After mastering ID on TC during publish 9, I'll tell you a bit about the update. AFAIK this is it.

Some mediocre music that, at this point, still isn't working.

Grinding ID is now possible in 10 solid days if you have an alternate character to migrate.

In other words, a hologrinder will get through ID without too much trouble, since they are the sort to be online 24/7 and put up with an alarm going off every 10 minutes. However, a casual player will not be able to get any fun hair colours or styles, or change their skin colour, et cetera, for literally months. How does this help anyone? It is a miniscule speedbump to hologrinders (a profession supposedly gone soon anyway), and it all but killed my interest in ID until I foundout I could clean my house and write some lab reports while I waited 10 minutes for a little alarm to call me back to click two buttons.

This is definitely immersion, I just don't want to think about what I'm being immersed in.

There is only 1 good point about this whole change: getting master is a huge rush. Suddenly I have finished an utterly absurd grind, and the timer change is a good thing (even as a novice I felt that way): now at least I can do what I've always wanted with my ID, and rapidly change things about myself on a whim, without having to sit around picking my nose for five minutes. If ALL the timers were cut an additional 50%, I might actually think the devs were listening a little, and only not budging on the stat migration issue.

So...should I change my signature to say "Novice Stat Migrator" ?

what needs to be done is to have the sessions designed t give a proportionately equal xp for each new skill obtained like its was in the old system
but on a larger scale if you do more than 1 change you should get more xp let say eyes a hair job and stat migration hair gives 50xp
eyes 150 xp and stat migration 600 xp now instead of just getting a flat success rate add in a small level of dificulty like for crafters if you succeed you add in all the xp ergo total exp from session 800 xp instead of just 600 from the stat migration cumon we all know that not all ID sessions are one change only some want a full body make over let the xp reflect multiple changes done in one session

i just picked up ID again after getting fed up with architeck
im not new at it but it took me 4 days to get novice and another day to get my first box in the id tree in any other proffession you could be a master any thing in 4 days if you work hard enough

do another revamp but concientrate on fixing the xp system please

So much negativity! It's sad.

I like having somewhere to sit in the salon. I like that I get more exp for migrating stats. There may be other things that I would like changed, but I'm not going to whine because they weren't changed this time around.

What I really don't understand is why so many people are complaining about how they are forced to find something to do for ten minutes while they are stat migrating. Personally I talk to my customer, maybe give them a makeover. ID is an innately social profession and if you don't want to be sociablethen I'm curious to knowwhy you are doing it.

One person commented about how no one is going to be purely ID, and another complained that sitting in a tent all day waiting for customers doesn't compare with going out hitting stuff. I'd be surprised if anyone is purely any one profession. And if you miss hitting stuff, go out and do some of that. Personally I find that ID fits nicely in with my crafting. I can craft away happily while waiting for customers, and if someone wants to do an AFK stat migrate rather than be sociable then I can craft some more.

I really really like the salon change. I saw the new look awhile back in the test center and had been waiting for some time to play my ID again with the assumed promise of drop of wait time. I log in and learn that only the masters get this. I can not emphasize my disgust strongly enough. I have weaponsmiths and the boring gridning wait is nothing like it continues to be for ID. I can only work on myself there are very few other folks and no one willing to sit for 2 minutes for exp for me and never the wiat for stat migration. (How much has the exp but upped to)

I dropped ID once before and so disgusted I may just junk the whole character.

Oh i like the music though.

Sounds…interesting. A few questions:

  • How do you intend to address the further devaluation of non-Master Image Designers caused by the Master Image Designer timer reductions?

  • Increasing stat migration XP is good, but:

    • Most image designers do not enjoy performing stat migrations. They are tedious, the types of players that want them are not the type that enjoy socialization, and in general there are harassment issues over pricing.

    • Assuming an Image Designer were to level in an "optimal" fashion it would still take 39 hours, 11 minutes, and 40 seconds of straight Image Design work. This is still not in line with other elite professions and is not justified by the "critical function" that was forced upon us.

    • It was bad enough that a "critical function" was forced upon us in such a way that it changed the tenor of the profession to such a degree that not only was a preemptive nerf required, but that we now have a thread solely detailing how to deal with in-game harassment. Now you're making it the most attractive method of gaining XP in Image Design, further devaluing the aesthetic core of the profession.

    • How do you intend to account for these issues and to bring Image Designer XP gain into line with other elite professions?

  • Uh…music. Yay. How about XP gain? Please? This is a game breaking issue as evidenced by the myriads posts about it—this needs to be addressed with more than a vague promise that it is being monitored.

Just a question?

How do you come to 39hours 40 min? What do you mean by straight. If you do straight stat migrates, it will take 24 hours, 17 min, unless my skill tree xp referrence is wrong. 290K total ID xp to master?

I think it will take way longer than the 39 hours. The last poster mention that you could do it much quicker if you found someone to constantly stat migrate. WHO in the heck would put up with that? When stat migrate first came out I only got to do maybe 4 a day. Now im lucky if I get 1 a week.

I'd warrant that it's now easier to get a jedi then it is to master ID.

6000XP using cosmetic changes = 1 hour

35000XP using physical changes = 4 hours, 51 minutes, 40 seconds

400000XP using stat changes = 33 hours, 20 minutes

Total time: 39 hours, 11 minutes, 40 seconds

Of course, you can't do a partial physical session, so it's actually 39 hours, 12 minutes, 30 seconds. And that's only in-session time, it does not include time between sessions, time finding victims, et cetera.

Heehee. It took about that long for me to master Musician. Stop stressing over the numbers and go play the game.

Prices on the game shar resemblance with RL. Inflation is going up in how everyone makes money, but they still complain when prices go up to keep everything equal!
