Point well taken, I'm going to just shut up and leave this forum. The last thing I want is for our buffs to get further screwed up.

Trust me, I don't want your buffs to get messed up any worse, either—I loves me some Musicians…and I'm working on it with one of my alts on TestCenter right now.

I was in here all weekend clicking every profession forum I could find looking for information from the fan fest that affected Image Design, and I really couldn't come up with anything solid. I was just now sitting here thinking, and I said to myself "Self, why are clicking around in here? The information you want to read most is not and will not be here."

Astonished by this revalation, I decided to go sit in chat. Join me perhaps if you would?

How many changes are needed each day on a server vs how much xp is given form a change is the real issue for a casual player. This change has forced casual players to grind a profession to be competitive with masters that were able to get the skill in three hours of power gaming.

The xp rate atnovice entertainerseems good. It's right in line with what the other professions take. I think though that a steeper increase in xp given in the ID line as you advance is needed. The easiest way to do this is decrease the timer for an ID as their skill level increases. Like each box decreases the timer by a percentage until master = 0 time. This way xp per minute increases with skill like every other profession.

Those patch notes bring me somewhere between weeping with despair and screaming in frustration.

The XP change to migration is so small as to be meaningless. It won't help to grind unless someone is two boxing or has a really masochistic friend. And it's still too small to make for meaningful gain rates with normal business.

And the music, God, the last thing I want is to sit in that tent for hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours listening to the same music. Of all the useless things.

Sorry count me less than impressed

Devs, please just be the bigger men here, put your hands up and admit, "Okay, we got it wrong" and put ID back to the way it was prior to the timers. Seriously, you've completely screwed the class and now all these fixes and tweaks are nothing more than attempts to lock the door after the horse has bolted.

The previous system worked.

The new system doesn't.

And another thing I'd like one of the Devs to answer:

WHAT'S WRONG WITH SOMEBODY MASTERING IMAGE DESIGNER QUICKLY?

(Excuse the caps, but I felt it was the easiest way to make it more obvious...)

Were it a skill that affected other players competitively - i.e. Master TKA vs Unarmed I Brawler - I can understand it. But mastering ID makes no difference to other players, aside from making us MORE useful. Mastering ID also cuts down competition between Image Designers (as we can all do the same things, so there's no "sorry, I need a Master IDer, not you. And I don't care if you need the XP and they don't...")

Seriously, what's the deal?

When I 1st picked this game up and saw that a player could delve into 32 professions I was impressed. This game contains content for everybody! What further impressed me was the skill point system-a great method of not completely alienating new players from the God-like powerful characters who started on launch day (which I was). After a year now the veterans have likely dabbled in the various professions and have chosen a template they are happy with. Myself I had always been a commando, but got bored and decided to balance out my warrior with a dash of poet and tried the entertainer line.I know most of the IDs in my galaxy and have found them to be the most amicable, helpful, and professional players in the game. They have always been very united in their cause and have a reputation as being one of the tightly-knitted groups in the game.

Then cameMay 12th-having just started this profession only 4 weeks ago I realize that my opinion is not as valued as the ID pureists who have stuck with this severly neglected prof since the beginning, but I see most of the changes as a good thing and many of the problems that cause us so much grief now will dissappear once the jedi grind goes away.We have finally been introduced, many kicking and screaming, into the global economy, and a critical element at that.Yes, I think the timer should go away-but most ID makeovers I have conducted come close to the timer anyway, with the obvious exception of stat migrations. I just try to remindmy customer that waiting 10mins is far better than waiting for days if not weeks to see a change.

The critical element here is diplomacy. We have to communicate to thecombat-profsthe fact that we didn't ask for control over stat migrations, it was thrust upon us. I really don't think the other profs appreciate the amount of time it takes just to get the ability to conduct migrations and they won't unless we communicate this fact. This is the primary reason why I'm charging on a sliding scale-once everyone has had time to adjust to the new changes I think many will realize that 10-20k is a bargain. I'm still amazed that people complain about doc buffs costing 15k.

Greetings Folks,

I am not recently returned to the game but rather recently returned to my original character on Lowca, Durney Kova, who Is a Master Entertainer, Master Musician, Master Image Designer and Novice Dancer. He is my first and still my most beloved character.

