Sorry just couldn't resist, repeat the future. It just struck me as really funny.

Besides not all Star Wars fans like Star Trek, so that argument makes no sense at all.

The problem with removing the ability to do anything AFK is this:
People have found ways to not go AFK. I see people in starports all day long, and they are never AFK. Not sure how, I guess some /stand or something in their macro that keeps it from happening. People started finding ways as soon as they added the option to block text from AFK'ers. Now you just have AFK spammers that aren't marked as AFK, but just the same aren't there. That would be the first thing that needs fixing. Something definately needs to be done though.

Removing the loop from macro's is a bad idea.
People use macro's to advertise their shops, services etc. If you take them away, you'll make everything in the game much harder to find. If they really want to do something about this, they should block /autotarget from macro's. This will prevent people from camping spawns.
Spamming is different, that will require SOE to make an adjustment that basically stops any action a character makes after it has been untouched for several minutes. I.e. someone goes AFK barking, system gets no new input for 15 mins, thenends all macro'sthe charhas been running.
This will make it harder for docs to grind though, since tumblers will decrease. Then again that would also make it easier forplayers that are actually wounded. How many times have you been in a med center only to be ignored in favour of an AFK tumbler?

Ahh, but if you give them a Galactic Bazaar with which to advertise and show their wares......

There is no way to remove recursive macros. The devs will discover this. There will always be a way to execute multiple macros.
That said, I dont think that veteran players should be penalized because they choose to camp Nyax for two or three hours, or perhaps an 8 hour play session....BUT they should not be able to camp day in and day out. Monopolizing the spawn gives an unfair advantage to a single player.

Never say never. Their game, their rules.
And if someone camps it doesn't matter if its 2 hours or 2 days, its still camping.

someone said this was a great game. 1st off , in the current state , this game is a POS. theres 2 professions as far as im concerned. jedi and riflemen. sure being a sword i can solo a nightsister, but whats the point when i end up tanking for a riflemen whos gonna outdamage me no matter what? any riflemen that dies in pvp to a melee class is an idiot.Any jedi who has a finished template that dies PVP is an idiot.
jedi and riflemen. thats it every other (combat) class is pointless.well maybe a TKM to tank for the riflemen/jedi.
the ONLY chance for anyone to outdamage a riflemen or a jedi is if the riflemen or jedi arent at a spawn and someone gets an exceptional weapon.
sure your a fencer stacker and own pvp, OK buddy obviously your not fighting a riflemen with any intelligence.
sure your a carbineer and own PVP, thats thanks to all the DOT's you have.
ARRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH, sorry i had to vent too. im sick of playing jedi rifleman galaxies, and the only reason im here is because a friend paid my account for me.
but hopefully the CURB resolves all of these issues.

The CB is probably another couple of months out. I'd bet on Sept/Oct.

a) Say someone (not me) has a +2000 damage powerhammer.Doesn't he/she have a right to go and kill Lord Nyax? Tell me frankly, if YOU would have such a hammer, would you go to kill Nyax? Very likely answer is yes. why to blame others who does the same? And jedis. Ok, look, guys worked a year to get template in this profession. Could they have some opportunity to be a little stronger than you in PvE when you did your TKA in a week or so? Note, that if you add some more melee branches to your TKA you will be equal or tougher then they in PvP.
Also, I undersatnd you are new, but not so new.... why not to get some attention on the simple fact thatcertain proffs were designed to be "damage" and others was not? If you are so much in this loot thing and want to outdamage others it is not problem of vet/newbie. Pick up right profession (swords or rifles), get a good gun and big group. You will get a loot. AFK thing is bad - /agree, but the fact they are AFK doesn't mean they will outdamage you in 100%. As someone said above -get your group, divide a loot and that's it.
b) Crafters always can make money. Ok. You are chef/BE. Food and drink are always in demand. So: make BE componets shop (would be good to find a fellow tailor to make some BE clothes too), advertise it everywhere, make some money on that, spend all of them on chef's CA, make good food with that, set up shops near Coronet, MO on Danth and maybe Theed and Bestine (dependson if those are popular places on your server),advertise it, you are uber-rich.
c) Didn't get a Tat critters problem. You are TKA. What can possibly kill you on Tat, unless your city is the one near Krayts Graveyard? If eopie kills your TKA toon you're doing something completely wrong.
And the last one. Ok. Someone played this game for almost two years. You played for 3 months. How you come to the conclusion you have to have same amount of money as those? this is very strange.

I had to pick up medic because otherwise I'd be wounded down to 1 ham. The medic/doctor profession is a joke. They don't do what they are supposed to, which is heal people. They grind tumblers to master doctor then just sell everyone buffs, and still never heal.

In response to Alboin:
Response to "A": Yes, he DOES certainly have a right to go and kill Nyax, but hey, call me crazy, but so does everyone else! That hammer isn't a written law by SOE claiming "this guy can hereby loot everything he wants because HE looted/bought this thing, and you underlings just have to shut up and deal."
More often than not, said avatar is only going to cede control of the POI when he needs to rebuff, and given transportation time, that might leave a 20 minute window open for *everyone else* to take a crack at ONE chance to loot versus Mr. 2000's God-only-knows amount.
Honestly it comes down to a question of good form and etiquette, and let's be honest, when it comes to looting a CA potentially worth 10+ mill or possibly even more, it could be the POPE the other person is playing against, and they're still going to KS for as long as they can humanly get away with it. I've seen people screw away their entire relationship with their guild for one ninja-loot, so I don't think eternal damnation would stop someone from muscling out His Holiness for a loot chance.
I liken it to waiting for your turn to play a game at someplace like Toys R'Us (or even at home) when a five-year-old has the controller - he might SAY, "okay, just five more minutes," but the little sh*t doesn't mean it by a damn sight.
-----
Response to "B": Yes, crafters make money, but if you've been paying attention to the demographic amongst a great deal of the servers, you've probably noticed there are only a few places you go to when you're looking for something like weaponry, armor, or consumable items such as food, and these are the 12-pointers.
And yes, you can make money solo grouping and meat hunting, but you need quite a bit of coin to be financially secure enough to afford the weaponry and armor to do so - a pittance to any player that's been playing for 6-9 months (if he/she wasn't lazy), but 500k-1m can seem like an insurmountable goal to a newbie. It's only easy to make money in this game when you're sitting on it.
----
Response to "C": It's not really directed at me - but TKs are really only good for tanking and the occasional PvP slugfest. In PvE against anything with AP2 or better, even TKMs are woefully outmatched.

you right he does have the right to go camp nyax...
the problem lies thus: why the hell is thereone source of regular and predictable high end loot in the game that's a static spawn....
now if SOE announcedthis in a publish....
New immensely powerful enemies have been spottedwandering the planets (non static) to best them in combatwill be a mighty challenge but withgreat victory comes great reward...
and remove all high end loot from static spawns
try camping a random spawn....
