This always happens on patch day

I think some mounts fetched a million when that was brought in

Prices will settle down and the community here is clearly not a greedy or a self-centred bunch of people

I charged 20k for stat migrations. For holo emotes, i charged 10k per, or 30k for the entire thing. New skin colors/hair colors were the same price as the old skin/hair colors. I'm sure there were other IDs charging more than me, yet i made about 600k last night (about half of what i've earned since octoberwhen0 i hit master). How? I was plesent to my customers, i threw in a few free changes. They came back, or tipped me very well. I was also able to convince a few to get the holo emotes in addition to the stat migration, or some minor ID changes. Overall, nearly everyone thought my prices were fair (Except for some other IDs that is)

When I read about the change in stat migration i did not like it. I don't like the fact that I don't have a choice to either wait for 3 days as usual or hunt down an ID that doesn't overcharge. I liked the freedom to move around my stats whenever I felt like it, and now that just has been revoked and given tot he ID's who logicaly will overcharge. Whether it will calm down in a week or so has to be seen. I just hope it won't be as insanely priced as when I first started playing.

As with the new changes no doubt ID will become overcharged entirely, because gaining has been made slow.

I also have no idea what the devs are thinking about a 2 min delay before any changes can be made outside the tent.

I did 2. My price is 50K. But one guy I charged 10K, cause I felt sorry for the guy (half migrated from the day before & a Rebel). Another, I just made him pay 5K cause he was clearly a newbie (though he gave me 10 anyway cause he was polite & had CLASS). But a guy wearing comp armor, holding 5 million credits, mastered 6 professions & whining about a petty 50K bill while wasting 10 soild minutes in which I can do NOTHING else (but could have designed the 3 other people in line) & stuck in a tent in Lag hell aways from my actual city & friends? Pay & LIKE it or get bent, deadbeats. I could have earned the same money & had FUN doing it in the same time. Instead I helped you. You think your character & time are more valuable than mine. YOU'RE LAUGHABLY WRONG. The end. (Note that this is aimed at all rich deadbeats in general, not anyone in particular.)

And for the record, no one plays an IDer for MONEY. PLEASE. I could have been a Master Doctor, Commando, or Architectin less time than it took to get my title back when I did it. Sure some people got it easy the last few months. But all of us are using up the skill points for an ELITE MASTER PROFESSION here & we could JUST AS WELL have been millionaires like so many others. Instead we forgo that for FUN cause we LIKE the profession. And we are EVERY bit as entitled to EVER CREDIT that anyone..ANYONE...else is. Don't like it? Shoo. Don't get ID'd. That simple.

To say "dont get id'ed" is far to easy when *everyone* depends on an ID to migrate stats, and none wants it this way. Not the image designer, not the player. Neither of them wants to sit on their butt doing nothing for 10 minutes. ID's overcharging so they're not bothered, players are paying too much because it is the *only* way to migrate stats - other than become a novice ID yourself (which I am still).

Don't you see how screwed up this gets?

You know, my first an only stat migration I charged the poor guy 1K. I felt so bad for him... zabrak and STILL couldn't get his composite on

You know, there are two types of IDs in the world: The type that will charge you 100K and the type that will charge 5K... or less. There are also two types of customers in the world: The type that pays exactly what you ask of them and no more and the type that gives you a tip if you give them good service.

You guys need to take everything with a grain of salt. Not all IDs will charge 100K. I'd bet it's mostly the people who mastered ID specifically to make money off the patch. If you don't want to pay 100K then by golly I say don't! Fine a nice ID who charges you 5K, and if you feel the need to tip them 100K then do it... but in my opinion if you DO feel the need to spend so much money, spend it on someone who's not quite so greedy. Makes me feel and fuzzy inside when I tip someone 20K for a buff when they asked for nothing

I have been charging 10k for a stat migration. 1k per min seem fair. and any other changes they want are thrown in for free. Other than that I have been asking 1k per session. I am a trained profession and need some income to pay the rent. Most give a little more, but free just bugs me. I think most players have alot of cash, or can run 5 mission and get way more cash than i charge. Now for new players, free will be fine. I remember being new and running mission paying 200. lol But most hunters generate several $k in an hour. So I think I should get something other than 0 for my services. I have gotten many 0 tips prior to this publish. That is why i now have a 1k min.

I don't charge for anything really. I just ask that they tip me whatever they think what i've done is worth. I've done Stat for 3k and for 20k, just depends on what the person tips me. Heck I did a whole makeover, emotes and stats on someone for 20k. As long as they like what they get. I dont' really worry about how much money I get. Not to mention, I throw in All the Holoemotes with every id I do.

