Thread: So Tiggs, HOW MANY GOOD PEARLS DO I NEED TO TUNE FOR A PERFECT TUNE?

I've tuned over 100 good pearls since the CU, and I haven't come close to perfect. The best one was 106 / .1 / -5.

Tiggs is completely LIEING to us telling us it's possible. Possible implies that there is a chance it will happen. The tables may be there, but the likelihood is so low it might as well be impossible. Out of ALL the Jedi I know, I have the best Post-CU pearl tune (out of over 500 good pearls). Those aren't odds, unless you're a fool, and if you believe in these odds I have alottery ticket I'd like to sell you. $100 bucks, and there are good odds it will tune perfectly.

She is not lying.

And people spend millions on the lottery everyday, which DOES have crap for odds and doesn't have "levels" of better odds for winning.

I miss Premiums and Flawless pearls/crystals, too - but Tiggs in no way lied to us.

Whether you believe her or not is your issue, not hers.

"The "rare" pearls are simply ones which dropped from very high level creatures. What changed was that combat upgrade altered the levels of creatures. So where a pearl might before have been considered "premium" because it dropped from a level 287 creature, now it isn't considered premium because the creature dropping the pearl isn't level 287 any more.

The possible stats that a pearl can give you are the same, regardless of the pearl quality. The only advantage a "premium" pearl gives you is a better chance of getting higher stats. "Fixing pearls" would be a matter of changing the level ranges for different quality pearls. This would be a retroactive change which would suddenly change all the pearls in the game to be high-level pearls, increasing the power of Jedi globally and almost instantly - Unless we simultaneously lowered the advantage of premium pearls so that they don't give as much an increase to the odds of getting higher stats as they do now. "

Well it's pretty much a lie right there. You can get a perfect tune from premium pearl, now have you heard of a perfect tune from a good pearl ? Don't think so.

LMAO!!!

I think by the amount and responses she's gotten from her post, it's her issue.

Read her post. You may not call it lieing, but it's misleading and a deflection at best. She and the DEV's don't want to deal with the issue, so they're making excuses. Tiggs was the one that (unfortunately for her) had to come out and dish this line of bull.

BTW: One of the definitions for lie is "To intentionaly mislead". I think that sums up her post nicely, as do most I believe.

She never said that you could get a perfect tune, she said that the stats a pearl can give you are the same, but a premium pearl gives you a better chance of getting higher stats.

Just because you, or anyone on the forums, hasn't heard of someone getting a perfect tune from a good quality pearl or crystal doesn't mean it's impossible or hasn't happened. I've tuned premiums before and gotten nothing good from them, then got nearly perfect tunes from a quality.

Each tune has it's own set of random conditions, independent of any previous tune.

Tiggs never lied in her post.

Premiums have a far greater chance of getting a perfect tune, yes. But given enough attempts with poorer quality pearls or crystals, one (based on random luck) would get a perfect tune or near-perfect eventually with a large enough sample - in theory. However, the sample required to achieve these results likely gets grows exponentially with each lower level of quality. But it can be done, if attempted enough times by one person. Even in 1000 or 5000 attempts perhaps the Force just isn't with you. It is the nature of random mathematics. If the tunings were adjusted, premium pearls would be an almost guaranteed perfect tune, and that's no good either - it's contrary to the whole idea of tuning.

However, all things being random, some newbie Jedi can tune a Fair pearl to near-perfect or perfect on their very first tune, or their second tune.

Did we really need *another* whine thread about pearls?

In short: no

We all know the issues with pearls, the chance of a dev reply to this post are microscopic to say the least.

Pointless

(Yes this post was also pointless but im annoyed by the constant whine so i thought id post some anti whine whine.. if you follow)

I have tuned over 60 Premium Pearls and have never gotten a "perfect" tune.

Some were close but they were at least good in every stat instead of good in just one stat.

To me perfect means perfect as in:

120 / 120 Dam (50 / 50 Pre-CU)

-9.9 FC

-.299 Speed

I have a bunch that are like 115 / 115 -8.x or -9.x and -.26 - .28

Very nice and I am happy with them but they are not perfect.

If I can not even get 1 stat capped by tuning over 60 premiums, what do you think the realistic chances of getting all stats capped in a single loot from good pearls?

I am gonna say for all intents and purposes it is basically 0.

I would start by getting over 1000 and moving up from there.

u´ll never get a 120 0.3 -9 tune with a good pearl, as far as i know is, they never changed the hard caps on different quality pearls, so max of good should be 100 xxx.

Not tru I have a good pearl that tuned to 110 last week.

I'm going to start putting this in my sig, since everyone seems to think "good" pearls can't produce decent tunes: I tuned a post-CU "good" pearl to 120 damage, -5 FC, don't remember what the speed is, sorry.
