Former master ID here... was a hologrinder who (GASP!) enjoyed the profession. Kinda shocked me too... you guys are all underrated as a Prof IMO.This stuff is harder than it looks.Held on to it for a while after I mastered it to play around and make my guildies and buddies all look better.

Things I think need to be changed/fixed (and this is from memory so forgive me if some of it is outdated, just trying to help out).

Things I liked: Great to be able to customize toons beyond the original interface.

Pet Peeve: Need to be some way to pay for services other than tip, or have a place to setup shop... vendors don't work for the profession/services.

Wish list:

1) Fix the bug where, upon making an ID change (height especially) it reverts back to the default or makes a person shorter instead of taller. Sometime I could not tell what the orginal setting was.

2) Have some sort of interface that will tell you what the orginal setting was, so it can't get "lost" if the client does not like what you have done and wants to change it back after hitting accept. An easier way to take note of it, issue #2 sometimes interferes with this.

3) There should be a setting for eye width as well as shape and size. I'd like to be able to move eyes closer together.

4) Not being able to see the changes made to a player, although they can (hair color etc), better interface for viewing changes than just the HUD.

5) Need Tattoos for other races besides Zabs.

6) Hips for females! Toons should be able to be made more hippy without being made fat!

7) Easier way to make people bald besides the workaround/exploit?

Good luck guys! Hope you all get what you want!

I am not an ID. I am a Trando, so I am dropping by to mention that there is little an ID can do for me. I have no hair. And I am told I can't have a tatoo, which is a drag.

Can you add something for the Trandos? I want a tatoo on my arm that says "Mom".

I personally think Image Designer is a useless profession that should be done away with. If someone wants to have their appearance changed, allow them to do it! Have a special "Customize Appearance"menu so that the character who wants their appearance changed cannot only do it themselves, but seeall the available possibilities that they have.

Just my two cents.

1) I enjoy being there to help out my friends with ID work.

2) My pet peeve is you can't see what a hairstyle will look like until they accept it. You can look at the floating wigs in the window all day long, but it's just lousy. You can't see them very well (especially if they have dark hair) and have no idea what they actually look like on your client. This is the only ID change that performs this way.

3) My big wish list item is that more stuff is put into the skill tree. It is way too bare to justify the skill points.

It was stated earlier, but I'll second it (from a non-ID perspective) :
Merchants' vendors should be alterable only by ID's... require the merchant to be of an appropriate level, who can then select on the vendor the option to consent an ID'er the ability to change its apearance.... this would give ID'ers lucrative gigs, as their services would be in real demand by arguably one of the wealthiest professions.

I did ID for a holo, though i have since surrendered it a few days ago... as far as its current state it is pretty narrow in its scope. I always though it would be neat if ID's were given the option of doing "plastic surgery" on a person to help reduce some of there non-GCW faction ratings. My logic was that if enough things were changed (more than just hair-color... there would have to be a threshold for what would be considered "plastic surgery") then perhaps NPC's wouldn't recognize them as easily, so maybe that would give ID's something to do that is useful for people that want to get rid of that nasty faction rating with Jabba or someone else. Plus, that would make it so that ID'ers could actually make some money doing it, since that service would come in handy for a lot of people who want to go raid fort tusken but not get ganked every time they walk within 64 meters of a tusken spawn out in the desert. I am sure that others have suggested a similar idea, and I know that working out the faction balancing would be tough, but I think you need to link Image Design to mainstream combat professions like Entertainers and Doctors are linked... make something that ID'ers do be if not vital at lthe very least useful to John Q. Public.

Although I am not an Image Designer I think my input may be useful to know the view of those outside the profession. I would LOVE to go to an image designer if I was confident of two things.

1) I knew that I would be given many more options than what I was given at the beggining of character creation. (If that is currently possible it needs to be more widley known, if it is not you need to be given more variety)

2) I want to be able to browse through what could be done. As I understand it, the ID will try to match something to your requests. However, I as the customer want to look through something like a catelouge to choose my perfered style. ITs more realistic, would save time, and I believe would make more demand for the service.

Without these two things in place I will simply never get anything done because without #1 I would feel that there was no point, and without #2 I wouldn't know if there were any options that I would truly like other than asking for each one to be put on and see if I like it.

If these things are not in place for the ID, I ask the devs for the outsiders, and perhaps even ID's themselves for them to be put in. It would give a profession put in the game to offer more variety, true integration.

I think it would be neat if ID could modify the look of vendors

Here's a nitpicker question that needs to be added to this profession too...

Why is it we're allowed to select bald as an option during character creation... *humans anyway* But it doesn't seem to be an option as a *hair cut* for an ID to give to someone. I know someone who was *bald* and just wanted to help someone out with ID xp... but after they did... couldn't go back to being *bald* and that upset them. Nit-picky I know... but a valid argument to some.

Let our Baldness shine in all it's glory if we want it!!! *In a very non-offensive mannor I assure you*

Also.... Have the color options changed for things like eyebrows/lekku/ lip shades? Because I can't even seem to repeat in character creation what one of my characters looks like from around 4 months ago... maybe that's just me though.

Sincerely,

The Lunatic Fringer

Give Image Designers the ability to Set Color on all armor (like it is now on Composite! but for all armor and at a Master Image designer box!). Honestly I can't see why not to do this. You do design the image of the person, why not they're coloring of they're outfits too after they've been created.

To answer this one.... that kind of steps on the Tailor's toes a bit. In many regards... I think the Tailor struggles just to have that coloring option to let someone overlap something they can do... now standardized *coloring kits for multiple objects* like their doing for the upcoming *trick out your vehicle* patch... that might be a good alternative... and something an ID probably would come up with technically. Aka... Makeup kits for the ID maybe.

I am a merchant and I think one great addition to the image designer class would be the ability to customize vendors as well as player. Right now we get completely random stats (i.e like the initial character creation "randomize all" button). This is a drag since to get the look we want, we have to create a vendor, look at it, destroy it and repeat till satisfied. This can take a long time and often I settle for "ok" rather than "good" or "great".

Please make ID's able to fix my vendors!

(I'd pay at least 10-20k to get my vendors looked at (per vendor)...

#1 thing you enjoy about the profession
It has a use. We can help people. I wish the developers would let us help more people by expanding our services to vendors.

#1 pet peeve with the profession
The interface is horrable.

#1 wish list item for the profession
Fix the interface & let us makover vendors.
