Thread: So Tiggs, HOW MANY GOOD PEARLS DO I NEED TO TUNE FOR A PERFECT TUNE?

I would like SOE to tell me how many Good Pearls I need to have (estimate is fine) so I get 1 perfect tune. If you cant tell me because other factors play into it, then assume I am the only one on the server looting Good Pearls, then how many would I need to get 120 damage with -9 force cost and speeds better than -0.25.


If you cant answer that, then just tell me how many I need to get 120 damage if I am the only person on the server on any given day for whatever amount of time it takes for you to give me a straight answer.

i beleive the answer is "as many as it takes" this is the perfect dangling carrot to keep us all playing the game longerand lining SOE's pockets longer

are you saying they try to make us play more then thier pockets can hold? In my eye's it seems like they are doing alot atm... Revamping Each profffersion and all... Thinking how to make Jedi stronger then any can imagin soo people will find it WORTH grinding it alll out! And I actually want to know where have our Coro and Tiggs been? Havent seen them online I am following the TC News and nothing is live Yet!

u´ll never get a 120 0.3 -9 tune with a good pearl, as far as i know is, they never changed the hard caps on different quality pearls, so max of good should be 100 xxx.

The last post from TIGGS on the subject mentioned that all values of pearls or crystals can get a perfect tune. The quality rating simply increases the chance of getting that perfect tune.


I tuned a poor crystal to 97/97 -0.19 -3FC yesterday. If the FC had been higher I would have been very happy with that tune, as it stand now I am just really pleased. It was only my 4th tune, the others were 51/51 , 18/18 and 20/20 (other stats were all really low as well).

i tuned 30 good pearls in the last 2 days, and got 6 over 100...one was 105, one was 107, with -5 to -7 FC

Do we not have the right to get an answer? CSR said that he has 'no clue!' He told me go post on Jedi forum. I ask all those like myself to keep this thread alive and all demand an answer!


I will go farm 100 pearls if that is what it take. I'm afraid though, if I farm 100pearls -and wow that will take some time to do- and I end up with nothing better than 115/115 I am most probablygoing tocancel my account as then my greatest suspicions would have been confirmed that SOE will stop at nothing to increase profits -even deception.

Impossible. I've tuned almost 100 crystals and pearls (all 'good') and have never had one go above 60 damage, -.17 speed, -6 FC.



What are you doing? Are you MLS? Please tell. You can send me a PM if there is some secret you know that the rest of us don't...

As the roll for a tune is random, it would be nearly impossible for anyone to set a definite number of pearls/crystals you'd need to tune to achieve a perfect tune.


In other words, you could in theory flip a coin and gets heads 100 out of 100 tries, but the likelihood of that happening is remote. Still, itis entirely possible - every flip is a new chance at the odds - every flip gives you the same odds all over again. Nobody would be able to tell you "flip the coin 28 times to get tails" because it's totally random with each flip.


Unfortunately, you're asking something that nobody can answer, not even the folks who coded the tuning system. They could maybe tell you that within 100 tunes you have X% chance of getting a perfect tune, but aside from that - nobody can say how many tunes it will take you to get a perfect tune. The odds get reset with each tune and it relies completely on "luck."

It's not impossible. As I said above, each tune is completely random and a brand new shot at the odds.


You've just had a streak of bad luck. It's what keeps casinos profiting like mad. Otherwise, everyone would know the 800th slot machine pull would be the jackpot winner.

Bullsith! She only said that to "calm" down the comunity lol... A member of my guild tuned about 98 good pearls, and didnt get anything near as perfect (he has all the tunes all over his Pa hall)...

gocancel your account you baby, ive tuned about 90 pearls pre cu andafter in total and still not got a perfect pearl or crystal

tuned a 103/103 -7 -.20 yesterday so it is possible to get a decent tune


first one since the cu too btw....I'm not going to use that one.


sorry had to rub that in. but yes...this pearls/crystal thing needs fixed NOW. a lot of full temp jedi have under 450 max sabers. thats not right. on a different note...I dont think every jedi should have a 700 max 700 DPS saber either. They need to find a happy medium
