If ID is so worthless, why are you wasting your valuable time in this forum posting your slander? Why dont you do something infinitely more constructive like spamming the starport or running you mouth about so-and-so faction being better than the other?

Amusing. What makes it a worthless and useless profession?

Per definition, I'd say that ID has MORE uses than your average combat profession, as ID's actually do something worthwhile for other characters and professions. Every profession has their uses, even Jedi (They make great Bounty-Hunter targets! ).

Yeah, what Fuschia said. Immature maybe, but well-deserved in this case. I know most of you posting here are Master ID's, but you still have the timer (greatly reduced, but still there)...does the timer not get on your nerves in the least? If you are giving a full body make over, I'm sure its no big deal...but for those quick ones: ie change a tattoo, or hair style, etc. especially if shuttle is coming...wouldn't that be annoying?

ill keep this short.

This isnt fair, at least not to do until AFTER the new system for getting Jedi is implemented. We all pay the same amount to play this game, we should all be given equal chances.

People who got to master ID to holo grind before this patch did it in 45 minutes. Without the help of a second computer and account and assuming you have the time and ability to push buttons like George Jetson, it takes 5.6 days straight time to max out ID not including the ent tree.

45 minutes to 5.6 days of straight play, assuming you do nothing but ID inside a tent, on yourself.

How is that fair? even if your not hologrinding, noone is going to want to do that, so giving them the ability to stat migrate or not, you made ID a class that is going to die out because noone is going to want to do such an unfun, time consuming tedious grind.

And asi said, its not fair. Until i read how the quest based jedi thing isnt making your second slot FS, its making yor primary slot FS, i ROLEPLAY (beleive it or not) and i dont see it in my main character to be jedi, so ill have to do the quests twice. And i have only like 400k credits (which is alot for me) im not totally combat oriented and i dont have a guild. So this isnt going to be easy for me.

So i figured id give hol grinding a try, next day the patch went into effect.

At the very least make it fair and take the timer away until after the jedi publish goes live, then put them back into effect, if you even need to do that.

Most peps thats here and says that they want the ID Hold-down timer to be reduced or taken away jsut to Grind the ID quickly... Well, dont the other proffessions take some 50-60 hours? I know only of one (1) proff taht takes under that time, and it was ID before the change! If they so badly need ID to get the Jedi done, why didnt they do it at first? They surely knew it took just a few hours to master it, and there are several Master IDs in the Cantinas that can help u with training, for free.

If anyone posts in here and says they wants the Hold-down timer to be lowered so they can grind the proff easily, its just whining!!

You dont have to do the ID proff at one time, as I bet Teras Kasi, Carbineer, Rifleman or any other proff gets grinded in one day!?

Just stop whining and be happy that the Devs now change the timer for the ID Masters, that will stay masters cuz they like the ID proffession, insteadof all Grinders!

Dude, did you even read the previous posts? I mean NOONE would whine if it would take like 50 - 60 hours to master ID! NOONE! We are talking about 120 Hours of standing in an ID tent doing nothing else but starring onan ID-Screen! And thats only under perfect circumstances, like with a willing friend to click accept for 120 hours. What I do is to ask a friend to do this for me from time to time for some XP, when no regularcustomer isnearby. If you have to do it regular, with real customers you have to add the time you need to find a customer and his/her time to choose the customization of desire....this increases the theoretical 120 hours easyly to like 200or 230 hours...and dude again: JUST STANDING ARROUND, NO ACTION, SAME CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS FOR A LOOOOONG TIME (lvl 3 takes a looooong time to accomplish and even lvl 4.....O_o)!!! So if you arent a ID by yourself....please shut up, when you aint know what youre talking about!

Oh and I am not a ginder either, but from time to time I would like to see progression in what I do, so do most other people when playing other professions....but its way to slow to see anything new now (after two hours of doing ID and not getting any new optionswith body1 i was pretty annoyed - and you always get new stuff with every skillbox in other profs).

And: Dont forgett the casual gamer (like me), that havent the time to play every day for hours.......how are em supposed to have fun with ID?

I forsee, that ID will have serious problems with fresh blood. Of course there are masters already, but they mastered prepatch...I truely doubt, that there will be enough new masters to fill the rows, when some of em choose to quit swg or do something else(at least if it stays like it is)

actually, most people wouldnt mind the grind it was fun, eventful, or in the least way interesting. but it isnt, its a boring "wait"fest. plain and simple.

most professions can be mastered in around 20-50 hours. fact.

"If they so badly need ID to get the Jedi done, why didnt they do it at first?" not even remotely close to a logical argument.

