jedi who try to stay of the terms need to know about. If SOE want Jedi to be less visible, why is there no difinitive guide on visibility?
Please do not post with your best guesses. Maybe our corr can fire these questions at the devs?
Edit: More questions added.

Why doesnt SOE tell us?
One simple reason: They would need to put in some time to verify that is actually working as designed. They can always say "its a mystery", and whenever they introduce a bug, nobody will notice it nor will people have any written documents to prove that indeed a bug got introduced. As long as they dont make a statement of how exactly it works, they dont need to worry about it not working the way they intended it, and they can change the way it is intended to work at any time (number of holo professions increasing anyone?).

Wow, you're really against SOE arn't you? Simply put, they don't tell us because we arn't supposed to know what all Might or might not give vis. First off I do agree that vehicles giving vis would be stupid, and as far as I know, Pre-CU they didn't give vis(Had a friend do a test and his vehicle didn't give vis. Also, pre-cu just attacking with the standard attack didn't give vis either and he killed kunga for 4 days without getting on the terminals, but that is not possible anymore with the CU)
If you want to figure out what Give's Vis. TEST IT OUT, just like hte rest of us. Put on and take off your robe 50 times in a VERY populated area and see if a BH comes after you, then keep doing these things till a BH does come get you, Let him kill you and then try again. Do one thing per day, and sit in Kadarra while doing it to make sure BH will come get you. If you don't like this solution, then you can just take what others have tried and hope that they know what they are talking about.
From testing before they took off names from the terminal.
Healing a bike with infusion gave me visibility
VENDORS do cause Visibility because cloaked they drain your force. Also, if you actually hover over them in your radar - They say 'Character'
Basically the only way you're NOT going to get visibility is to wear normal clothing with no title and no saber equipped.

/addignore Cerosis. Totally pointless and useless contribution to the thread and not worth a response.
No one was being an arse. I stated in red I didnt want people posting guesses. If this wasnt a guess and you somehow have information we dont, then please share your source with the rest of us.

- Do vehicles give vis? YES - THIS ONE IS STUPID BUT TRUE
- Do vendors give vis? YES
- Do droids (pets) give vis? NO
- Do ticket collectors give vis? YES
- Do trainers give vis? YES

- Does force healing give vis? YES

- Does Meditate give vis? YES
- If someone attacks you and you have your LS equiped but dont attack back, does that give you vis? YES, you get Visibility for just EQUIPPING A SABER
- Do you get vis by figthing in a house (or the new underground bunker) if there's someone outside within range? NO
- What is the range? 32m
- What are the different stages of vis from no vis to getting on the terms? 25% chance that you actually gain visibility from any visibility giving things... 1/4 times you won't get reported to the terminals.
These are all vital questions we as Jedi who try to stay of the terms need to know about. If SOE want Jedi to be less visible, why is there no difinitive guide on visibility?

No disrespect, but where did you get this info? Until I see an official list, you may as well have said yes or no to them all.
They AREN'T Guesses.
Everything that I stated I did so simply... Too much grey... the only one I haven't tested is Channel Force (Because it actually has no physical effect besides action and mind drain)
1st Problem:
Your expecting a Developer to answer a question they aren't going to answer
2nd Problem:
You refuse to accept tested results and decide they are unconclusive.
I had a Bounty Hunter Alt -- I was just unlocked -- I did certain things to attempt to gain visibility. Applying force infusion to my bike caused me to get on the terminals.

When you're in a mall or near some vendors, Zoom your mini-map WAAY close (32m) Hover over ANY of them with your mouse (It will give you some information in a pop up of sorts) -- Vendors are 'Characters' according to the game. A Vender is not a player character --- VENDER = NPC = Visibility.
Pets and Droids are labelled ENTITIES which Tiggs said does not cause visibility.

If I was against SOE I wouldnt be playing this game. I stated my opinion, you dont need to comment on it if you dont want to make any constructive points.
You say we arent supposed to know, and I am saying we werent supposed to know while hologrinding, either. And if you ask people you will notice that the number of professions needed to unlock got increased several times during the hologrind times. You have your opinions, I have mine.

We would all like to see our visibility value, like on our stat screen or somewhere, but then again I have the feeling that we would start seeing it go up around things that shouldn't generate viz. "WHAT? Shuttles give viz too?"
I bet there are alot of objects in game that generate viz that shouldn't.
The fact isa lot of peoplethink they know, but NOBODY REALLY DOES.
So keep your rumors and BS answers to yourself we want customer service or a dev. to answer these questions not someone that Thinks they know, especially when they can't post any facts to back their BS.
If you want to post an answer, make sure you post your proof to back that answer up other wise shut up.
