Thread: Jedi: The solution to your 2500-damage uber BH/SL fears awaits ...
I agree that it's simple and easy to understand, but it's definitely not fair.
Squad Leader buffs are basically the same thing as Doctor buffs now. The only contingency is that the person receiving them has to be in the group with the SL. If a BH is "stupid" enough to attack a Jedi who's in a group with a Master Squad Leader ... why shouldn't that Jedi get to keep that buff? Why should either of them get to keep any buff from an outside source?
If your argument is that you want the fight between the BH and Jedi to be "completely" pure with NO outside influence at all ... then you need to be even and level across the board. ALL buffs, Doctor included, should be dropped at the onset of the BH TEF. It should be decided by skills, abilities, and foods ... nothing else.

Yeah, that's the way I look at it too. After reading through this thread, the way I see it is that if SL buffs were to be dropped, then Doctor buffs should be dropped as well. And no, it's not "silly" to argue this at all. What's silly is that one set of of buffs gets dropped while another remains. Granted these are "different kinds" of buffs, but they're still buffs, so I don't see how one could logically be dropped while the other is not.
And beyond that, the Bounty Hunter is the one who gets first-strike capability, meaning THEY dictate the fight. The Jedi merely responds. To that end, the Bounty Hunter should have the knowledge and cunning to fire that first shot when it's most advantageous to them....not their mark.
To be honest, my biggest fear is not so much the one hit kills(although they do suck), but it's thepotentialb4st4rdization of the Squad Leader profession. As broke as Jedi is, Squad Leader has been broken for much longer, and not only is this a "time" factor, but it'sa "simpler" fix than trying to fix all of Jedi. I would like to see true Squad Leaders out there, and not have a respectable profession turned into the new BH-flavor of the month. For my money, I can accept the MBH/MCM (even though the healing ticks me off) becauseit takes a lot of skill points...not to mention any MCM/MBH willhave less direct-offense skills than say...an MBH/M Carbineer. However, as it stands, I think a good deal of the SL skills can me picked up just by dabbling...which is terrible.
For what it's worth, I hope someone reads this, ObsidianWrath, because it three professions are already being effected by it...and not in the good way.
Thanks. ![]()
My hope would be that if everyone can come together on this, even if it's not "completely perfect," that the three effected correspondents -- Jedi, Bounty Hunter, and Squad Leader, would take it to the Devs collectively to try to ensure that the opinion is voiced.
We shall see.

One shot incapping was expressed as something the CU was designed to remove, and yet they are headed in that direction again. I fail to see how allowing the 'alpha strike' to become the only strike is balancing in anyone's wildest imagination.

No SL BUFFS, not the others...I never said all buffs from the docs etc..
AGAIN just the SL buffs... man they would never go for the others... thats just silly.
Right, but that's just my point ...
Why does the Master Doctor get to help his friend, but I can't help mine?
Because a doctor can Buff both party's and its an equal battle feild. where as your surgestion is clearly stateing that a Jedi can have SL buffs and a BH cant. this is far from equal

Correct, but there are Riflemen doing 6000 damage in PVP with Sniper Shot.
As I said in the other post, if you can show me a screenshot of a Jedi using Dervish or something to inflict that same kind of damage (after armor) to a ranged fighter, I'll concede my point.
Furthermore, I have said time and again that the Bounty Hunter dictates the flow of the battle. They choose when and where it happens, not the Jedi. A crafty BH would wait until the Jedi is not with a Squad Leader in order to engage.
and a jedi decides weather or not he fights or not. now i am currently looking for SS's of what the damage is being delt by any jedi with SL buffs but i currently havent seen any as of yet.

That's because Jedi cannot test their own profession.

I'm not entirely sure about that, depending upon how crafty the BH is.The proper usage of roots and snares (paralyze, etc.) can pretty effectively keep the Jedi where the BH wants him ... at least for the entire onset of the fight.
Regarding Screen Shots, I haven't seen any, either. That's why I assume that it's a non-issue. The BH and Jedi communities are very sensitive, and I can't imagine that if there were Jedi running around "one-shotting" BH's with Dervish that they wouldn't be screaming bloody murder by now.
