Good point...we aren't "a" social profession. We are basically THE social profession, with the holocron gringer apocalypse having ruined the others pretty much utterly. Sure there are exceptions but they are just that...exceptions. Your average gamer thinks AFK whe nthey think "social" these days. Sad sad sad. We're a holdout.

NOW I know what the big crazy ID free for all of madness in the Valcyn Coronet Tent reminded me of yesterday! A CANTINA full of people! Back when those existed =)

yeah i did well too and there was someone blatently saying they were the cheapest in the tent. thats why i like the timers

when someones doing thier free stat migration i have 10 minutes to make cash

It wasn't meant to be free. And this jerk the original post refers to is most likely one of the onestarring kiddie trolls who came in here bragging about how useless we were, it takes 45 minutes to master, & they were going to do all they could to ruin us for revenge at their whiney little stat migration priveledge being revoked from them. I assure you, at least a few of these crybabies decided to wreck buisiness for the rest of us out of spite. They will get bored & get lost soon, rest assured. Too bad they had to wreck the big opening day w/ their griefing though.

And don't kid yourselves...if I stood outside some city's mall & spammed "giving away free weapons! don't pay for them!" with my master WS...it WOULD be griefing & I WOULD have a CSR on me like THAT. Disagree? Try it out. Dare ya.

THE SOLE issue here is that people view ID, mostly due to its being social & yes, percieved as "for girls" i.e. useless.....as deserving nothing whereas guns, no more "real" or meaningful, are not. It's all there is to it. Sad to see even IDers succumbing to the abuse heaped on them. "Maybe I AM worthless & deserve nothing...."

DEAD wrong. It takes the ONLY real resource...TIME. Harvester resources that people idiotically think are worth more than ID work are IMAGINARY, see. My TIME, however is real & worth a lot more.

complain all you want about people setting lower prices than you, but in my oppinion you dont have a right to complain untill youve been a smuggler as stated several times in this tread you got no complaints on prices.

Here aremy typical customers :

It free if its under 30% right, thats what all the other smugglers do

100 creds pr % right no charge under 20%

F*ck you sliced it for speed i want damage you suck

OK your total charge comes to 27.500. is it ok if i give your 20k?

what you charge for mol clamp schematics you suck

Will you sell me 7k faction points at cost? no . You suck il tell my guild never to use you

How much do you charge pr slice? 5k . Il give you like 2k

So untill you gone through this + 10 months of neglect from SOE

Nerfs to 75% of your skills

Dont complain, there will always be people undercharging

I know we have our own boards but being a master smuggler/TKM i figured that since everybody come into out boards bi*chin i could go into yours actually the 2 minute timer is the reason im in here if it wasnt for that i would be having fun playing right now

It all just boils down to the fact that there is always going to be a disagreement on whether or not Image Designers deserve compensation. There is always going to be a disagreement on which is best, working for tips, charging a set amount, or giving it all away fro free. We're not going to resolve this anytime soon.The condesending attitudes expressed by some people here only work against this.

Uh, Im sorry if I caused an uproar. I was only stating my opinion on the matter.

I stand by my statement: I respect ANYONE who is a master at their profession, and can make ANY kinda money at it. Some professions are better sources for money, some arent (IMO). I am a master ID on 1 of my toons, and I am a Master ID for the sole purpose to support my guild.Given that, I see the changes, and they are super cool! The holo emotes are neat, and everyone likes them thus far.

I am glad some of you are making the millions, but I think the big thing people dont like is the stat migration. The did, no matter how you look at it, take stat migration away from everyone and let 1 profession monopolize on it. Would be different if we NEVER could have done it ourselves, but we could till this mini-pub.

Although, I see your side and can agree IDs needed a push, and that was a pretty big one at that.

Good luck to you all, and I am not out to ruin anyones game - you will NEVER see me say "Oh, Ill do that for free" in spatial to anyone.

I have to agree on the stat migration thing. ID's *can* monopolize it and *can* (and do) charge outrageious prices for it. While I do run around with my MID tag on, I do not sit in the tents and spam my services and I *never* give my prices in spatial. Ever. To me, that's just plain rude. Wether doing it for free, charging set prices, or working for tips, it's no ones buisness but mine and my clients. I have a guild to run and ID, although fun (especially with the new changes), is not really a viable source of income for me. Why do I do it? Because I love it. That's why most of us do it. hrm.. late night posting leads to rambling. Point: spamming prices in spatial when working in the same area as other ID'ers is just plain rude (IMHO)

Well, the problem i'm having is FINDING AN ID who is NOT AFK!!!! I even had an ID right in front of me tell me, "Who me? I'm not an Image Designer?" I have been searching for an ID to finish my stat migration since this stupid update. I feel that the need for an ID to do stat migration is rediculous. The Image Designers WERE important and played a HUGE role in the SWG universe. But now, I find them WAY to arrogant, now that they have COMPLETE control over one's stat migration. Basically, I am stuck untill I can find an ID that will finish my stat migration. Why didn't they make it this way: A: you do your stat migration, but it take twice as long as it normally did (pre-patch) or B: you go to an ID and have it finished in 10min. That way, we are not fully dependant on thier profession!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made a little over 300K credits yesterday, from 18 customers. I didn't ask for a single price, instead telling people to pay what they felt the changes were worth. The lowest payment I received was 1K from somebody who just wanted his hair color changed. This one aside, all my other payments ranged from 5K to 50K for alterations. On average, I was getting 16K per customer. Even a guildie, who I told I would ID for free, paid me 10K just to change his hair syle and color.

Frankly, letting the customer decide got me more money than I'd have received had I charged. I'd have never charged 50K, but the person who paid 50K felt the work I did was well worth it. This woman who was advertising her services for free was probably still making a small fortune in tips.
