I understand your desire to have something all for you. At this point, Im trying to work with what we have so you might be able to see the changes in a decent time frame. Something new is just going to take a long time. Cantinas, Med Centers and Theaters are part of player cities because they are part of a larger social system (healing, etc)

Now, in the here-and-now, what I might be able to do is get you a Merchant Tent with Image Designer graphics on it. I'll ask.

I agree that current ID needs need to be placed first, But also feel that your long term goals need to be make clear to the devs. Because a what we feel is not important or a lot of work may be something the devs can do or would like to do in stages. Example they may wait to add salon buildings now and give them fuctions later, because the building design team is free now, and they know they will be doing space expansion stuff later. We just need to let them know that they are not top priorty.

This is a great idea, but I have a question.

It seems like you could turn a house into a salon like the other professions.

Wouldnt it make more sense to get a ID/Merchant tent type of thing and some salon items rather than a salon itelf?

Anything to help this profession out would be a great idea. As long as the Merchant tent had decent lighting in it i dont think the id's of the game would complain too much.

Yes! Decreased mind cost, healing battle fatigue, etc... All that would be great, but I would be happy to get any special building as long as it had good lighting inside.

I don't know that I like the idea of IDs being able to heal BF, with or without a special building. I agree that IDs need something to make us more "useful" to the community in general, but I do not agree that we should impinge upon the realm of the dancer or musician to do so, whether it makes sense or not. (If any of you frequent the dancer forum you'll know how bent out of shape some of them were about CMs getting /healMind—I'd hate to see their response about IDs being able to heal BF…)

Ok, before I resond to this post, I wanna say a few things. First, I'm not an ID, nor do I have a desire to be (no flame or offense, I just perfer killing stuff ), second, I think you guys are the best. Im worse then a woman (no offense again, hehe) when it comes to my appearence. I have 4 sets of padded armor, all different colors. Depending on what planet I'm hunting on, or if im PvPing, I choose my armor. Now, when I choose my armor, I have to search for an ID (we finally got one in our guild!) to change my lekku markings and colors. I think its great, most of the IDs on Ahalzi are willing to help me out for free, or for a little charge, but I ALWAYS tipatleast 5k, you guys are great and your always soo cheerfull! Keep it up, my lekku needs you!

Now, about the spa idea, I think its GREAT! Before we got an ID in our guild, I'd have to run around the galaxie looking for an ID (I live on talus, not many people there), so I'd have to run to cornet to find none then, from there its off to Theed. Just a long trip I never watned to make. If there could be spas in a player city, I would always be able to find an ID. Maybe a way of telling if they were there or not (on the map) would be cool too, so people don't walk/gallop out to a spa to find no ID. Anyways, it's a great idea!

If tents were offered to Image Designers, it would be nice if there were a graphic way (as opposed to just the sign in front) to indicate the nature of the business. Perhaps a selection of icon-like decorations on the peak (scissors?), a barbershop pole, or whatever. Merchants would appreciate a visible way to indicate what was for sale as well,. I see that graphic as more important for the image designer use, to avoid having a stream of people sticking their head in looking for a powerup vendor, and disturbing the work in progress.

I love Haruspex's ideas I agree an ID tent or little building should not require merchant... It would be akin to the special buildings dancers and musicians can place. In time it would be wonderful to have a large player city building, but I would certainly welcome a little ID tent in the meantime. The space is very very small but would be doable and fun to roleplay. Could we getbrighter color options for the outside than available on the merchant tents, perhaps a cheerful blue, bright green, cherry red, sunny yellow, grape purple? A salon chair for architects to make us would be wonderful Something similar tothe reclining chair perhaps... And if the interior hadmirrors (not necessarily reflective but a girl can dream) that wouldbe wonderful Hmm a tent with mirrors...not sure if that would work How about a variation of the little round naboo house?Or of asmall generic? I love the idea of a barberpole or big scissors on the top of the tent. On that note, little icons to pick and choose from forthose with some Business or Merchantwould be great, a littlebikini, apiece of armor,anR2cut out, afork and knife, etc. It would be hard to come up with an image to represent ID. Maybe a stylized impression of someone's face lol. Thanks for your attention on this TH

I work in a styling salon in real life. (Not a stylist, just the receptionist) As I read this post, I'm picturing things from my salon being implemented in the game. LOL Just thought I'd throw that in.
I totally hope we see some serious love for image designers soon. TH has my hopes up now.

Come on Kwee, I'd think it would be obvious what icon we get: a pair of scissors crossed with a scalpel. (Hair cuts and unliscensed plastic surgery available within)

Here are few ideas for fuctions of a salon.

A. Party Sytles (They last only 24 RL hours or until customer cancels effect) They come in bright &wild colors and styles.

B. Disguises (They last168 RL hours (aka 1 week)or until customer cancels effect) They come in standard styles and colors

Party Sytles and Disguises can only be done in salons.

Changable lighting in salons would nice so customers can see the look in deferent lighting.

A "Stage" forID/tailors to showcase some ofthier outfits (maybe with NPC models), and for ID/entertaners to do thier stuff.

Dumb boards...posted before I was done.

Anyway, Thunderheart, I had a cool idea that would help in this situation a lot. Instead of having different buildings for each thing as we've been discussing, how about we be allowed to place city hotels?

1. They already exist so nothing would need to be designed especially for us. Maybe some slight modifications at best.

2. They could be used by dancers, musicians, image designers, chefs, & doctors in a spa/salon type setting which would reduce the total number of buildings .

As many people have pointed out merchants won't be too keen on the idea of tents & I think many of us wouldn't be too crazy about the idea either. Merchants are about sales, while the entire entertainer line plus chefs & doctors are about providing a service. They are different enough tojustify being treated differently I think.
