Thread: Newsflash: ID Building (Tent) now on Test Center
Really like the tents, but seeing i'm native to naboo... closest one is theed...and i tend to avoid theed as much as i can...i hang around more at my PA city, so having it a player building would be very nice
on a side note...having it so close to the cantina in theed is really bad location.... u still get all the macro spams... so i hope if they dont make it player building, that these terminals will at least not be necessary to use during an ID job..if they are necessary i suppose it means my ignore list will grow... probably resulting in many people screaming at me for an ID job as i blankly stare into space

The tents look nice altho not what I expected. I have some comments ...most are already posted tho.
- good light
- ability to place a tent by ID
- I am tailor and image designer. I do total makeovers for people and sell clothing in my shop. Am I now to go to a NPC city to do that and return to my shop to dress someone up? I want a tent where i can place vendors. Display my clothes and such. I am sure other IDers havesecond artisan professions with the same wishes.
It means that you don't have to be in the tent to do any skills you can already do without a tent

So what does it mean that it doesnt tie to our current skills? They are going to make us go up another tree to use having to give up other things for the skill points to do that?
Ashalee, we DID vote for an ID building. If you are concerned about what makes it to the wish list sent to the developers please become more active on this forum. A tent was not exactly what we were envisioning but overall it has gotten very positive feedback from ID'ers and customers as to its exterior look. As for goodies, they are coming in the mini publish, not long to wait now

Honestly.................... I am very disapointed with this new publish.I mean yeah the droids are cool. I got me a entertainer one the day of publish for my dancing...... BUT a tent? i mean come on..... Us ID'ers need more then just a TENT we are loosing business bad because no one can be different from others. I keep getting complaints from other players that everyone looks the same and there is no uniqueness to anyone. We all look like Final Fantacy Char who all look the same.
I mean from my understanding.... We were supose to get lots of new stuff but now we have to wait for them in mini publishes. And you say its has to do with graphics and computer arts? well why didn't you take the Time that you spent building that really pointless tent and spend that time on Stuff for IDer's like our own customer Color pallette like the program *paint* has...... or make a few new hair styles. Or give us body tattoo's or piercings. I mean really i am so upset and along with all other IDer's i know we are about to all just drop the profession..... We don't benifit from it at all...... Not one bit because people can't get new stuff so when they do change something they pay less because its not different to them its all the same....and if you give a reasonable price they say for get that i will just go normal like everyone else. So please Next time you need to make a vote with other IDer's on what they want first..... because i am sure alot of us wouldn't not have Voted for a Tent that doesn't even work and just sits there and looks cute. I mean come on my Char on SWG is cute and i can sit there and look cute just fine i don't need a tent to do that for me. So please next time see what we want most before you go and promise one thing and give us the stupidest thing you could have given.............. A TENT *might i add that doesn't work*

Yes, we may have voted for the tent - or a building in general - but that is not to say we voted for being tied to NPC cities or for having pre-Glasnost queues in front of ID tents.Itwill be clear that the Image Designers have questions and concerns. Simply stating, like some have, that we have to wait and see just won't do. We got our tents, now please inform us. I for one would like to know the following things.
1. Why have the devs decided not to make the tents placeable in player cities? To reply to the argument that it is not logical to find a plastic surgeon in every town I'd like to point out that a lot of our work is not just plastic surgery but also - the more common - hairdressing and make up,and that player cities can have banks, cantinas, hospitals and what not - one might wonder if that's logical too.
2. Will Image Designers be tied to the major NPC cities? The answer that our current skills will be tent-free does not suffice. We can't be proper Image Designers with only half our skills available.
3. Are our concerns for long queues in front of the tents, or people who keep occupying the ID terminals, valid? And if so, why has this decision been made?
The answers to those questions might help to solve a lot of the unrest and worries of the ID community and I hope we will get a serious reply.

The devs are very much aware that we would like to see the tents in player cities, and will be monitoring the whole tent situation as well as feedback from us once we're actually using the tents. For now they want things to happen in these five tents.
Neitherour presentskills norour two newartsy skills(newcolors & particle effects)willbe tied to the tent. In fact you won't ever have to go near a tent if you don't want to
Ideally the tents wouldn't have even been known to anyone until what was going to happen or not happen in them was finalized. Unfortunately it had to be that way. I say unfortunately because the information about the tents still hasn't been released and so the tents' presence is just causing confusion and worry (though some excitement too of course) ![]()
Edit - Changed confusing wording, sorry about that

Thank you Kwee for your reply.Your suggestion that the devs will monitor the use of these new ID tents closely is of some comfort to me though at this time I still have some worries which I have mentioned above. I agree with you that it probably would have been better for people's (andmore specific my own)peace of mindif the tents and the implementation of new skills would have come simultaneously.
However, you also remark that only half of our skills will be tied to the tent and from that remark you seem to draw the conclusion that we won't ever have to use the tent if we don't want to. In my opinion, a true Master Image Designer should be able to do anything possible in the field of Image Design - so I disagree with you that we won't have to use the tent. But as you suggested, we'd probably do best to wait for the next minipublish. Unfortunately patience isn't one of my assets.

I think you misinterpreted what Kwee said (I hope!). You said "We can't be proper Image Designers with only half our skills available" and Kwee said that half of our skills will not be tied to the tent, which I think means that your concerns are not really true. I don't think she is implying that the other half of our skills *will* be tied to the tent. From the tiny bits of information that have been given, it sounds to me that all of our skills will be available outside of the tent. I think that the tent adds something new which is not directly tied to image design as we know it. For example, what I have been hoping is that it will allow us to present and give a full makeover all at the same time instead of doing all the different pieces one at a time and trying to reassure the customer that it will all come together in the end. Right now, even if the new user interface allows this, no one has enough mind to do more than a few changes at once. Maybe the tent terminals will allow us to do this without the mind penalty. I really have no idea of what they do, but hopefully we will find out soon!
Hm…uberID: Master Image Designer / 2-0-0-0 Teras Kasi Artist / 114 skill points of other stuff. 1100 mind + 550 powerboost—then you could do a whole lotta changes at once

Thats true. With the right templates and buffs you could make quite a few changes and and still be ready for PvP! So I will change this to say that there is no way that *I* can change more than a few things at once. I think that with the maximum buffs for me (entertaner, canapes and brandy), a weight, chin and nose combo would mean instant incap! I wonder if the person I was IDing could deathblow me if they didn't like the changes....
