Thread: We have been very cold
/agree
We did get our feathers ruffled when a string of self-proclaimed holocron ID"ers came by and essentially said:
"ID suxxors, you are all losers, how can I grind it fast?"
As a result we varied between being less helpful than usual and jumping down any holocron ID'ers throat that had even the slightest suspicion of not being passionate about ID'ing ![]()
I know I've personally assumed the worst anytime any poor person has asked about how to create a macro for anything related to hair. Nevertheless I'm suremany of themWERE guilty of trying to figure out a way to exploit hair
.
Just think about Holocrafter that way : the more you help them and the more they macroed their way, the faster they get out of the profession and the less chance there is they get interested in your profession and steal your customers...

I'd pay 50 credits for an edit button,,hard to believe that something as simple as edit isnt available on this forum,,,symptomatic i guess of how overwhelmed they really are,,,
Off-Topic, but I see this so often I can't let it go anymore...
They are CHOOSING not to allow the edit functionality. It isn't something they broke, didn't get to, forgot, are working on, etc.
I forget the reasoning anymore, but they decided they did NOT want to give non-Correspondant, non-Dev edit functionality.
Just FYI. PLEASE spread the word.
It is acceptable to macro grind IF:
I don't want to get into a debate or anything here, but I don't think it's ever acceptable. -shrug- I am very hardcore about these things. Being a dancer and seeing my local cantina overrun with afk macrotainers has helped me reach that plateau.

Alas, poor Image Designers, I, too feel your pain. As a Squad leader who works very hard at what she does, only to be told "SL sux, I mastrd it in 5 hours running missions on Dant" Is almost a personal attack for the profession I love, even though it's busted, and truly does pretty much suck, I'm enamoured with the work I've chosen. I've never met a nasty Image Designer, and hope I never do.
The purpose of making you master random professions was so that you would have to take time, and possibly do things you didn't want to do to obtain that coveted FSS. The more difficult it is, the more people are discouraged from doing it, and hence the game is not instantly covered in Jedi, in a very un-starwarsy fashion for this period in the fiction's history. It's fine if you want to grind through three professions to make a Force Sensitive, but do itwithout insulting other people.
Imagine Jedi Master was a requirement for becoming a Commando, and everyone wanted to be a Commando. How would you feel if someone told you "Jedi is lame, I just grinded through force powers setting up a target macro to throw durnis around, only took me 8 hours" I know this is far from the truth, but would you not want to release your anger in the direction of the offending commando?
Take into consideration that some of us have chosen to actually socialize and spend our game time assisting (or coordinating) others, sometimes simply for the joy of doing it, while you were spewing second grade insults with pre-school grammar at the very people you were going to for help.
And for all you Image Designers... thanks for the haircut; /tip 2000

I was speaking specifically of image design, which cannot be macroed AFK.I think there ARE times when it is acceptable. I bought a second account and decided to make my new account the master image designer so I could drop it and try some other stuff on my old one. By that time I had already been playing as an ID for at least a month, so I knew perfectly well what I was doing. My only goal was to master as fast as possible so that I could drop it off my first account.
There are always exceptions to every rule. However, we're getting off topic. ![]()
Lol. Thank you FrenchFries, I enjoyed reading your post, especially the part about throwing durnis around

The point that most of the Image Designers were trying to make was, I think, if you're going to ask for help, don't be a **edit** about it. It sounds like you won't be. But many others are, and here's the simple fact of it all, and it's something the l33t d00ds and other 13 year olds need to understand very quickly in life: NOBODY EVER HAS TO HELP YOU WITH ANYTHING. PERIOD. You could potentially have to go through life doing everything on your own. Therefore, when you ask someone for help, you do it with respect and kindness, not expectations. As far as everyone else is concerned, and I target this at those people who feel they "deserve" everything they want (not you Oona, none of this is targetted at you), you don't have to be a Jedi. I personally don't care what your wants or needs are. Now, if you want to be one, and your path runs through me, don't disrespect what I do simply because it's not something YOU like to do. Easy as that. I plan on being a Jedi someday myself, and you can bet if I need help I will be asking very politely with a smile on my face andminty fresh breath. And if I'm denied, that is their right.

You do have to remember though, that all image designers are being controlled by some inner 13 year old girl. I call mine Jessica

sorry but you totally missed our point about holo-grinders in image design.WE DON'T CARE if they like it, master it and keep it. Its not the possibility they may get some of our customers. Its the ATTITUDE in which they come in here and bash us more often then not. We only ask for some respect. Im sure all of us are willing to help anyone holo-grinder or not, as long as they arent rude to us in the process.
*end rant*
Hey people what's the big problem with macroing? If someone is doing it, so what? Is ir going to kill you? I think not! Just chill out on fussing about the macros and the holo ppl. There is nothing you can do to stop it. You are just wasting your own time by typing all this stuff out and getting yourself all worked up for nada!
