Items And Loot Archive
Thread: Unequal treatment of rebel items.
All that being said, I do wish there were more rebel outfits and such... but all in good time.. SOE has a ton to deal with before something so trivial.
So because someone wants to play a game for enjoyment and have the availability of old loot as well as new loot that means they need to grow up? What crawled up your butt?
I missed getting the Rebel Endor helmet by a month. That sucks for me. I was around for the One year anniversary painting though. That wasn't loot though. That was a gift. Just like the wookiee life day items. I chose to get the robe for my Wookiee because I wasn't playing my current character for the first wookiee life day. I am glad they gave me that option for my current character. Does that mean I need to grow up? Not at all.
Hmm, someone's complaining about armor.
Here's a few things to keep in mind:
Have you ever played as a Wookiee? They can't wear ANY faction armor
Have you ever played as an Ithorian? They can't wear ANY faction armor either.
Have you ever played as a Trandoshan? They can't wear gloves or boots
Have you ever played as a non-Human/Zabrak Imperial? They can't wear ANY Imperial helmets except for the Ace Pilot helm. I have to wear a Mabari Helm with my Scout Trooper Armor.
and as other have stated, Rebels are the underdogs, they SHOULDN'T have the best gear in the galaxy.

What do tapes have to do with anything? Are those not acquireable by anyone, regardless of faction?
I believe the reference was to +25 tapes, which were being looted from DJK/DJM who were generated by an imperial only questfromthe prison on Dathomir.

Mater_Gunfighter you are an even bigger whiner than the original poster. According to your spoiled brat opinion someone can join the game next year and demand something that was only available in year one and be able to get it. I'd bet if you had joined the game after the 1 year anniversary paintings were already given out you would be demanding them still. According to you every single loot ever put in game should always be available because some player does not realize they cannot get everything. I am 100% against the devs recycling loot. Give us new stuff! To the people who want to have it both ways....Grow Up.
First, let me ask you to grow up. I'm not the one calling people names and getting upset.
Ok... Hehe... Allow me to swing the contunity bat a little.
The Rebel Fleet Trooper uniform (as it has come to be known; the one from the First battle in ANH): This was NOT a rebel uniform, but rather the uniform of the Royal House of Alderaan. Yeah, they fought the Stormtroopers, but that doesn't make them rebels. Heck, those guys might not even have supported the Rebellion for all we know. However, as it HAS (in the nearly 30 years since ANH came out) come to be the accepted uniform for basic rebel grunts, then you guys should probably get them.
They did NOT know that they were helping the Rebellion. The only people that knew about the Rebellion were the Royal Family, Captain Antilles, and the other high level military personal. The only reason that the guards were shooting at the Stormtroopers was because Captain Antilles told them to, to save the Princess. They MIGHT have realised when they were fighting the troopers, that the reason WHY they were fighting was just more then saving Leia.
The rebel flight suit: I don't know about this one. It certainly came across as a uniform that was solely for the use of the Rebellion. But then, Bossk wore something REALLY similar. And it's not like we saw a bunch of non-affiliated space outfits in the films. Maybe that ugly orange crap was what the Free Traders wore somewhere off-screen...
No, it was not a uniform, it was just something cheep that the Rebellion could get without arousing(SP?) suspection.
The hoth outfit: Not really armor, IMHO. But definately a uniform of sorts. That said, the only thing that made it a MILITARY uniform was the rank insignia. (This uniform was in actuality the uniform worn by a Norweigian ski rescue team that played most of the extras on Hoth. It was easier to make a few for the main roles than create outfits for a whole bunch of extras.)
Again, this stuff wasn't really a uniform. It was, like the flightsuit, something that they could get cheep and easily. When they got them, the commanders put their insignia on it so that they could tell the officers apart, because they are all wearing the same thing.
Rebel Officer Uniform (ROTJ): In Jedi we finally saw what should be accepted as the TRUE Rebel uniform. By this point, the Rebellion was a strong group that was (as it happened) on the verge of winning the Civil War. The incident at Alderaan caused a lot of neutral systems to go Rebel and fund their operations, giving the group money for niceties such as uniforms.
Yes, at this point in time they were able to buy some armour from compaines that were sympithetic to the Rebellion.
Another thing to take into account: The Rebellion is an illegal group. My children cannot wear blue or red clothes to school because of the possibility that they MIGHT indicate gang affiliation. Now from a realistic viewpoint, do you REALLY think that rebels would be likely to go around flying their colors? The Empire as we know it is not what you would call a forgiving organization. I don't care if you are overt, covert, on-leave, combatant, or special forces. If you are wearing ANYTHING indicating that you are loyal to one side and the other side is in power, you are a viable target.
Thank you for saving me a bit of typing. ![]()
Summary: From a game playing person's point of view, yeah... You rebels are screwed. You don't have nearly the options we Imperial types have. Bummer. But from the POV of one who wants to play a game that feels as much like the movies as possible? No, rebels should NOT be running around in uniform. The game is currently fixed at the time between ANH and ESB. At that point, the Rebellion was still small and didn't have a lot of spending cash. Let them remain motely until the time of ROTJ.
Just my two cents.
Just mine as well.

Jellyfish hologram vs. Star Destroyer?
Arc-170 vs Jedi Starfighter?
Storm trooper armor vs. wacky looking yellow-greenish rebel armor?
At-St vs. I don't even know what the rebs get? shuttle pickup?
No wonder everyone's an Imp in this game.
