I am an ID Lurker as well. I liked the forum so much I grinded up to nearly Master on an alternate server. I was too shy to do anything to anyone but myself, but I still had fun.

The current ID forum feel is much better now, Kwee, then it was a week after the patch. In a little while I think it will be much better. One thing that helps is new members. Hehe. I know that is just another ID issue - it scares away new people. I'm actually talking about people who are completely new to Star Wars. They don't know how the stat migration system used to be and so will not insult you when they find out they need you to do them. It just takes time.

The big changes have happened and now the polishing will take place. As the publish gets polished more and more I think the forum will become a happier as well. And the posts more constructive.

Sir_Voor, I hope you change your mind. You were definitely a factor in my decision to try out ID and many MANY people would be very sad to see you go. People like you and Kwee and other forum vets add as much to the community as the Developers do to the content. The profession will be poorer without you.

About delaying the minipublish... ug. The Rangers have been waiting for the changes promised to us by Holocron in August and believe me, any thought of delay causes a collective (wince). Currently I BELIEVE we are slated after Squad Leader so... maybe around Christmas?

Anyway, I still enjoy lurking here. I just skip the unconstructive/angry toned posts (I assume the developers lurking here do the same). The ideas in those posts may be worthwhile, but I'm not going to ruin my lunch hour with the tone. They are necessary for blowing off steam and frustration though, so don't let them worry you too much.

Thank you Kwee for all the hard work. And for helping us newbs so much. You've enhanced the hours I've spent playing this game considerably and I'm very grateful. The Image Designer profession too has enhanced my enjoyment of the game, timers and all. I look forward to seeing what changes in the next few patches.

If you are so mad about Stat Migrations, just dont do them.

If noone does Stat Migrations, the entire player base will complain.

I didn't one star you(I have the system turned off it means nothing in the scale of things). Honestly though if you say things like " If you want to act like a kvetch" it does come across like you are calling them one.

I think things are starting to cool off here a little, partly because we're resigning ourselves to the changes, and partly because we and the player base are getting used to them. Really, when you look at it, all we've been seriously fubarred on is the timer and stat migrations. They're making the stat migration worse in pub9 but they are making the timer a little bit better... I know I'm not as pessimist as my dear friend Syzyzzyzyzyzygy (who really is an awesome person, so don't be hard on him or I'll find you and maliciously break your legs), but to me that shows they are putting in at least something. It helps me hope we won't have our bugs swept under the rug like musicians and dancers have had for over a year. I think it's a bit premature to say we're hooped forever, and I hope everyone here can start using some bright colours in their posts again. Just my two cents as a newcomer

O.o

Anyway. I'm so disappointed in the state of our profession right now. I feel BROKEN.And I've never, ever been someone who glosses over things. I don't beat around the bush, and I'm a very, VERY vocal person. This is not to say I'm some mindless idiot blathering all over the forums about things I know nothing about. At least, that's not the NORM, not saying I've never done it before. I try to be as constructive as possible, as often as possible. But that doesn't mean I'm always going to be positive. I can't very well say "Oh my gosh, the image designer changesare awful! I never wear my title anymore! *BEAMING SMILE* I'm a mindless patsy for all the l33t d00ds who want to kill stuff, and it just MAKES MY DAY!" Okay, so that's a bit over the top. The point is. It is NEVER my intention to cause problems, or to grief other people. I am an image designer, not just because my (hidden) title and badge say so, but because it's part of who I am. I want to make people pretty, and I'm damn good at it. Unfortunately... I don't get much of a chance to do that anymore. I am not the only one with this problem. And yes, the roots of this are firmly entrenched in the ID mini publish.

I do not want to cause problems for Kwee or any of the other ID's. Kwee is my personal SWG hero.I can't even fathom the possibility of being faced with so much backlash and personal blame, and still be cheerful and happy as much as she is. And some of the other ID's have become very, VERY dear to me (you know who you are). I have always considered, and will always consider, us to be a community. We may not always agree on things, but we're still united. I don't think this has changed that. If there are divisions, they are small and unimportant.

*hugs the ID community, especially Kwee and baby Kwee*

I resigned from the ID profession after the mini publish because I felt I did so little real ID work any more, it was all just stat migration and I got a lot of angry customers about the price I charged for it. Of course I soon missed the whole ID business, so I'm now grinding my way back to Master, it's slow, and it's tedious, but I know being a Master ID is the most fun I've had playing this game, so I reckon it's worth it.

