Janae, you say it is whining, but the problem is that arguing (or even dueling)in this gamereally doesn't solve any problems. I mean, you saw my story above, and I'm a master of 2 combat profs right now. Arguing back with those people would have only frustrated me, and had I challenged them to duel me they would have complained about how it isn't far since they are "just" entertainers. I think some of the worst discrimination I have gotten in this game has been by OTHER IDs or OTHER dancers... NOT the general public.
And I fail to understand your logic of telling those who find other people's actions offensive that the problem is on OUR end. I might be missing something, but I have NEVER thought the word "c.unt" have been appropriate in any context. There is no group of humans from the isle of vag who call themselves that. You can't even compare black culture using the n-word to that phrase. It is truly like compairing apples and oranges. There are words in this language that are purely offensive and never used in a friendly way.
And that handy /addignore feature only goes so far. My list is currently full. But in the case above, I ignored them and they still continued to speak in a derogative manor about me. What have I solved then? Just because I cannot hear them doesn't mean they aren't saying terrible things about me; infact, I was told it only got worse. How did I win in that situation?
Sorry you live by the sticks and stones philosophy of life. However, some of us are not as thick skinned.

Heh...well I am a man in RL and I also happen to be a Cosmotologist. (hair, makeup, nails etc...)
Funny thing is, when I tell people that in RL I sometimes get a response like "Umm...I thought you had a girlfriend?"
Or...if they don't ask, I can see them ponder it.
Then when I tell them how much people pay me to help them look good, and to work in a salon with gorgeous women all around me, they get quite interested, and a lot of the guys wish they did it.
So, ingame I finally decided to switch to ID for a change from fighting. I feel I'm quite prepared to respond to any remarks since I have heard them all.
"You dumb f@g!!!"
...nope. "Smart straight man"

There is a few on Ahazi for you to /flutter at. The majority ofmale ID's sit in the corners with /afk and ever 3 mins you can see -29 float above them. they never speak never move unless it's a tell for training request. it's kinda sad that the grind might take alot of people out of the tent customer wise as well as grinder company. One think about the afk grinders is they never cause any trouble... yet they take alot of abuse because they are doing ID but won't help players.
oh well, such is life and we must deal withthe new changes.
I wish wish we had an ID droid... I was on dath for 30 mins and had to tell 6 people to go to coronet for stats.

C.unt is used by many feminists as a positive word and would prefer to be called that instead of woman. I don't think you'll find a case without a counter-example. They're just words. You can get over them.
You have options to end the 'harassment'. Crying to SOE is one of them. I'd prefer that you use others.

Janae, today I was harassed by a player who sent me tells from another server. Two, actually, when I put the first one on ignore he switched from Gorath to Kauri. He repeatedly spammed the same tell over and over (which was in binary, just a series of 0's and 1's) and then when I asked him what he was doing, told me he was stalking his ex-wife's friends because if she was a b*tch, we all must be too. Should I just ignore it and go on? What if they don't stop at harassing me in-game? This world is full of sick and twisted people, who's to say a few of them aren't playing the game? What if he found ways to harass me outside the game? Should I just keep ignoring it then?
I have an acquaintance on my server whose account was recently hacked into. She received threats from the person who did it,threatsmade onthe life and welfare of her and her family. Should she just ignore those too?
Ignoring harassment does not always make it go away. And why SHOULD we have to put up with it? I have ZERO tolerance for harassment. Your stand is ridiculous, and will only serve to encourage people who enjoy the harassment to do it more.

Why would you prefer we use the others? Don't feel like getting banned for harassment?

True, there are solutions other than ignorance. In the example cited above, contacting the proper authorites does sound worthwhile because it would affect you and your account outside the game.
However, for things like being called a 'slave', or people questioning or mis-stating your sexual orientation, one can deal with such thigns in game. Things aren't always black and white, but for many of them there are solutions other than calling the authorities.
As for zero tolerance of harassment: Perhaps I should be banned for referring to people as idiots and perhaps others should be blocked for calling me a troll. Could someone post their definition of 'harrassment' so that I know what you're zero tolerance policy concerns. Are you using a legal definition from a US court? Are you just referring to someone repeatedly doing something to you that you don't like?
I guess the 'troll' is fed... but I fear that with the lack of people on the servers, you won't find me around much anymore. There's no one to talk to. AH used to be full. Moena used to be half-full. Kaadra used to be fun. Dantooine was empty. But times have changed and so have the people. Maybe I'll come back with JTL... but for now, good luck out there. Enjoy what you have. I guess you won't have to hear of my high prices any more. Maybe with the CB things will be affordable again.
Love to you all,

Actually female Twi'leks are often slaves, frequently made so by males of their own species. I don't remember the details, but Oola wasn't a rarity. Even the Emperor's got his own cadre of Twi'lek dancing slaves. *insert 60's porn music here*
Anyone who calls you a slave might very well be doing a little RP. If it's to your liking, figure out why you're not a slave, and tell them. "I used a special Teras Kasi skull-crushing move on the guy who tried to sell me into slavery, want to see it first hand?"
Then you can duel and kick their buttses, same as always.

Ifsomeone feels harassedthey should /report. It's up to SOE's customer service to figure out if it was true harassment or not. We all have different lines as to what we consider rude or hurtful. If you have indicated to a person that they are upsetting you and they continue, that is harassment. If what they have said or done in the first place is clearly something the majority of people would consider harassment I would say /report instantly. This is a teen rated game and mods/CS strive to uphold a teen friendly environment both in game and on the forums, saying mature conversations/words should remain within the confines of a private home where all present are comfortable with it. Certainly there are gray areas, but it doesn't matter what some random person calls their beloved grandmother, there are things youdo not say to people in person and certainly not behind the cowardly shield of a monitor.
Back to the original topic...I have had the pleasure of knowing many extremely gentlemanly male ID's on Starsider and chatting with even more on our forum. What those name callers don't understand (and probably never will) is that most females find sensitivity and creativity extremely attractive in men
They often accompany many other traits that make men wonderful brothers, husbands, fathers, and friends

Exactly, Kwee. I would hazard a guess that most of theguys being bugged are happily married or in a loving relationship, whereas those doing the harassing are probably spending most of their weekend nights alone.

Precisely! Leave it to Kwee to know how to put it so well.

Honestly.. I think a big part of how your character is treated is based upon what it looks like and how you act while playing that character.
Keep in mind too that a majority of the same guys calling you slang terms for gay men have characters thatare wearing a skirt.
