How about if you have force speed on and have no saber or robes on.....or force infusion non-battle but passive force powers....you do not start them in front of the npc however you finsihed battling and drive to the next mission with no saber or no robes but you have force infusion on or force speed and you walk by them?
Also if you are cloaked and walk by an NPC does that give you Visibility?
I hope I made my self clear.
Anything that consumes any amount from your force bar will cause vis. Using force speed and force infusion (the animation) within 32m of nongrouped members or NPC's will give vis. If it is already running before you pass by them you are fine.
what about dueling a group member (with no one else around)? Cant seem to get a definite answer for this.

Still wondering about vehicles, since we cannot cloak around them because they see us.

I have heard a lot of what causes visibility and what doesn't from many people - a lot of which counters what another has said.
I understand the 32 meters rule, but what else causes it?
Does wearing ur robes and having your saber equipted count, or is it just using ur force powers within 32 meters of some one not grouped with you?
Do all NPC's count - or only the ones who can be attacked?
I know this may be a very noob question - so any help for you long time jedi - i would be very thankful
Equipting or unequipting your robes or saber within 32m of any non grouped player or NPC will cause vis.
No unless your saber sparks infront of non grouped people or NPC's or you use any action that will draw from the force pool. i.e. infusion, aura etc.etc.
All NPC's count. Droids and merchant vendors included. the Wookies on Kash are NPC's (incase some didnt know)
nothing is a "noob" question. We were all in the same place at one point in this game.

so is it solid answer having a force passive power such as force speed already active or infusion while not moving your force bar will NOT give vis?
Now cloak uses the force bar so that will give you visibility?
FAQ
Equipping a lightsaber, starting combat with a lightsaber and every Jedi action (powers and lightsaber specials) all have a visibility modifier. Each PC or NPC (non-animal) that observes a Jedi performing one of those actions will increase the Jedi's visibility. Wearing a Jedi Robe and tuning a crystal or pearl do not increase visibility.