The reason why ID is so much fun is not only because of the job it entails, but also because of the community both in the game and on the forums.

Ok, this isn't entirely on topic, but what the hell...

I think Syzygy is right on. Do any of you think that should we should believe change will come without dev input? Tell me, what would all of you do, if (as RS passes through these forums, he might read this and take a few minutes to type his thoughts....) Runesabre were to post on here, if we read something from him in the morning saying he understood things are not well as they are. That discord and unhappy players are not good for the game. That he were looking at every part of ID personally and that he were (heaven forbid) going to play as an ID with no help from allies, and level just a ways through it to understand the functionality of it, and the sad state of the xp progression. And further that the design team would be working as they could, in the short term future to fix what they had broken. Who among us would flame RS for that, I think many would rejoice. Now obviously, what I have said might sate me but would not be the response he would give, and thats cool, but it would communicate that he and the design team accept that they have borked it, and that my friends would be a gigantic first step to bringing ID back together as a profession, and ID back into the SWg community.

Now that said, we have asked for this on end for a month and a half. I do not consider it possible that RS and the devs dont know the state of ID. I would think it probable that as they put things in priority, ID just happens to not rank very high. And they might just think that Jedi, JTL, and smugglers problems rank above us. Now in fact the previous profs problems deserve attention, lord knows SMugglers deserve a lot of attention and a bold print "PLEASE FORGIVE US..." but we might not need a mini publish to adress what is wrong, but what I think we would all agree we need, is for RS to post here and let us know he understands what ID has become, that he is indeed trying to fix it or get a fix scheduled, and that we have not been as Wookies howling into the wind.

And my ego does not need 5 stars if any migt be inclined, it was dashed when I realized my poor entertainer toon's R2 droid conned red to me, that it "looked like instant death"

Edit: I was going to post something here, but halfway through I changed my mind. I will not post again in this forumuntill changes are made to our profession. Doing otherwise is a pointless waste of my time. Perhaps I will see you all next quarter.

Again, I appologise if this is yet more negativity, but....

Aw, heck with it. You all know exactly what I am thinking.

I'm really sorry Kwee.. I know that lately I haven't been positive in most of the things I said. I've been involved with some very big jerks in the CSR department, and it's probably that frustrationthat's spilled over to the Devs. Again, I apologize, and I'm going to do my best not to say anything unless it has at least has a positive slant.

Sorry you took it that way. I really was mostly my resignation that people are gonna do what they want.

And sorry for assuming you one starred me.

I think when long time ID's speak of giving up the profession or the game, when they stop practicing the art that some have done for so long, and when some of the ID's we all know here (Just Bri in particular) speak of giving up on this forum as an chance to effect change through our input it should say something. A month and a half ago these much longer tenured ID's chastised me for being to harsh on the changes, saying "most everyone hates them". I think it should be telling that their constructive feedback then was ignored, and if not ignored, not responded to, which to an ID under the current system might seem the same. Point being, the players opinions I personally value most, those who understand the profession much more than I, seem to be 1) giving up the ghost, understanding the devs have little interest in responding. 2) Are one of the few ID vets who like the way it is now. or 3) happen to be Kwee, who we all should listen to, as she obviously knows more about what the developers think than we can. Now I believe Kwee has done about all that can be done from here end to this point. I think the few who love the current system are entitled to love it, but are the clear minority. And I think those who are tired of their constructive feedback echoing through threads devoid of dev input are entitled to not only their opinion, but for those opinions, and dating back a ways their constructive feedback to be given a response. I think anger and discord has little value here, but considering what has appeared to be a majority that do not like what has become of ID lately, how much value does being positive have either? Thus far being constructive has netted what...music, reduced timers for MID and more xp for stat migrations? Sorry to be negative yet again, but this will be my last request for dev feedback on this, please prove you are listening and care what the ID community thinks.

Assuming we're all in agreement that players read these forums far more than devs, and that both positive and negative feedback has little influence, why are we ruining the atmosphere of this forum for ourselves? Thinking in terms of the seven dwarfs: let's be Happy, not Grumpy.
