Can the rest of the SWG playerbase get something in their Options menu to turn off the new Holo-Emotes?

It would be a very nice option, as some of us don't like them and they detract from the RP part of this MMORPG.

Runesabre,

In regards to timers/xp gain for non-master ID's... Why not wait untill after publish 10 to put these into effect? I know a few people who thought they would unlock their Jedi before the patch, and have ID left to do. This change has effectively made it so that if ID is required for them, they will not unlock their Jedi. 60+Hours added onto their grind is probably not the best thing to do to people right now, and trust me, I know many, many people who are very distraught because of this.

Anyway, thanks for your great work to improve ID (I like all the cool new features), but I really feel for my jedi-hopefull friends who are almost in tears now because this one simple change has probably ruined thier chance of becoming a jedi.

Huh? ruined their chance of becoming Jedi? Haven't they had all the time in the world? Doesn't the new quest system take into consideration the professions completed? Are they taking Jedi out of the game? What the HELL are you talking about?

One acronym for you: MBH.

I totally agree with you. (And I am a.....casual grinder.....) I heard about the ID change same as everyone else. I read about the change to the time needed, same as everyone else.

SO, I took the iniative to devote 2 hours (and my scout tree) to getting ID 4444. If you didn't think it through, well... you're going to have to wait until the ID changes are reverted during publish 10

... After Publish 10, when the "grind" path has been removed, there will be no reason to slow down the ID grind time....there will be NO grind )

I think these changes will be good. I'm delighted that the hair bug has been isolated and repaired, and that I will no longer have to wait five minutes to change an eye color.

If Non Masters are going to be forced to have huge timers then I believe they should be compensated somehow.

2 ways to do this are:

1) Allow 2 ID's that are ID'ing each other for xp to be allowed to do this at the same time, not have 1 ID while they other just sits there.

2) Stack the xp so if they make more than 1 change they get more xp at a time.

Personally I think the timers should be lowered because this is going to cause people to stop wanting changes to their character and will stop people who love the prof. to quit.

Ummm, OK, I feel compelled to respond to this. I don't hologrind, because I've chosen my profs and I'm happy with what I contribute to the Star Wars Galaxies Universe. That said, I have to comment on the spite I see in this message. This will do nothing to everyone's hate for hologrinders, I'm sure - but people really need to understand a rathe simple point about this.

*sigh*Here we go...

First of all, you play Star Wars Galaxies, right? The game? Well, obviously so, heh. The same game that you play has a feature within it, and it's called the Force Sensitive Slot. This is IN the game, it is PART of the game. Don't hate the hologrinders, they are PLAYING the game. Don't hate anyone, in fact, hate leads to the Dark Side and gives you more wrinkles around your eyes Hologrinding is an element of the very same game that you play. It is the means to go about getting a Jedi.

"They rarely contribute to our communities or improve anything but themselves."

As for this comment, once again, they're playing the game as it is currently implemented, and it is a VIABLE and NECESSARY procedure to obtain a character with Jedi abilities. If you're unhappy with the hologrinding, the problem is NOT with them - it is with the game manufacturers who currently require this process to get a Jedi. If you play the game, they have every right to play the game, too.

Now, before you say, "the new system will be implemented in Publish 10, they can wait until then," I have to say, we just hit Publish 8.1 Publish 10 is awhile away. As the game currently is, they have every right to pursue their Force Sensitive slot as you have to pursue any profession you wish.

I think the new Jedi system will be a great improvement, solely because hologrinding does weird things to the economy. But, hologrinders have put a lot of time and effort into getting their Jedi, and they are playing the game as it exists at this point. Statements of "compensation" for hologrinding in the new system do little to ease the worry they might have, when they've put months towards getting a Jedi, and we all know the track record for publishes and bugs/problems.

Play your game, and let them play theirs. Why should you dare call them evil? I fail to see the reason for all this hate, and I for one would just like to keep playing the game and let others do the same. I mean, did a hologrinder steal all of your stuff and destroy your character to get their Jedi? No. So what's the freakin problem everyone has with them? How have they hurt your gameplay? Do they prevent you from doing anything in-game?

Just wanted to comment on this, I think the hate for hologrinders in these forums is deplorable, given that we all have the ability to master any profession we want, and keep it as long as we want, just like them. And, I fully understand that people want to get a Jedi character. They NEED to hologrind because that's how you PLAY THE GAME.

OK, sorry. Please everyone, stop all the hate.

Thank you.

The above is in regards to Rogue1970's post:

"The day the Devsstart LISTENING to Holo-grinders again, I'll probably quit the game until Space as so many others have. Holo-grinders = Evil - the majority of themhave done nothing but hurt all of our gameplay. They rarely contribute to our communities or improve anything but themselves.

If any changes are made, I hope it is due to THAT PROFESSIONS users input. They play it, they deserve to figure out what's right or not.

I'm not an ID, don't intend to ever be, but I respect those who do choose the profession. They have the same rights to enjoy the game as me and you.

The Holo-grinders can go to Hoth!"

You really need to fix the XP... a Low lvl Image designer spent 20 minutes with me last night just changing my Lekku and the pattern , and all she got was 200xp... (I didnt know what I wanted, so she had to go through each one).. I felt so bad for her I gave a 10K tip... Image Design is a time consuming process, the XP needs to reflect that IMO...

Master Image Designer Timers

Master Image Designers will now have their timers for cosmetic and physical changes cut in half when they are doing image designing outside of the Image Design Tent. Master Image Designers will have no timers for cosmetic and physical changes while working inside the Image Design tents.

I think giving MID no timers when in an ID tent is nice. But I think it will make it even more difficult for a Novice IDs toget to master. Even for simple a change as hiar color you would want to go to a MID since you won't have to wait. Hence the only reason some one would go to a novice ID would be if there was no MID to be found or if the novice ID charges much less for the change and the customer doesn't mind the wait.

Thanks for the changes especially the hair bug!

Perhaps the Novices need more xp per change made?

(short message but I am heading out the door.)