"Just stop whining and be happy that the Devs now change the timer for the ID Masters, that will stay masters cuz they like the ID proffession, insteadof all Grinders!" this may sound good to you, as a master ID, but sounds like elitest drivel coming from anyone on the way up the ladder, grinder or not. a change that is good for master ID'ers and bad for everyone else....is a bad change.

i honestly would have no problem with them expanding the time it took to master ID. i agree, the grind back then was a joke. it was just clicking....lots of clicking. however, i do not believe that the intelligent folks over at SOE could have thought up a solution that turns the experience gaining process into something that not even image designers (non-master) feel is intuitive.

it is actually kind of ironic, when you think about it. with no current players being inclined to grind to master ID, so many of these truly wonderful changes will go completely unappreciated.

Well I helped a friend of mine master ID 2 days before the revamp, we where in the same room, so communication was not a factor, we had Vercupti, Brandy, Muon Gold and where watching a movie at the same time. Less than 2 hours of relaxed cliking it was done! He was a Master ID for about 5 minutes before running out o the cantina to become Mozart. This is not good for the game right? I agree.

Now another friend of mine got ID on the holo but didn't feel like doing it then... now is more like never... But ok, the object of the game is not to master everything in sight so... No biggy there!

Imagine this: I start playing and I want to bea Master ID, I really want it! I imagine plp who play ID like to chnage the other guy/girls's avatars. But when you start you have no options, everything about the professions ifd the opening of new possibilities, no abilities, not stronger. faster or bigger just another hair-do and color. My pont is, if you are an image designer you have to find how many honest oppurtunities for business befoer you can in facto do anyting? You get novice entertainer and go around saying I can change your hair to 15 diferent colours and am reallly good at it! After 10 custumers you now can do eye color, 10 colours as well! 15 more custumers and yu now grow beards... etc... and so on... Where is the fun in that? Musicians and sancers can dance from day one and socialize, ID interface eats the screen, you can't see whats going on, you interact almost exclusively with the guy in front of you. I don't thinka profession should be changed because of grinders, they come and go, but you cannopt make changes based on the assumption that evcey ID is already a master ID.

I leave a proposal here. Make a sticky theread and ask ID by choice not grind to sign it if they mastered it since the revamp and where wehere were they when the revamp hit. I bet not a lot of new guys.

As for how long something takes ... There are at least two professions that I can master and have so in half the time that Mastering ID takes, Doctor and DE,it didn't take meanywhere near 60 hours, nevermind 120.

Amazingly both Dancer and Musician has taken me at least or near two weeks to Master. So with the timer ID will be closein the same line as both Dancer and Musician under normal circumstances. It also has the annoying treat that both Dancers and Musicians have, lack of performing a certain skill on yourself.

Why don't I have a problem with taking two weeks to master Dancer, and why do I havea problem with the timer that ID has now? Its not because how long it takes, it doesn't. I don't care if it would take me 3 weeks to master, if it meant I didn't have to stop for 2/5min EACH session. That's the killer. Not how long it takes.

So my problem isn't with having it take longer, but with the pauses where you can do absolutely nothing to gain skill with the profession you work on. The max timer is set, and so is the max amount of XP. I say it again, people HATE waiting. The most annoying part in SWG are shuttles. Why? You have to wait. Why do devs insist in adding timers to force people to wait. I have yet to find someone who rejoices when he or she misses the shuttle and feels utter happiness for the extra 10 minutes they have towait. With ID its the same. When you are still trying to progress, the timer you get each time is getting more and more annoying. I already dediced to only do one block a day, or I probably would go on a killing spree.

So in closing, I rather have to deal with a doubled xp to master the profession than with the idiot timers each time.

Hello,

I hope you and your customers are enjoying the new changes! I thought I would stop by and give you a quick little update on what's coming next week as a follow-up to the Image Designer mini-publish that went live this week.

Master Image Designer Timers

Master Image Designers will now have their timers for cosmetic and physical changes cut in half when they are doing image designing outside of the Image Design Tent. Master Image Designers will have no timers for cosmetic and physical changes while working inside the Image Design tents.

Hair Color Bug

The programmer who implemented the cool new Image Designer UI found and fixed the hair color bug! You will no longer need to relog your character to get your hair color to show up properly.

UI Revert Issues

We have fixed various issues where values were not resetting to their old values when using the revert option.

Misc.

- Added the missing male bothan hair color trim

- Fixed a case where players couldn't change a hair and set the secondary color on the new hair at the same time

Many thanks to everyone who submitted issues and suggestions! Your efforts are greatly appreciated and helpful for us getting issues resolved quickly.

Not good enough. You do understand that with the timer, it takes longer to grind ID than MBH, don't you? Was this intended? And if so, why? Why force such unnecessary suffering on those who wish to go ID after the cool new changes?
