Now, if unlocking jedi required PvP points -and we all know the best and fastest way is big PvP, you will start seeing action packed evenings with player organized base raids and guild wars and so on.

If you do not enjoy that sort of thing then do not do it! However; as a 750+ day veteran of SWG and a current Jedi I need more from the game. Jedi need more, and non-combat Jedi sounds silly to me!!

what's ridiculous is the amount of full templates running around with very little real PvP experience. They have the skills but have no idea what to do with them. My bounty huter is making almost 1million credits per day when actively hunting! Now bh is getting boring because of all these jedi that cant even play the game!!

Point 1: As many people have already pointed out, the PvP rating is steaming pile of compost, hardlya system that is robust and secure enough to thwart exploitation, let alone become another requirement on the path to Jedi.

Point 2: Non combat Jedi may sound silly to you; it sounds more like a Jedi who has been both fortunate and skilled enough to avoid or defuse conflict in a peaceful manner, more keeping with their ideals than killing several millions Bols or as many BH / Jedi they can line up in a house.

Point 3: I surely did NOT choose to be open to unwanted PvP when unlocked Jedi; rather, I accepted that is now a possibility if I wish to play a Jedi character. There is a difference, can you spot it? The BH / Jedi dynamic is institutionalized griefing, no more, no less. I don't like it, but I did not allow it to dissuade me from pursuing a Jedi character nor does it dissuade me from playing my Jedi now that I have unlocked him. The only thing I can do is work within the system to avoid visibility as much as I know how to, and hope by keeping a low profile I will not have too much difficulty with Bounty Hunters. So far I have been visited once, very early in my Jedi's life, and was killed. I learned the valuable lesson that I need to be wary of my own faction as well as the opposing faction and neutrals.

I understand what you are getting at, but I do notagree with either the gist nor the specifics of your suggestion.

I'm over 750 days... If you want to be a Jedi fighting NPC, go for it. Many Jedi want PvP, I am asking soe to make it possible.

If you don't like bh attacking you, then you,you are one of those Jedi that do not deserve Jedi. This is a combat profession, and this is live internet gaming. Go play pacman.

No one is preventing any Jedi from PVPing. YOU on the other hand think you have the right to tell everyone else that if they don't feel like pvping they aren't fit to play this game. You don't get to make that decision. Being a Jedi means always being at risk for PVP it does NOT however mean you must engage in pvp whenever someone else decides they want you to.

Spending months grinding and unlocking and doing trials doesn't make me your content. That requires my participation.

OK, put the crack pipe down, you are reading things I never wrote. First off, I don't believe that you are 750 days...I believe that teh character might be, but not you. If you were, then you would realize that there are more people in this game besides jedi and pvpers. Everyone needs the opportunity to become a jedi, not just the pvpers. They will learn it in time. Luke Skywalker was a DE and Artisan before becoming FS. I was a Master Swords/ TKM/ Mbrawler before unlocking, I pvped quite a bit...and won a majority of them. But that's not to say that a Master Doc/ TKM can't get jedi because they refuse to engage in mindless starport pvp or fight club. Your suggestion smells of n00bness.

I agree choice is the key. One should choose to engage inPvP. I am saying that the ones of us that do want PvP can not find a steady flow of it. It is at best sporadic and staggered and not sustainable for any reasonable length of time.

I merely suggest one way to eradicate the situation is to install a buffer between filling the six branches for Jedi and Jedi initiate to include PvP.

The true purpose of this post is to engaged the masses in order to yield a viable and acceptable method of delivering PvP Live Internet gaming.

at the all it is not bad idea, but... let me point to something what will be not possible:

1.. i'm sure that lot of people are not enought honorable to play it as you imagine and they will star a new FIGHTCLUBS

2.. there are couple of real LightJedis who are choosing way of not violate or killing path... it is unaceptable to take this idea (think that some people like me, who is already jedi, when i fight with BH every time i will offer him to drop my mision and leave in peace, if he attack againi will kill him, but i will never run into PvP without reason so for me to unlock jedi and there will be required some PvPpoints will have no sance)

---------

but i will give this idea into way where those points isn't required, but if you have them, you can for example be rewarded by 800k forcesensitive xp (yes path of dark is faster... but not stronger)

it will give me more sense it that way ^_^

People who are trying to advance thru the crafting phases of the Village would have a much harder time of it (lower CL due to doctor skills, etc). That's not very balanced

Here is how you get more pvp from Jedi: Make it worth their while. BH gets rewarded for winning pvp battles with Jedi. Jedi only lose. Figure out a way to make it worthwhile for the Jedi to fight and he will fight. Otherwise you won't get people to participate unless they are just bored or they have something to prove.

Exactly that is the point others are making in this thread - you cannot force FS grinders to start PvPing just because you feel a serious lack of PvP opponents. You should look into the GCW forum and help find ways to improve the GCW (thats where SWG PvP is), instead of requiring people that do not want to PvP to start PvPing.

Dont tell anybody youre a Jedi over there, though

Forced PvP. SOE has said forced PvP will not happen, so... bad idea.

Even though Jedi put up w/ BH's, many don't want to. The possibility of being a Jedi is what keeps many ppl playing (we all know it's not because of content) though they might never get it. You force people to PvP to get Jedi and many will just drop SWG and play some other MMORPG. We all know what happened with the recent XP nerf.

Stop trying to "fix" Jedi. if you think there are too many Jedi, get a different MMORPG. Jedi is a fact of life in the SW universe. Always remember, my $15 = 1 vote, just like yours does. PvP will always have fewer votes than PvE. You may not see it in chat, but you'll see it in subscription numbers if they implement such a system. I haveno porblem w/ PvP per se. I just have a problem whenI'm *forced* to do it (and yes, I could "quit", but so could others. Why do THEY stay in and try to change the system to PvP and then say *I* should quit if I don't like it?). My idea of a good time is killing the Katarn with my Jedi; NOT some 16 year-oldcompensating for a miserable RL existence by trying to interfere with my enjoyment (The "If I can't be happy, no one can" complex). I think the the majority of players will agree with this...

I'm with you. I'd rather not deal with the hate that comes from PvP, win or lose. I play the game to have fun, not to have my chat log explode with kids who string letters together to make words professing how great they are and how bad I am. OMGWTFNOOBHAXNFLONABC9PM!!!!!!11!!!!1!!

Just not my style, they can have their fun and I'll have mine.