I left the Lowca Server to play with IRL friends on Shadowfire, not because I didn't like my character. However it did let me expand my horizons a bit and I have played, dabbled really, in most of the professions so far. I hate the fact that we have only one character per server, and with the changes publish 10 will bring, everyone and their slice hound will be force sensitive to have the second slot. Myself included, skill points allowing, but thats all another topic.....

The last few weeks that I have been back, I have been getting back into the entertainer boards, which I never really stopped reading, just not as much, and I see all this bickering on the ID forums. I understand where you are coming from with the arguements on both sides of the fence, but seriously, the Developers of this game have done something that no other single game has ever done. They cater to EVERYONE. Thats right, usually, you either have RPers, Crafters and mild combat or you have pretty hardcore combat and hardly any social aspects to the game.

The entertainer professions are revolutionary in the game. no where else can you be a Musician, Dancer, or Image Designer. these classes are for the more socially minded people and do involve a lot of interaction with other players. I think we tend to get wrapped up in our own feelings a lot, myself included, and we do not see the big picture. I think SOE could perhaps be better with giving us a master plan that they invision for the future, instead of being so tight lipped about everything, but at least in this game they have made the choice to actually listen to their players and have not designed a game where you do X and getY and nothing else besides cosmetic changes are taking place.

The ID interface redesign is absolutely beautiful. We simply asked for the same interface as the character creation screen and what were we given? Just take a few steps back and marvel at it. They just totally made a new interface for us, and that took work and dedication and whomever did it needs a huge pat on the back, or a hug

Am I happy with the timer? No, I am not, I took up ID to compliment my performances so that I could change my look to suit my

outfits. However I do understand the reasoning behind the timer. I hope they rethink the decision, but with the buffs and foods/spices now, itwasinsanely easy to become a Master and the Hologrind made this profession into a very cheap and disrespected one.

I will reserve my total judgment on the timer until Publish 9, to see how the xp gains will improve the xping factor. As of right nowI think that timers should be totally removed for Masters, where ever they happen to be, or else we need personal ID tents and/or ID Droids, and the timer should scale as you advance in level.

The timer is being put into place to stop the holo-mowing of our profession and to keep the new people from likewise leveling in a day, which will eventually restore a bit of dignity back to the class. I am in favor of that and even if its a game, without a bit of work, then you would have no sense of accomplishment and would bor rather easily and move on to the next handout class.

ID is the most social of the entertainer classes, and to be an Image Designer, you must love to talk. I personally just ask my clients if they have a favorite song / instrument and play while i chat with them. it makes the time go much faster.

Oh, andIf you are wondering, it took me about 3 months all together to level ID. But the majority of it was before the buffs and super foods, all but the last 3 boxes I needed, which a guildmate helped me get in a mater of about 3 hours with a Musician buff and some different foods that were availible then. It actually bothered me to have worked so hard to get almost master and then the last 3 boxes that way.

So, my parting words ..... lets see what becomes of the increased xp and the other changes to us in Publish 9. If they are not acceptable to the community after that, then we can work on getting the changes that will make the most people happy.

Happy IDing

Durney Kova

I got a new toon just in time for this...I'm asking myself why I'm even doing it...I really want to do it and just can't bring myself to sitting in a depressing tent in a lag infested city...I really have no choice but to wait for the patch, grind on my alt, go crazy from hearing the same song over and over againand be happy its all done with when I finally do get master. What were they thinking...

What is the use of it all, if the Devs had it in them to respond to our criticizing 8.1, they would have done it by now. We have for the most part all voiced our discontent with things as they are, and it would appear so has Kwee, our resident voice of reason to them. If after all that they choose to ignore the noise out here, what are we all to think? I say this as a person who loves the Star Wars universe greatly, and as one who enjoys this game in many ways. How disturbed

How disturbed should we all be that player/customer concerns on content and changes are ignored? I was in beta, but went back to DAOC till a few months ago, is this as it has always been? Are the changes made to the content/ balance of the game done like this? with no regard for how the majority of the players, at least those whos work I have read here, feel about those changes? I like this game a lot, and nerfs are a part of this type of game, we all know that. But in the other games I have played I have not seen quite so much silence from the developers as I have here.

If RS or another reads this, just chip in with something about our concerns beyond "it is working as designed" or "it is being monitered" Just a little recognition that the way it is to a degree broken would satisfy many here. Knowledge that with recognition, might come change.
