It's not just the loot piles that are the problem. Guys with more than toon are a problem.
Go sit a Master Doctor or appropriate alt character at Lord Nyax. >>>> Play your other character as normal. >>>> Keep switchinguntil spawn. >>>> Once spawned, bring your main combat char to Nyax. >>>> Get a self buff. >>>> Kill Nyax. >>>> Loot. >>>>Rinse & Repeat

wyr wulf not a bad idea. No logging out in dungeons, caves, etc. and random timers on the loot spawn. say every 15 to 120 mins?

That's just not true. I was Master Musician myself and don NO AFK-leveling or -playing. Of course, I used a few macros, mainly songs I made up and a leveling-macro, but I alway was at the keyboard to chat with my customers.
The problem is: most players rush into the cantina, get their mind wounds & BF healed and rush out, without saying a word or tip the musician. Well, if you treat entertainers like NPC's you'll be having a hard time finding one soon.

Of course, this should be a reply to Grisbilen's post...sorry. My browser sometimes mixes up things a little bit on this board.

Sad that really all the posts on this really hit the same problem, people who play this game like they're the only ones in it- and having to interact with other players is an inconvenience.
Loot campers: Sorry SOE but it is LONG OVERDUEthat you instance the dungeons/ POIs, this should be done yesterday not something to wait for the CURB. The people that camp these places obviously have no control over themselves- they're like gamblers, always waiting for the big score, problem is, unlike gambling they have nothing to lose except time, which is usually other peoples' time. Since other people are hte ones that end up wasting their time getting buffed, maybe even bothering to get a group together for a fun POI hunt only to find that the reason they're going is camped, or even better, already cleared with someone waiting for the respawn. And, mark my words, if they don't fix this by the CURB, this will be game-breaking. Instance the dungeons and let everyone play the game.
AFK macroing: Good and bad. I use 1 recursive macro myself, and I can already see how interesting it'll be doing without it. (CoB macro btw) But getting rid of this I do understand does more good than harm. Though I do believe SOE will have to try to fill the vacancies it leaves. Like, who exactly is going to be there to buff the early morning/late night crowds? And then theres the problem of so many jaded entertainers whohave had to deal with the "buff me now" azzhats that SOE seems tocater toso much. Most of the entertainers I knew and love have left the game, never to return, a few I've known have stayed and become buffbots. Why? Because when they choose to entertain ATK they can, otherwise they put themselves in a place to enforce payment and they don't have to deal with some of the "people" in this game, then they can enjoy playing their alt.
Though I do wish that the entertainers would just do all the rest of us a favor, those of us who do tip, cheer, heal, and sit and chat with em: put all the true tools in this game on /addignore, and when they've been rude to enough people in this game, let them reap the benefits when the recursive macros "go away" and they have no one and no way to rid themselves of bf or mind wounds. Not all of us who choose combat profs are jackazzes at heart and I've enjoyed many a friendly chat with an outgoing ATK entertainer, try not to punish us all for the foolish actions of a few.
/back on topic
Fix the lott-camping the best way possible for all SOE: Instance the dungeons!!!!......pretty please???

Thank you FingerofThrawn. Instancing the loot locations and perhaps randomizing their locations and spawn times would help a great deal.

Perhaps the Nightsister Queen could spawn randomly on Dathomir with a group of her buddies after reset and the only way to find her is to search the entire planet. And, obviously she'd stay there until someone killed her. Also, it mightstop people who go solely for her, as theres no way of telling if she'd been killed or not. This gives otherpeople a better chance of finding her. Same could be done with other spawns. If people want her that bad, they can trapse all over Dathomir...
Could do this with other static spawns like Nyax too, except he spawns every few hours as per usual. This way, it could more with the luck, rather than who can get there fastest. And of course, they could spawn in their respective homes every once in a while
Just an idea.

no need for 3rd party software, just make a very very long macro and put it in a text file, then create a macro to read the textfile

Removal of looping macros = removing of BF healing
I dissagree about this. I am a musician and if I was able to get some money from Buff's and actualy Entertain I would spend a lot more time doing it. Also with the fix of register location for Musicians and Dancers people can find out were they are and will be abel to heal wihtout a problem.
I do agree it might mean a few less about in the packed cantines but this will improve game play 100% for the Entertainers that want to PLAY there charachter.

they simply should define most POI (entry point based one should be easy, areas like Krayt is a harder one) as unique places. If someone wants to enter theres a quick load, and a newly generated POI separated just for the player (or the team he/she leads). No more kill/lootstealing. Off course loot-spawn should be adjusted, like it generates at entry, and every 8/24/48h after that (if it gerenrates rarely, U might help others getting the same in her/his "own" POI just for being nice, or some XP...). This way the markets wont be overwhekmed by +8 tapes and krayt pearls, but everyone can get an own with own hands! (loot is not just about money, its about excitement as Xmas...) and a bit more rare could push down the prices, witch may needed since the sologroup nerf.
OK, I think thats a good idea, but surely have flaws, please comment - DEVs, U might as well just do it!

i don't know if anyone is aware, but there seems to have already been a semi-fix put into place for what are supposed to be the rarer items in the game. Now hear me out before you ridicule, cos i didn't believe this at first, either...
It seems to find things like spinner blades and feed tubes, you need to loot a specific way (ie a way not doable with a looping macro). You cannot (or at least the drop rate is so low this way, you might as well not) loot some items by using the text command /loot or a macro employing it. The drop rate increased by roughly 3x when i began to use the radial menu (or double-clicking corpses - same thing effectively), taking this measurement by the amount of time spent to results yielded.
Test this for yourselves. I have only tried it so far on Hidden Daggers of Corellia for spinner blades. I spent somewhere in teh neighbourhood of 7-10 hours looting for feed tubes in the Tuskan Fort and did not loot a single item using the /loot command (I found it easier to apply it to a hotkey), so I am assuming this is in the same ballpark, b/c others have looted 1 an hour or immediately upon their arrival to the Fort.
I was skeptical at first too, but it made more sense to me when i thought of it as a possible band-aid for afk looters.
let me know what you think!

I have found that the loot macro i run still does not work completely. You have to be atk to actually loot all your kills. Plus when I am sitting trying to rock my daughter to sleep, Starting dinner, and doing everything I need to when running a household... it helps to get 300 hvy wpns exp a kill on guys outside the cities. I don't really care about the loot as much as grinding while I can do my normal routine. This is the only way i have kept up with some of my friends who have mastered 3-4 professions and started when i did. I have yet to master my elite profession.
Yes this is a good way to make some cash, but really it doesn't matter if the macro is there or not, I will still be there semi-afk to get my daughter to sleep and still grind. As far as the bots.. I agree to a point. I really think the bots for ent and some of the buff bots are the only way to get late night early morning players buffed/healed. I know we have bots in our city that are there for the guild. These guys also are at the keyboards more than half the time, and stay out of player areas. That is the biggest problem.. an AFK bot doc in the middle of Coronet. I am sorry I would rather get my buffs in Coro from a guy at the keys than go travel 15 min to get buffs from the bot. I do however appreciate the fact thatI go to three starports and 2 cantinas and I know there is still a place I can heal and buff.
