The AB-1 ... best. Speeder. Ever.

Drive one, you'll see.

Speed doesn't matter much when your ride looks so good...

I LOVE the new V-35. I know its not very fast but its wonderful for RolePlay. I already run a taxi service in my RP city.

I'd like to be able to /offerRide to my faction pet, ie. Rebel soldier or stormtrooper. They have to follow me everywhere on foot, and there's a perfectly good passenger seat.

After all they can already join groups. If extending /offerRide to non-players would be onerous to code, then maybe non-ATST faction pets and humanoid droids could understand a "get in the car" command.

That is a great idea.

I always wanted to carry my droids in my vehicle (Before you could call them without a camp), but at least humanoid NPC Pets should be able to do this now.
That would be a great addition to this multi-passenger feature.

Make it so. (Oops, wrong universe...)

I do like the new speeders, it's nice to see a little more variety. I do have one concern though, once everyone has seen the new vehicles I'm afraid everyone will revert back to the swoop simply for speed. Sure you willfind a few players with style that'll pick the speeder that matches their new winged hotpants, but the rest of the galaxy will be fixing their speed addiction. To keep the varietyin the game (whichI guess wasthe intention) how about introducing an additional experimentation parameter that controls speed? Each schematic of course will have a max/min level that is individual, but you maythen find an AB-1 faster than a swoop on the bazaar.

Funny how a mini cooper looking speeder anda city bus looking dealy all take the same resources to make isn't it?

Wonder if my kids go cart has as much metal as the m-1 tank as well... hmm

What was the purpose of wasting development time on this update? Don't you have more important stuff to work on?

This update provided us with 3 new vehicles which were fun and exiting, for about 10 seconds. There is no purpose to drive anything buta swoop really except for role-play and socialevents. Everyone has a swoop and it's still the best vehicle around. Since everyone has a swoop there is no need to ride together. Why didn't you provide us with a vehicle that excel at something? I have used the Ab-1 and V-35 the first slightly faster than the second but both are absolutely horrid to use in terrain. The V-35 basically stands still as soon as it drives up the slightest hill.

from what we've seen in RotJ shouldnt the speederbike carry 2 people?

and thanks for the new speederbike sounds, finally someone took to notice how it sounded nothing like it did from the movie and was actually more annoying, like a room filled with thousands of bees

and I dont understand, I thought the BARC was going to have 2 people? last minute change or something?

I understand what you were saying, it would be nice if each vehicle had more viable uses/benefits/disadvantages and I do not disagree with that.

However, I just wanted to point out to everyone that these two elements, "role-play and social events", were once designed to be equal factes of this game as any other game-mechanic (combat, crafting, etc.)and it would be nice to not see them mentioned as throw-away mentions of uselessness.

So, I think it's great to see these "simple" things implimented.
While the SWG community has all-but-lost these conceptes, hopefully part of the Post-CU purge will bring a focus of these gaming elements back into focus.
A future of this game that has more of role-playing and immersion rather than speed-grinding and math-cruncing min/max-ing gaming sessions.

Hop in your vehicle, take a ride from Ancorhead to Mos Eisley (Avoid the Baddies) and pop into the Cantina for a few cold ones.
Then gather your group and go on an adventure.
As opposed to: Get fixed up for combat, go to adventure planet, race back and forth from mission terminal to mission lairs on the fastest vehcile available.

You may say that I'm a dreamer...
Well (I hope) I'm not the only one.

The new vehicles aren't entirely impractical. Now it's less likely someone in a group will have to walk because their bike was destroyed. In fact a group can reduce its total risk of losing vehicles by packing everyone into multi-seaters; that way fewer vehicles are vulnerable at any time.
