I understand your desire to have something all for you. At this point, Im trying to work with what we have so you might be able to see the changes in a decent time frame. Something new is just going to take a long time. Cantinas, Med Centers and Theaters are part of player cities because they are part of a larger social system (healing, etc)

Now, in the here-and-now, what I might be able to do is get you a Merchant Tent with Image Designer graphics on it. I'll ask.

It's a start! *cheers*

While you're at it, you should ask if we can have more hairstyles. *looks innocent*

Thats a good idea! Too bad the DEVs forgot that BEs shouldown Cloning Center because we do make clones........... anyways great idea!

what?!

I"m all for BE buffing

BUT

there are so many reasons BEs should not own Cloning Centers that... I don't even know!

first - it is a city building!... so you expect to decide who gets to clone and who doesn't?!

second - what do you expect? to set an access fee?!

third - you do NOT make clones of players or even humanoids for that matter! you make clones of creatures!

etc...

As a Merchant and Architect I love this suggestion. Merchant tents are still underused because they are limited to Merchants who invested 14 skill points to get only the tents and a few credits per day of discounts on maintenance. Another market for tents would be most desirable.

The current tents come in a variaty of styles and colors. While they are fairly small inside, they have plenty of room for 2 players and some appropriate furniture. There is probably enough room for some chairs for people who are waiting, or just watching others get haircuts. With a pack hanging on the wall for storage, the 75 items of extra storage space would be handy for the owner as well.

If tents were offered to Image Designers, it would be nice if there were a graphic way (as opposed to just the sign in front) to indicate the nature of the business. Perhaps a selection of icon-like decorations on the peak (scissors?), a barbershop pole, or whatever. Merchants would appreciate a visible way to indicate what was for sale as well,. I see that graphic as more important for the image designer use, to avoid having a stream of people sticking their head in looking for a powerup vendor, and disturbing the work in progress.

The idea of a place that would reduce costs slightly would be nice, but a real pull would be what someone mentioned earlier. If you could only do some special changes in the building, like crafters at crafting stations. That would be a reason for most people to actually travel out of their way for something new.

Hey, just a little note on Tents.

Due to the lot requirements of Tents, I can't find a Merchant who is willing to place one.

I tried to get a Merchant friend to drop a Tent, and vender so I could sell spices. The reply I got concerning the Tent was, "No can do, need the lots for Harvestors."

Just a thought, you guys might want to consider removing the lot requirement on Tents, and maybe go about limiting them a different way. I'd make a suggestion, but I honestly don't know much about the Merchant class.

It would be really cool if it could incorporate some kind of mirror to see changes as they take place.

well from want i hear, you can SELL your hair when it appears in your inventory to a vendor. simply set up a vendor with all the hairstyles you can do, price them a million credits each so they don't get soldand in the seller's info area put the real price for the change. you could also pick a generic style and make one of each color available.

Please noone try to sell the buggy wigs that appear in your inventory. They cannot be worn once purchased. Furthermore you cannot produce more than one at a time. I tried to make two once in order to seeif it was possible toset up a wig display on a wall hehe.

I think a Beauty Salon building would be a great addition to our profession I have a little beauty salon in a small generic where I've lined up the white reclining chairs. They look so similar to the ones in hair salons... Customers reallly love getting into the roleplay aspect of ID, and it's so much easier if the environment looks like the real thing. Other great ideas I've heard include a medical Plastic Surgery type office, and a Tattoo Parlor, which would be SO awesome if we were ever to get body tattoos *crosses fingers*.

I really love the idea ofallowing us to heal battle fatigue through something like massage. There are so few of us it would not have that huge of an impact on other entertainers. Though it would not be fair given that poor Dancers and Musicians have to spend ages racking up entertainment healing points to advance in their professions.

As a master merchant, I would say make the 'Salon Tent' available to Master IDs that way an ID that wants to have a shop wouldn't feel compelled to run up a single merchant tree just to get the 'Merchant Tent'.
