Thread: Loot Camping Solution in the works?

This has probably already been mentioned- but maybe only let an individual character loot a certain "pile of bones" or "container" in a dungeon every i dont know 12 hours or something, so you dont have the login and loot, rinse/repeat looting program/macros you see about.

Afk entertainers should be in player city cantinas where they are needed NOT in the main city cantinas where there are or would be plenty of ents who need XP if they weren't being driven out by Bots.
Talus has loads of player cities and most of the time they are empty and the only place to get a buff or healed on Talus isat our guildhall just outside of Daeric. I used to own a player city cantina before I moved out of the city and although it took a while it became the place to be.. and so will the guildhall. The problem is that most players who place cantinas DONT work in them.. they throw it down and go elsewhere because it takes too much work to make it work and they cant be bothered... or they want to be where the money is. Make your player city cantinas work dont AFK in main cities, in the end it really does pay to put the effort in .. both for you and your cities in general.
The entertainment profession has taken a big hit since the xmas holo mess... most of the good entertainers have left or moved on to other professions but it's not too late to make Entertaining as good as it used to be for everyone.
The problem lies on both sides... take the bots out of the big cities and people who use ents .. show a little manners and respect, not everyone is a buff bot and even those who are afk a lot are there to make your life a bit easier. People used to value entertainers and the service they provide , now they just act like you dont exist and conversation seems to be a lost art. Ents if you would just quit spamming emotes and talk to people properly, quit whinging about tips and heals and actually do your job .. there are still people out there who will appreciate you if you make the effort. If you cant entertain.. pick another profession. I never had a problem making money as an entertainer so if you cant make a living at it.. find something else you are good at.
and one last note ..sorry I know this isnt an ent gripe forum.. but if the master dancers would quit being so selfish after they mastered and refusing to group with novices... geez that really gets up my nose. Back in the good old days before buff bots and afk buffers, masters were only too happy to group up to help novices get better xp.. now they just wanna sit solo with an autojoin and afk... make player city cantinaswork... they are the best way forward for entertainers nowadays and where the buff bots are really needed.

i also would love to see something done about this. i mean- sheesh, is the loot that great that they must camp a spawn for it? they can always get mission with the same npcs. the worst instance of this as of late for me would have to be the meatlump campers. right in view of the city, theyre just sitting there killing and killing and killing in one hit, looting whatever is dropped. i HATE it. the meatlumps are good xp for my much younger characters, as well as my non combat crafter.

Everyone who has posted on this forum has good points but arnt we leaving out two professions here, I mean come on what of the Doc's and Cm's the craft grinding is murder. loop marcos help alot in where you dont have to keep clicking on the same dam thing twice over and over and over again, with the marco all you need to do is selcet the resource and thats it. people would go insane with the craft grinding even artsian know this pain has well and any other player who is doing to crafting part. what I think is they should get rid of the combat loop marco's and yes I know everyone is saying it and leave the noncombat marcos that loop alone so that entertainers Doc's Cm's and any other crafting profession dont go insane drop the dam profession and move on to the combat ones. Think this way if you still dont see my point, no loop marco's for them cant deal with the grind in crafting, drop it go combat. LESS CRAFTING PEOPLE THE LESS VENDERS THE LESS GUNS/ARMOR ETC ETC ETC ETC. see my picture, im just looking in the long run not nowif they completly screw the marco's permintly.

And one more thing I forgot to tell, loop marco's should be only usable by completly NON-combat related proeffesion. I know I would kill myself for saying this due to CM is a combat related type proeffesion but well you know.

people will just use the ingame copy paste thing a billion times and make really long macros......problem still a problem

I amNOT talking about looping macros AT ALL. That subject came up after the start of the thread. I mean the folks who stay in a spawn for acklay or Axkva Min or something else and buff themselves over and over or log out and log in at the spawn (borgle cave) and continually camp the loot.

This is not about macros this is about loot camping. Now go look at the In Live forum and see the post about things like Nayx and Acklay re-spawning on 10 min timers and the peopls camping them more now than ever.

Well I can say for the most part it is a very good patch, as for the POI spawn times I think thise needs to be thought over, everything spawns faster, so you can get more XP and now you have given spawn camping new meaning. I have said it for more than a year now the (Boss MOB's) Acklay, Nayx and others should be on random timers, not a set time, they should only re-spawn after who ever kills them exit the cave, dungen or what ever, no more logging out in caves only to log back in in the same place it should kick you out. Please take a look at this, and look at what you have created.

100% agreed. I'd rather see them spawn every 10hours than every 10minutes.

And, when these static spawns do pop up, that room should be instanced so that only the player or the group that entered has access to that instance. If someone else comes along, they enter an entirely different instance of the room thereby preventing killstealing. In addition the room should have a timer that once the spawn is killed plus 5 mins, the room will end that instance kicking the player or players out if they have not left already. Ending the instance will also start a timer for the that player or group not allowing any of the members to reenter that room for a set period of time.

A solution in the works? Please.. take a drive out to Nyax now and count the afk campers after the 12.1 publish. If you thought it was crazy when people were just trying to make a new painting for their house, well.. lol.

Anyone with a 3rd party which would be obvious in buffbots to be reported you mean..
There's no way to trace the use of 3rd party macro's from SOE's end with out an illegal invasion of privacy of there users not to mention about 10-15 other laws.
