Thread: Final info about the mini publish now that TH let the cat out of the bag :)

I had a guildy check it out and yes, traditional stat migration does seem to work, thankfully
I think my biggest pet peeve about all this so far is the 2 minute XP window. This to me is gonna hurt ID's as a whole. You thought that it was hard to find a master id now?
No other profession in the game takes that lone to lvl to master. This is beyond unacceptable. Even someone working toward master BH doesnt take a month to do if they stick with it.
I also agree with some other posters in other threads that the influx of master IDr's of the next week is gonna be absolutly off the scale as they push against that deadline.
Moreover i had orginally thought it was made easier to do image design XP for a few reasons. First no other profession is static in what it accomplishes. I.E. an ID has to have a partner first off and secondly all they do is click click click click click click ad verbatim. Even other entertainers have something to look at and do while earning XP, Dancers dance and heal, Musicians play and heal /BUFF.
When a person is going for a combat profession they have something ACTIVE to do. If your going to be a master pistoleer you get out your pistol and go hunt things for money. IF your gonna be a TKM you go out and fight stuff hand to hand for mission payouts.
No other profession in the game works the way and ID does. They sit in one spot for an undertermined amount of time doing nothing but mouse clicks. This 2 minute window for XP is gonna kill the profession. People are not going to be willing to sit in one location for a month and just click. Its retarded to the tenth power. As the masters leave the game or move on to other professions the ability to actually find someone who can ID at all will be even harder then it is now. This will inflate the prices of actually ID'ing someone. But also take away the very convience that most casual gamers are looking for.
Someone did the math on another forum IF you do ID on yourself cause you cant find a partner its gonna take 2 minutes to get 25XP at that rate it would take someone 24 days to master ID...and thats if your online for 24 hours a day 7 days a week
This is TOTALLY unacceptable for ANYONE.
I agree that some speed bump needed to be added to keep people from mastering in 2 hours. But going from 2 hours to 24 days imo is WAY over the top. Nobody in there right mind is gonna spend 24 days...if they are robots being up 24 hours a day ID'ing..much longer if they cannot which i assume everyone in here is actually a real human being and not some android. They will not spend that much time just sitting and clicking...its ridiculous to the maximum to believe anyone would.
Imagine having a job where all you do is push a button 1 time every two minutes. How old would that get? And moreover how quickly. People just dont have that kind of attention span when it comes to something so mind numbing.
I really hope the devs get there act together on this particular change..because in its current form is going to completely destroy the ID profession long term. There will come a time when no one will want to even attempt doing this profession. And hence the ID will go the way of the Dodo

Stat Migration - OMG! What are they thinking about!!!
Time cut in half - Excellent, finally the profession will no longer be one you can master in a few hours
Terminals - Good idea to not limit one ID/client per terminal (would have got ugly)
Holo Emotes - still laughing at the idea
After spending time researching my reactions are...
Stat Migration - OK so we will be given something new and the existing players can continue to migrate stats as they always have (if they choose to). The thing is though that they will never choose to wait 2-3 days and always seek out an ID to do it for them. If we had become the SOLE method then I would have been angry. As we are the quick way then I am happy with this and will expect those wanting a quick stat migration to pay for such a service - and I am talking of at least the amount they give to Doctors for their buffs.
Time reduction & exp timer - Still not too sure on this one. Not got a Master ID on TC and also not got the spare time to work one through the profession so I'll have to "test" in live.
Terminals - would like these to be craftable so I can have one in my home (I refuse to live in a tent as it is common).
Holo Emotes - still laughing at the idea (I think someone put something in the water when the devs came up with this idea). Harmless but as I do not really approve of the idea I will be limiting the amount that I sell to people.
I really think the two minutes is far too long (are the Devs obsessed with "two minutes" lately? :smileyvery-happy
. Maybe like.. thirty seconds?
Close to or under a minute would be best in my opinion. I doenjoy catching shuttles. ![]()
Other than that.. I'm glad we're getting something rather than nothing! All I was really looking forward to was the expanded palettes and new UI so.. yey!

When the changes were announced earlier today, they said that they wanted ID to be masterable by a casual player in 30 days and that they would be tweaking the delay until they got around that. I am sure that the delay will be shortened by quite a bit.
Listen as an outsider to the image designer fourm, I need to put in my two words...
Lossing stat migration though not done offten is still done a lot by players. I understand ID's need some very need love, but forcing an entire Player Base to search out for the very rare Long Time ID's and not Hologrinders just so they can get thier stats migrated to what they want is in the end a BAD IDEA!
This will prevent seasoned Players who decide to start anew character on a diffrent server from being able to make their stats what they want, in order to fit their playing style. This will prevent people from being able to squease that last few points for regen reasons.
Most of alla smart player will stat migrate to what they want in secondaries now and never touch them again and once again have no need for your profession.
This is a Bad Change for all... It will place the very few ID's who actully want to play one into TELL HELL as people who need adjustments to their stats. Think of it this way... Imagine your the only DR in the Dantooine Miningcolony and its peak time. You have a line of 50 people needing your services and more arriving every 10 mins. And then you start getting the Tells "BUFF ME NOW I TIP WELL" or "You Buff, I already Tipped you 20mins ago!!!"
Thats just a sample of what can and will happen when people find out that they are removing the ability to stat migrate for free...
Listen you need your time in the spot light, but now is not the time for them to begin messing with the HAM system with out at least giving the Player base some information and Ideas on how they are going to change the system to fit the combat rebalance.
let me say it one last time THIS IS A VERY BAD IDEA!!!! Leave the Stat Migration System alone!!!
actually, I am for Image Designers being the only ones that can enable a person to use Stat Migration...
AS LONG AS, the stat migration is pretty much instant (<2 minutes)
I mean look at doctors, they can buff...IDers should be able to migrate stats.
I still think the user should be able to do it themselves...just at the long / incredibly long stat migration delay.
Master IDers will just make it happen much quicker for a small fee.

What the…? IDs the only way? I'm dropping tonight. It was fun while it lasted, but there is no way in **edit**ing hell I am putting up with tells every time someone wants their stats migrated. I don't need that kind of hassle.
Edit: This is the stupidest perversion of a community request EVER, and I'm so incredibly upset by this that I can't even put it into words. The fact that our discussions CLEARLY stated that we didn't want to be the only way for this sort of thing to happen, and that we were IGNORED makes me want to hurt someone very, very badly. The fact that we're only just now finding out as TC goes down to be patched makes me want to kill someone. This whole minipublish is a fiasco when it comes to communication, and I for one don't want any part of any of this bull**edit** anymore.

Agreed.
I won't drop, because I enjoy it too much myself... but this is not what we asked for. In fact, was stat migration EVER mentioned in one of our wish list/top 10 threads? I seriously doubt it. So, I am retiring. I will no longer ID for the public. Thank you devs, for taking one of the most fun professions and making ita burden. I'm PISSED about this. Everyone can scold me all they like for my 'negative' posts, but I do not give a damn. The fact is, we got taken on this. We've been dancing around gleefully ever since we found out that we were getting some love... but this isn't love, it's a kick in the head. DO NOT DO THIS! Please, please, please. Devs... for ONCE, listen to yourcommunity and do NOT do this. We don't want to be the only way for people to change stat migrations. This will flood our profession with people who don't care about creating better-looking characters.
It was fun. I love the ID community here, but I will not smile benignly as the developers ruin our profession.
