Well, I foresee a new problem with these new changes...

If Master ID's have no timer for stat changes & novices do, it will have the opposite of the intended effect. Players will be willing to pay MORE to have it done instantly from a Master instead of it taking ten minutes from a novice. This is going to make things even worse for novices trying to level.

This is an example of the kind of problems you see when the devs priority is on time sinks instead of gameplay that makes sense & is actually fun.

All I can say, is that as a Master I will not contribute to this problem because I will be refusing to do any stat changes on anyone until SOE also takes the timer away from the novices.

The eliminated timer is for cosmetic and body changes, not stat migrations.

It is my understanding that Masters will still have the timer for migrations.

Hello,

I wanted to give everyone an update on what Publish 9 holds for the Image Designers. Kwee has worked hard for all of you and while not every detailsmighthave goneexactly as the way you or Kweewould have wished, she has been instrumental in shaping the Image Designer enhancements at every step of the way and well beyond the initial release. You have a very good Correspondent and regardless of all the details of the game mechanics, Kwee has been a great person to interact with as she is always there representing all of you giving me feedback, collecting information and offering suggestions all along the way.

Here is what you all can expect to come with Publish 9:

  • Master Image Designers will have their timers reduced by 50% for cosmetic and physical changes outside the tent.

  • Master Image Designers will have their timers removed entirely for cosmetic and physical changes insde the tent.

  • Stat migration xp will be raised from 600xp to 2000xp.

  • Image Designer tentshave had new special music composed for them. Thiswas delivered to me last Friday and should be in place sometime this week. There are three separate tracks, each specialized to fit the mood of the decor of each of the three tent themes.

Are you sure Bri? I assumed when Runesabre said physical changes he was talking about stat migration.

Physical changes = height, weight, torso, jaw, cheeks, mouth, lips, nose length, nose width, nose protrusion, eye shape, eye angle, eye size, ears, sensors, et cetera.

Yeah, you're right...my mistake. But I'll still try to give that business to those who want to use it to grind.

I think the best change you could make for image designers is to remove the profession entirely from the game. It's a 100% fluff profession that serves no purpose to most players as anything more than an annoyance. There's hardly anyone in the profession and it's nigh impossible to find one when you need a change. I'd rather see those terminals in the image design tents become self serve terminals where i can just go and pay a fee and get some changes done. Would be a nice credit sink as well.

Seriously, image designer has to be one of the least played professions and I think it's kinda silly to be spending any time whatsover on them considering how many highly played combat professions are broken, ie. bounty hunters or commando's and many others. Fluff stuff like this keeps getting fixed, new vehicles get added new dungeons, but where's the fixes to issues that have been around since launch?

Thank you for so elequently proving my point about the type of @$$holes we're now forced to deal with because we are the sole avenue for stat migrations.

This is why the Image Designers are in hiding.

To be honest I'm a Master ID, who sometimes works in the tent and sometimes not, and the only timer that I ever even notice is the Stat Migration one. The timers on all the other cosmetic and body changes are a bit of a non-issue, unless you're grinding XP.

Not just grinding. Just trying to level, period. Which is most every player who's not already a MID, and which involves 60+ hours continuous, minimum, spent staring at a blue screen. That becomes quite the issue in short order.

Drop an ID box, and try grinding it back up. It becomes apparent quickly why the timer, its implementation, and the XP rate is such an issue. Don't grind, and level casually... and it'll take much, much, much longer.

Yep what Bri said

Stat migration timers are not changing for anyone no matter where you're standing Still 10 minutes.

I would argue that it has changed for the non-master. Only... It has, as someone already pointed out, changed from bad to worse.

There is now even less appealing for people to visit a non-master ID.

Well this was the change I was expecting....i.e. no change for the non-master. 2000xp for 10 minutes is still only 200xp per minute and requires there actually be people requring there stats changed, which despite all the griping I have seen, is not constant. Or you have a second account and thus a willing Alt. Thus the advancement up the ID tree is still unacceptably long for me and most.

Still frustrated that I could advance up the hairstyling tree in a few weeks of playing (not every night and for an hour or so at a go), but that was apparently unacceptable as it allowed Jedi wannabes to become Master ID faster. So the GAME is CHANGED to say to me sorry you are a victim of this too, but enjoy the timer....and the wait....doing nothing. I had a goal to have all my points in entertaining, Music, Dance and ID, and this whole timer issue has so spoiled me on the character's design that I have lost interest in performing I know, I know...no one cares.

Back to my character on another server advancing up swordsman...where I actually get to do something and make tons more xp in the same amount of time.

Great, you'vemade it so that unless you're already amaster Image Designer, you won't be able to effectly gain xp due to the fact masters will be most desirable now with the lack of timers. Congrats to Kwee and the developers for creating this 'good old boys' club and ignoring the rest of the image designers beneath them.

All Masters deserve something above those who haven't achieved that level.

Being a Master ID for almost 5 months now and having no intention of dropping it any time soon, I have only been in the tent once and frequently refer anyone who asks for ID to non-Masters, unless it's something only a Master can do.

There are and should be perks for moving up skill trees in Image Design, just like in any other profession.

Your comment about the developers and primarily about Kwee is totally uncalled for. Kwee has EVERYONE'S best interest in mind, probably more than any other correspondent on the forums.

The anger on this board from ID'ers not being happy with the latest publish and from other players complaining about ID has totally gotten out of hand. Grow up people... accept change... if you don't like it.. work to make it better. Complaining and pointing your finger does nothing but make *you* look bad.

Jon - I agree that a MID should get some kind of bonus, but should that bonus be so directly at the expense of the already floundering Novices of the profession?