Ok. I know I am going to get one-starred for this, but oh well. People are screaming about price gouging for stat migration and not a single person screaming about it has said what they think a fair price is! Is it 50K? 10K? 5K? 1K? Are we expected to offer this as a free service to everyone? Anyway, I personally like to charge whatever I think my time is worth. I try to state my prices up-front before I even start a session. If the prices are too high, then please find someone else! I am not the only image designer in the galaxy! I know that most people feel that as an image designer, I must have mastered it in an hour and have no expenses. This is simply not true! It took me weeks to master back in the days before mind buffs and brandy. And I have spent a lot of time practicing, understanding what kind of changes need to be made to look good in certain clothes, knowing what the bugs are and how to get around them if possible. I spend a lot of time trying to find out what the customer wants and making sure they will be happy. I do things like point out that they have been hit with the old slider bugs and have no nose or chin (sometimes they haven't noticed and are shocked at how they look when they really look at themselves). I think that I deserve as much as a master of an profession, and certainly more than a novice brawler or marksman with a few boxes can make in the same amount of time. Its only fair!

I think I'll charge 1K per "master" badge the user has... 500 creds if none.

That way, the people who can't pay (new) don't get soaked (by me)

You have 20 badges? you SHOULD be able to afford 20K

This is not totally true. I have 12 badges, but my main profession is Politician, which takes almost all of my free time. I may have 12 badges, but my bank account stands around 0 credits on average.

I often don't like when say, an entertainer, or a tailor, or a guildmate says "oh, just go ahead at tip me whatever you want" because they're trying to be nice. lol. I don't like being put on the spot because I both, don't want to look like a cheapskate, and well, I'm not rich, so I'm not going to give someone tons of money. I prefer set prices so I can decide whether or not I want someone's services and feel like I'm being fair and equitable by paying what is asked of me. So, I was really curious about what stat migration would generally cost and came here to find out before going in the game (this was yesterday). Lo and behold was I severely disappointed when the first people posting seemed to say that the trend would be upwards of 100K for a stat migration. It really made me shake my head and I was extremely disappointed in the people that were doing this, and almost felt like "wow, ID's are asshats." Such a shame. LOL I was so very happy to be proven wrong. Not all of them are. Just some of them, just like with every other profession. Once I got into the game, maybe it's the server I play on, I'm not sure, but the two ID's I went to actually had extremely reasonable prices for stat migration. And, I never once actually came in contact with one that was going to charge me 100K. And, then after reading more of the boards, I see that after the initial influx of unreasonable greed, there's been a lot of ID's who have spoken up and said they only charge 5k, or 10k, or 20k, all of which seems reasonable. I almost suspect that the price gougers who actually don't care about their clientele are in the minority here, and I'm thankful for that. As a person in another entertainer profession (dancer) I know what it's like to appear useless and be looked at with resentment from time to time. I think those of you who insist on charging such absurd prices might want to think about the damage that you are doing to the profession that you know and love and to your fellow, reasonable, ID'ers and their reputations. If everybody ends up feeling like I felt originally--that ID's were nothing but a bunch of greedy people--then you are most assuredly damaging everybody's reputations by your actions. And, even if you are an ID just to do the "fun" stuff, that's fine. Don't do stat migrations if you don't want to. Believe me, sometimes I don't feel like spending 10 minutes of my time giving out a mind buff. Know what I do? I drop my title, or say, no I'm sorry, not right now. I don't try to charge someone 100K because I dont' feel like doing it at the time. My clients deserve a little more respect than that. And, if an ID tries to charge me 100K for a stat migration because of greed or they are in a bad mood, they get blacklisted, not only from giving me stat migrations, but from the "fun" stuff as well. And, I would assume that most ID's want repeat customers for makeovers, why else be an ID in the first place? By being unreasonable, you're doing nothing but shooting your customer base in the foot, while at the same time damaging your profession's reputation, which is not good for anybody. I've been really enjoying the new ID stuff, as a customer, this last 24 hours. I've been spending a lot of money. And, in the long run, the reasonable ID's that I've been to are going to be getting far more money from my repeat business than they are for a single 100K stat migration that earns them a spot on my ignore list. Multiply that by a whole lot of other players who do the same thing and you'll find yourself out of business fairly quickly.

And, to answer the question, what is reasonable? I think most of the playerbase would say anything between 5K and 20K is reasonable for a stat migration. And, if the playersare anything like me, while they're waiting and talking to you for the 10 minutes, they'll probably purchase other things in the process, thereby making your haul anywhere from 30K to 35K. I honestly don't think that's a bad sum of money to make in the course of 10 minutes.

Ever since the new patch, I've only been charging 2k per stat that they change. I haven't had any problems about that. I agree that the other ID'ers don't need to be charging a fart load of credits to make a stat change. Sure we aren't the richest profression out there, but they shouldn't be gouging the clients pockets like they are. As long as you are honest, have good client ettiqute and you treat them right with a decent price, then they will continue to come back to you.

OK os last night i spent an hour or so in theeds tent and corents tent. I made about 36k most stuff i was working around 2k per change and i was doing stats for 10k. All of my clients paid me more for what i was asking. I have found the easiest way to do stats is to start them off first then see if they want any other changes to while the time while the 10 min counter winds down.
