But pearls aren't required to make a saber, just if you want an uber one, but since Jedi want to be uber, they say they need flawless pearls, which is untrue. And guys, this game isn't about loot, it's about star wars and the GCW. Not having uber high end loot isn't a game breaker. Most looters don't even keep any loot, they sell it just to make more money. Hence why I said money hungry. If you really cared about the Jedi, you'd give them pearls and crystals, not sell for multiple millions of credits.

I looted three crystals just yesterday on Valcyn. Not a jedi toon though, so they're not of any use to me other than sellable loot.

So now you are saying that I should give away loot that I WORKED to get? maybe on TC that works...but on the servers where things cost millions and a 4 piece armor suit costs over 1 mil...then I'm sorry to tell you that you will never see pearls/crystals of high rating just being given away, unless it is toa guild member.

First flipityfloo. Some believe that pearls tend to tune better. Also, Krayts are extremely easy to kill. They are always kenetic, ap 0, so all you need is some 80% kenetic comp, and you are always good to go. Krayts really don't hit all that hard. Their base attack is for about 1000. Intimidate takes that to 500, and 90% damage reduction from armor takes it to about 50 per hit. You regenerate fast enough, that you don't even need novice medic to fight them. After patch 13, Krayts are so common, you can walk accross the graveyard on the backs of ancients without toutching the sand once.
Elders, on the other hand, they are real sport. They can get ap 2 weapons, can use blast, stun and electric damage (ya, stunners are really bad). They force choke, force kd, and their bleeds are very badass. If one happens to buck intimidate and hit you with a bleed, you will be ticking for about 1000. These girls don't mess around. Elders are much harder to find than krayts. Sure, you can go to a poi, but then it is 20 mins between spawns, not 3 mins like the graveyard. Additionaly, very rarely does an elder drop something of value other than a pearl. Crappy lances and warm hats just don't compare to krayt tissues. Basicaly, Krayts have the uper hand on Elders in almost every way.

Yes, you are right, pearls and crystals are not required to make sabres. However, this is equivelant to saying that 10 experimentation points are not required to make weapons. No roundies to put in the sabres is the equivelant of going streight from assembly to output hopper with no experimentation. Imagine if there was a bug that prevented experimentation. Sure, we would still be able to buy brand new weapons, but would they be even close to prenerf weapons made with 10 experimentation points. Would this be an issue? Yes.
Do you really believe that loot has nothing to do with the GCW? There are a fiew ways to get better at pvp. Practice, change templates, get better equipment. Practice is something that is always happening. Changing templates doesn't need to happen all that often, because anyone can get any template in a week (one of SWGs strong points imo). Once you have a new template, it is time to practice, and get better equipment. If you stick strictly to out of the factory weapons and armor, you quickly reach the limit of what is possible. Practice only makes you so perfect. With factory equipment, you are only going to reachthe limit of your abilities, no matter how much you practice. In order to progress beyond this point requires looted components for your weapons and armor. It is not possible to devorce loot and PvP. You can try, but i gaurentee you, you are going to get pwned by people who do care about loot, and are willing to spend time improving their abilities with loot. I guess if you don't care about winning, and don't care if you get pwned, cool. The rest of us appreciate your willingness to be so generous with your PvP rating.
Do i use the pearls/crystals I loot? No.Do armorsmiths and weaponsmiths use the items they create? No. We all sell them. I am quite glad I do not need to have crafting alts to make all of my equipment. I imagine Jedi are glad to have pearl and crystal merchants who are willing to sell them roundies so that they can use their time to grind exp instead of chasing krayts. If you want to play a game where everyone is self sufficient, i recomend you leave SWG.
I spend my time looting pearls and crystals because i am quite good at it. What I need are SEAs and Acklay Bones. Since i suck at camping Nyaxor the Borgle Bat Cave, and the Acklay hates me (The best thing i have looted is a set of 11 1400 acklay poisons. Woot). As for thebit about really caring about jedi and giving them the roundies, that is such a stupid comment that i will assume you are being sarcastic and funny. If you are serious, aren't you the guy who has a post on the jedi forums saying that getting to jedi is way too easy, and needs to be made much harder? Harder as in free crystal and pearl harder? Not following your logic.
....but then again, I thought Jedi were supposed to be rare....as they should be, but clearly aren't (grumble)....just my 2.05 creds

In case you missed all the afk players, they just turn off auto-afk and keep on going.

dude...seriously...stop playing the game and join the comedy club circuit...you are too funny. NS Elders don't drop crystals as consistently as Krayt do pearls which is why people are not happy that they are not dropping anymore, and btw...Elders do not always drop "premium" rated crystals, I have looted "Quality" from them as well. And maybe you missed what I said in my other post. Armor isn't free, Buffs aren't free, food isn't free, weapons DEFINITELY aren't free, but yet you think i should not charge for Pearls/Crystals. And in case you missed the last patches...if you are (AFK) then you can't do anything.
Several Millions = more than 5.
Like I said, FLAWLESS were going for 2 mil a pop...thats what the min was on a premium pearl before the "Boom". Personally, I think you are jealous that you don't have a template capable of killing the things that you see people making money off of. So before I say something here that will get me banned, I will end this with a "Good Game". Oh and a "CRY MORE NOOB!!!"

This is an old argument that was obsolete when the devs put in the silly village system, thus making Jedi even easier to attain.
If I got 10 credits each time someone mentioned this ancient obsolete argument I'd have enough money to afford pearls for 5M credits each...
Unfortunately, that's not the case so like all non 50/-9 (x4) ADK Jedi out there, I'm hosed until something gets fixed with the Krayt situation.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. The problem is pearls were dropping like mad when the spawnrates increased. Folks got used to it, and are now complaining that their (almost) free beer has been taken away.
