Thread: Jedi Temples!! A New FRS Proposal bringing Star Wars content to Jedi Knights
well what about servers with a large group of one side, because this side is batter orgenized. so you have a one serverwith more imperial players then rebels which resultes more dark jedi, and the other way around. so it will last about a week on these servers and all temples will be in one hand after that or even right from the start only one side will gain frs-points because they always win by pur mass of players. ok some of the minior side will be able to kill one or the other jedi from the major side but most will die everytime. that will lead to a situation in which the major side will grow stronger and stronger and the minior side will stay weak (no win no frs-points).
as a little bonus it might be fun but not as the only way to get frs-points. and btw the tempel idea isn't new, i had it some weeks ago and befor me there were others with the same idea.
I have just carefully read Glzmo's latest variant of his FRS revamp proposal. My opinion of it is that although it has some good elements, like a separate Light/Dark Jedi faction set at a slight distance from the GCW, the sum of the parts he proposes is a convoluted pile of crap that DOES NOT put a decisive end to Fight Clubs. In fact, Glzmo himself, on two different occasions, admits that at besthe hopes that his visionswill merely "reduce the need for Fight Clubs".
BecauseGlzmo has not thought out of the box in a way that would completely end Fight Clubs, he is forced to come up with exploitable proposals to give Jedi incentives not to Fight Club, suchas the idea that Light / Dark Jedi who fight each other on Yavin 4 get an outcome where the winner gains a lot of FRS experience, and the loser loses a little FRS experience.Meaning, the new uber Fight Club under Glzmo's rules could looklike this - each day, the conspirators pick a new out-of-the-way waypoint on Yavin 4, seta meeting time for the next day, and when their play session for the day ends, they log off their Jedi at the agreed WP. Shortly before the meeting time, they log on their altsand arrange their duels in chat. Then they all log on their Jedi at the same time, get their duels done in 15 minutes tops, banking several thousand of net FRS experience each, rinse and repeat.
I like this idea. I'm all for removing Jedi from the GCW (minority
)and giving us our own mini-GCW. Maybe call it JSW - Jedi-Sith Wars.
Since the temples would be away from the starports, Jedi have something to do other than fight in the GCW andit would help removeJedi from sight of the general public.
I would also recommend that Jedi no longer cause visibility to other Jedi so that these battles wouldn't attract BH's and we could fight in peace ![]()
Also, I would recommend only having temples on the three adventure planets, dath, endor and yavin. Fewer players are there and a lotmore land to work with. This would also help remove Jedi from sight and making us more mysterious. Imagine regular players coming to yavin, hoping tosee a Jedibattle ata temple (of course they couldn't get into the temple). We practially become a POI ![]()
If there are fewertemples, the vulnerability timer could also be shortened sotemples would be attackable more often, keeping Jedi busy either attacking or defending so we have something to do.

Good points... I actually just posted in another threadthat only non-Jedi PC's should generate visibility for Jedi and that Knights should lose FRS exp for BH deaths, so that the number of Jedi on terminals is drastically cut, so that the smaller number ofanonymous Jediremaining on terminals receive a huge increase of BH punishment (including maybe more BH's showing up as they are fighting the first one) so that Jedi have strong incentives to follow the visibility rule and avoid being seen by, or PVP'ing with, non-Jedi. The idea being, of course, to remove Jedi from the sight of the general public.
Soby combining your points with the Temples idea, wehave a carrot (the Jedi Temples) drawing the Jedi out of sight, and a stick (the visibility system, which now has real teeth) pushing the Jedi to stay out of sight. This is notjusta very effective solutionto the Jedi hatred problem, it also reduces the urge on the devs' part to constantly "balance" us with other professions (read: to constantly nerf us)

Don't be so sure. I used to think that all my effort was going to waste. And now guess what's on test center? Jedi Anonymity on BH Terminals (see the link in my sig, original post about 8 months ago) and no visibility for grouped Jedi (also see the link in my sig).
Sure, maybe they didn't read them, and they just happened to come up with the same ideas because they eminently made sense. Or, it's possible that the strong positive feedback, including positive feedback from some BH,caught the attention of our correspondent or even a dev, and the idea travelled up the chain until it became a reality. We'll probablynever know which of the two it was, but we lose nothing in trying to get good ideas heard. Which is why I'll continue posting, and I hope people will take the time to offer feedback on my ideas so I can improve them along the way. My original "Silver Bullet" post was nowhere near as comprehensive and free of flaws as the current edition, and it's all thanks to feedback both from people who hated it and from those who liked it.
