Yes, you are draining your force while cloaked, thus generating visabilty within your 32m radius.
And if you are in your private house meditating and a player walks by house, within 32m of you, does that cause visibility?
This, I have no difinative answer for as I never really tested this. I would recomend as it does involve regenerating your force, if you are worried about visabiliy, do not do it. I could be wrong as I believe the basis for visability is on abilities that "consume" force. Do not hold me to this though.

Cool....so it has nothing to do with someone actually "seeing" you....has everything to do with being within certain distance consuming force? Whether you can be seen or not?
Its all based on the coding of the game, and Im pretty sure they are not about to change the rules of visability for one ability, but who knows. I would still consider any ability that consumes actual force points to be abilities that will generate visability within a 32m radius of your character.
The 32m raduis was stated by tiggs way way way back when. Drive bys shouldnt really affect the amount of visability your character has by very much, certainly not enough to get you on the terminals.
Im happy to see a post like this that I can contribute helpful facts to, instead of the normal bitching and nerf cries we see on the forums. These types of vis posts used to be around all the time PreCU, back a year ago, and I missed them ![]()

In grind-groups I see alot of newer Jedi go to the Dantooine Minning Outpost with infusion and Aura macros on. Just because your in a group, it does not mean you stop generating visibility.
They recently removed the ability for group mates to generate visability.

Thank you for making my point! Now alot of newer Jedi seem to think once they are grouped they will not generate visibility. Even in group a Jedi must be aware of their surroundings, NPCs and other players not in group will generate visibility.

I thought the rule was if you use any force CONSUMING activity within 32m of(Non grouped) NON Entity, then you gain visibility. There is no "what about Cloak" or "what about this..." If it consumes force within 32 of a non entity on your radar (or cloaked Jedi, Covered Rifleman) then you get visibility.
When in doubt... just ask yourself "Does that activity require force?" and there is your answer on if it gives you viz.

My bad bro, misread your post. Gettin a tad tired here.
Even if you want to play by the rules, SOE doesn't like to be explicit about rules such as... vis. If the devs ain't talking it might be because they have a clause of confidentiality to abide by. Either way, many players are left guessing and hoping they'll be able to at least get to the stage where they could get away if a BH comes for them.
If only there was a command like /checkvis or something, it would make things so much simpler... when you see your vis climbing, you could decide to either take a break, or assume the risks of said vis.
its actually really easy
doing any of the following actions in front of anything besides a creature, creature layer, or group member will give vis
pulling saber
equiping saber and or robe
ANY ACTION THAT REQUIRES FORCE!!!
this include the smallest things like tuning crystals.
i think i already know the answer to this, but i just want to make certain.
If you already have your saber and/or robe equiped, and walk by non grouped NPCs or PCs, does that generate visability since you have a saber equiped? Or is does it only generate vis if you equip or unequip the saber or robe while close to NPCs or PCs?
if anyone can clear this up for me i would appreciate it, because so far i been unequiping my saber everytime i see someone begining to come in range, or before i go into crowded areas.
Thanks.

I just saw a thread where someone was confused on how visibility actually works. I have asked for a list of current rules from theDevsbut no reply. Lets try to build a list of visibility rules here. Please be serious and lets get a working list together to help out the newer Jedi. Thanks.
I think the standard rules evryone knows. Don't use force in any fashion with a non grped PC or NPC within 32 meters. There are certain items that really need a dircet respone though such as:
1. You're in a grp of 8 and one is a CH and pulls a pet to use, does that pet give vis? How bout droids?
2. Speederbikes, swoops etc within 32 meters some say they give vis others say they don't
3. How much visbility if any is lost off the Jedi if he/she is killed by a BH. Currently its seems that its either not much or bugged as I have seen jedi get hit within 15 minutes of getting killed with no real action to have caused any additonal vis.
