Thread: Why is visibility so top secret? Dont we deserve to know?
I'm fed up of BH saying stay of the terms yada yada yada to any Jedi who complains about the current situation.
Well I've been off the terms for over a month now, and apart from the fact there's zero content, I've searched these boards for answers about what does and does'nt give visability. I just read a post that vehicles give you vis?!![]()
Is it so hard to get an official response to this? Why is it such a mystery to Jedi when it's an important part of Jedi life?
- Do vehicles give vis?
- Do vendors give vis?
- Do droids (pets) give vis?
- Do ticket collectors give vis?
- Do trainers give vis?
- Do you get vis when cloaked?
- Does FR give vis?
- Does force healing give vis?
- Does Channel give vis?
- Does Meditate give vis?
- If someone attacks you and you have your LS equiped but dont attack back, does that give you vis?
- Do you get vis by figthing in a house (or the new underground bunker) if there's someone outside within range?
- What is the range?
- What are the different stages of vis from no vis to getting on the terms?
These are all vital questions we as Jedi who try to stay of the terms need to know about. If SOE want Jedi to be less visible, why is there no difinitive guide on visibility?
Please do not post with your best guesses. Maybe our corr can fire these questions at the devs?
Edit: More questions added.

Knowledge is our best weapon. If we are meant to be in hiding, thats fine...but we need to know what we can and can't do without ending up on the terms.
We've been asking for this since vis was put in, I don't think they even wrote themselves what they designed to give vis, or used some kinda loose recoginition system and they honestly don't have a solid idea either.
(this is my personal opinion, btw)

its ashame that the DEVs don't know hardly anymore than the customersdo of the system![]()
Best rule to go by is dont use any Jedi power within 32 meters of any PC or any NPC. Dont equip or Un-equip either your robe or LS within the same distance of PC or NPCs. Just a rule of thumb and vehicles IMHO give you **edit**e for vis.
I know you wont believe me much cause of post count, i'm just looking out for you. GL
Forcerun 1 gives you no vis if activated outside the 32 meter radius.

I would disagree about FR1 since it uses (a small) amount of force every few seconds. It would make sense that anything that modifies your forcebar will generate vis (eith the exception of nornal regen). All guess work though.

I already do all of this, but it there are things happen by accident and it's important to know. Like the other day I was afk in my house and a friend on guild war thought it would be funny to attack me. I didnt attack back but had saber equiped which as you know automatically switches on. He got a bollocking, but I have no idea if that gave me vis and if I should now be scanning my radar for BH. Also as I said, I have no idea if when cloaked and in a crowded area if I get vis (ironic I know considering I'm invisible) but we just dont know AND SHOULD! Does my Fr2 give vis when activated when no ones around or do I get vis becuase it's on when someone comes close to me.
Guessing just aint good enough when the penalty for vis is the terms and the possibility of -480XP. I dont think it's good enough that it's all guess work.
maybe one day we will get it all wrote down for us by the DEVs..lol..it makes me wonder what they do actually..i think they go in their office spin in their chair and press the "Nerf button" and say "its been a long day, time to go to bed"..reminds me of Bush lol
To be perfectly honest, I think that they simply cannot answer the question: What causes Jedi visibility.
I suspect that the jumble that is called the CU and the changing of the guard in the Dev department has left this as just another issue buried so far in the jumble of code that they can probably no longer give a qualified answer. The broken Melee/Ranged defense problems fall into this category I think.
SOooo many changes came with the CU that were not thought through. SOooo much is now broken and not even adressed.
They should realize that much of the player base is simply existing on hope; hope that they will quit trying to expand this broken game and really get down and start working on fixing the broken game mechanics. Marketting always wins in every industry, but time has a way of catching up with this short-sided view when it comes to consumer confidence and investment.
SWG lore and my interest in the Star Wars universe brought me here, dissapointment and a very lacking reward for my time investment (boring, gimped, broken, unfixed since before the CU Jedi) will eventually cause me to leave.I don't mind the BH visits, I don't mind the long grind, I don't mind the repetitive killing, I don't mind the people that get upset during fights. I do mind that I seem to find no point to playing anymore. Things just seem to go from unfinished full publishes being put live to clearly broken basic game mechanics not even being addressed from the management. Continuing to pay and play is beginning to make me feel really stupid because I find myself not wanting to reward the people who have taken this game and destroyed what it was.
I continued to muddle through and adapt to thesebroken game mechanics as they continue to push this stuff out, but my patience and interest have slipped and turned into anger and disgust. The only reason I have even logged in lately was for some social interaction, which has been in the steady decline since the CU as well.
Visibility issues? Geez, so much needs to be fixed before that really matters. Saber speed, pearls, healing costs, melee/ranged defmods broken, loot tables completely borked, AB balancing problems, explited cool-down timers, repeated BH missions on the same jedi, abandoned structures overcrowding, server instability, LAG, I'm sure I missed about 20-30 issues ... ummm visibility ? pfft.
Yes, I know it's time. 1 canceled and 1 in the wings.
The answer is simple, the Devs hate Jedi. Jedi are geanies that they wish had never gotten out of the bottle. They won't be happy until we are all gone, unless the BHs complain first about the lack of Jedi as content.

- Do vehicles give vis? YES - THIS ONE IS STUPID BUT TRUE
- Do vendors give vis? YES
- Do droids (pets) give vis? NO
- Do ticket collectors give vis? YES
- Do trainers give vis? YES
- Do you get vis when cloaked? YES
- Does FR give vis? YES
- Does force healing give vis? YES
- Does Channel give vis? - Eh? -
- Does Meditate give vis? YES
- If someone attacks you and you have your LS equiped but dont attack back, does that give you vis? YES, you get Visibility for just EQUIPPING A SABER
- Do you get vis by figthing in a house (or the new underground bunker) if there's someone outside within range? NO
- What is the range? 32m
- What are the different stages of vis from no vis to getting on the terms? 25% chance that you actually gain visibility from any visibility giving things... 1/4 times you won't get reported to the terminals.
These are all vital questions we as Jedi who try to stay of the terms need to know about. If SOE want Jedi to be less visible, why is there no difinitive guide on visibility?
