Well I've been off the terms for over a month now, and apart from the fact there's zero content, I've searched these boards for answers about what does and does'nt give visability. I just read a post that vehicles give you vis?!

Is it so hard to get an official response to this? Why is it such a mystery to Jedi when it's an important part of Jedi life?

  • Do vehicles give vis? No - it is not a "character"

  • Do vendors give vis?Yes - it is a "character"

  • Do droids (pets) give vis? No - it is not a "character"

  • Do ticket collectors give vis? No - it is not a "character"

  • Do trainers give vis? Yes - it is a "character"

  • Do you get vis when cloaked? This one is hard to test, however - you must use force to keep it active, using force causes visibility, but your invisible - so it needs further testing.

  • Does FR give vis? Yes - it uses force to activate and keep running.

  • Does force healing give vis? Yes - it uses force.

  • Does Channel give vis? No - it does not use force.

  • Does Meditate give vis? No - it does not use force.

  • If someone attacks you and you have your LS equiped but dont attack back, does that give you vis? No - as long as you dont use force - no visibility. (auto-attacks will use force)

  • Do you get vis by figthing in a house (or the new underground bunker) if there's someone outside within range? Yes.

  • What is the range? 32 meters

  • What are the different stages of vis from no vis to getting on the terms? There are no stages. You have a visibility limit. You start at zero, everything that you do that causes visibility will fill this quota, when you reach that terminal limit, your mission is generated on the terminals. From that point, it takes three weeks to totatly remove visibility (back to zero). With that said, if you get on the terms, and wait a week, you will fall off the terms, because your limit is below the trigger point (and missions only last 3 days) - this, of course, means you did nothing to get more visibility.

These are all vital questions we as Jedi who try to stay of the terms need to know about. If SOE want Jedi to be less visible, why is there no difinitive guide on visibility?

Please do not post with your best guesses. Maybe our corr can fire these questions at the devs?

Edit: More questions added.

You must not of search to hard - check my posts...

However, I have answered your questions - they are not guesses - they are hard fact that I tried out myself.

RULE OF THUMB for visibility and your Jedi.

Any Jedi action, if it uses force, and any "character" is within 32 meters of you, you will generate visibility. Depending on what faction, number and how long you do the action determines how much visibility you earn.

Tuning crystal: uses force = visibility

Doing a Jedi saber attack: uses force = visibility

Doing a Jedi Power/Healer action: uses force = visibility.

The exception to this is equipping and de-equipping your lightsaber, this will cause visibility.

A "character" is determined by moving your mouse cursor over the radar dot. If it says it is a "character" you will get visibility from it, if it says "entity" you will not. (warning, vendors do not show up on the radar unless you have them targeted, and when you do, they will show up as "character"

NPC's (humanoid) are "characters", so are ewoks, janta's, kungas, etc... Droids, bikes, creatures, pets, are considered "entities"

All of this was tested and found to be true. Also, it is in the holocron and was posted by JustG (swg dev guy).

So - unless you want visibility, don't do anything that causes force to be used to non-group members within 32 meters of you.

Testing was carried out with my Jedi - After being logged offline for three weeks. My guild mate was checking the terms.

Channeled for hours in front of my bike and my guildmate- never on the terms.

Meditated for hours in front of my bike and my guild mate - never on the terms.

Put robes on and off - no terminals.

Used force by bike - no terminals.

Used force by several pc's and npc's for 20 mins - on the terms. (waited for one week - no missions on terminals )

I am confident that my answers are correct. However, how you choose to use this info is up to you.

I had a Bounty Hunter Alt -- I was just unlocked -- I did certain things to attempt to gain visibility. Applying force infusion to my bike caused me to get on the terminals.

No, I'm not expecting, I'm hoping two very different states of mind.

Yep. No idea who you are, or whether what you say is credible or not. For all I know you could be some spotty noes kid making it all up. If a guy I dont know comes up to me and tries to sell me his car and askes me to take his word for it that it's in good order, before I bought the car Id like to see the official MOT.

As I said, no disrespect to you, but simply saying ABC does not mean it's ABC till someome with a blue or red name says it's ABC.

  • Do vehicles give vis? YES - THIS ONE IS STUPID BUT TRUE

  • Do vendors give vis? YES

  • Do droids (pets) give vis? NO

  • Do ticket collectors give vis? YES

  • Do trainers give vis? YES

  • Do you get vis when cloaked? YES

  • Does FR give vis? YES

  • Does force healing give vis? YES

  • Does Channel give vis? - Eh? -

  • Does Meditate give vis? YES

  • If someone attacks you and you have your LS equiped but dont attack back, does that give you vis? YES, you get Visibility for just EQUIPPING A SABER

  • Do you get vis by figthing in a house (or the new underground bunker) if there's someone outside within range? NO

  • What is the range? 32m

  • What are the different stages of vis from no vis to getting on the terms? 25% chance that you actually gain visibility from any visibility giving things... 1/4 times you won't get reported to the terminals.

These are all vital questions we as Jedi who try to stay of the terms need to know about. If SOE want Jedi to be less visible, why is there no difinitive guide on visibility?

I was always told any PC or NPC regardless of being in stucture or not raised visability.

Honestly I don't care about viz, but I think we all would feel better if a DEV could check and confirm that vehicles do not generate viz.

We all have seen the thing about vehicles count as an entity when cloaking, they can "see" us and prevent cloaking, and they drain our force when cloaked nearby. But I haven't seen a DEV comment on this. Because one way or another, there is a bug here. They see us when cloaking but don't see us to generate viz, or they see us like any NPC. But maybe the viz factor is so low, it doesn't matter, we all have word of Jedi grinding with their swoops out. But we also know there is a viz threshold before you end up on the terminals, so even if the do generate viz, it might be so low it doesn't matter.

Well vis is very important to me. As a roleplayer there's nothing worse then a non RP'er BH coming for you in the middle of some RP. You also cant relax and RP when you have to check out every dot and watch the radar all the time.

Answers to these 'simple' questions would help a great deal in the MMO *RP* G
