Also, are there plans for a 'register on planetary map' feature of some kind for IDs?

On the same logic you could move the whole of ID except for hair and makeup to doctor, seeing as how if anyone was going to perform plastic surgery on you, it'd be a doctor. But no, ID's are trained in how to adjust peoples bodies to how they want them to be. Who says they can't adjust your muscle as well?

I think the emotes will be fun in certain situations as well. (C'mon... a kitty!!)
You've got to be kidding? Please tell me these holo-emotes are a belated April Fools joke?
Other than graphics bearing a slight resemblance to the movies... SWG is growing to have about as much to do with Star Wars as Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen:
Smugglers who don't smuggle
Wimpy Jedi
Wookiee armor
Stormtroopers more terrifying than Krayt dragons (and with higher HAMs to boot)
All I can say is you guys better hit a home run with the Space Expansion.
At first I was not a fan of the 2 minutes timer, But after thinking about I Like IT! ![]()
It gives/forces you and the customerto wait, thus giving time to do a proper ID, not just a quicky. Also it gives you time to socialize!!!! which to offten does not happen. So I Think I'm going to be a big fan of it, but it's to soon to tell for sure. Good going
With the new XP system the color/level system needs to change, to something like tailors have. At novice ID you should be able to use all the colors in character creation, including BODY colors, there is now enough colors that some can be added with each box. My TC charactor is an 4-4-4-1 trandoshan and the eye-color palete was the only palete I could self-id with.
Dude - whatever you have done to and for the SWG dev team since you took over has been phenomenal. Either that or your predecessor was a tool. At any rate, FINE work, bud.. attaboy!

Why???? Do the Devs deem this worthy SW content?
I put forth an concise, logical argument yesterday against the emotes on one of the "In Testing" threads, and got flamed for it. My argument? Holographic images are only used by HOLOVID equipment in the star wars galaxy. Be it holocrons, droids, holorecording devices, interplanetary communications, whatever. Not Image Designer emotes.
Sure the emotes are cool, but it's not Star Wars. If they continue publishing this stuff every month, I could see myself quitting in a hurry, because I'm not paying to play some other Sci-Fi MMORPG. I'm playing for Star Wars!!! Granted, there are many aspects of this game that would potentially make an EU fanatic cringe already, this feature is just another item on a growing list. If you go ahead with this and continue implementing (admittedly cool) features that don't quite feel like Star Wars, you'll be shutting out a huge portion of the SW EU fan base.
My suggestion? Let the DEs be able to design holorecording devices for droids, and let the droids emote holographic images at the owner's command. This seems like a reasonable suggestion. Give the ID's a cool new feature, like cybernetic designs (hint, hint), etc. as a peace offering. Having people with cybernetic limbs would be a lot cooler than this.
I'm not an ID, though I was considering it back in pre-launch days. The whole concept of being a shoe-maker for a mob organization seemed really cool...But then I went BH and ended that idea...
So, let me start by saying that I am all for new content. I love the idea of giving IDs more variety and more usefulness. I don't mind the stat-migration change, and the hairstyles/colors/scars/tattoos will be a very good and welcome addition. Not just for the IDs, but for the community immersion as a whole.
That out of the way...
The holo-emotes have to be one of the worst ideas from the almighty "Desk of the Devs" since launch. No other addition to the game has done more to actually destroy the Star Wars immersion and suspension of disbelief. I want to see IDs get tons of stuff, but seeing players in full StormTrooper armor with skulls and kitties floating around their head is...well...just wrong.
If I didn't know better, I would suspect that SOE is using SWG to test some of the new graphics for EQ2. But you guys wouldn't do that...Right?
For once you're actually changing something in the game that doesn't DIRECTLY squash where any of our family characters were going. You appreciate feedback but ultimately do what you want (too bad you didn't take a stand with the crafting fix and cave as usual to the whiners). I actually applaud that.
Consider the following:
- If you are looking for logical feedback, would not someone want feedback BEFORE a design document is funded and delivered, much less assigned and developed?
- You are changing the profession to what you envision, not the playerbase of ID'ers.
- You are taking away a fundamental part of the game from almost every single player and giving it to beauticians, who neither asked for it or seem to want it. Specifically you are assigning stat migration to beauticians/design artists vice medical professionals.
I ask you, sir, does anyone there consider their market in these decisions? Emotes make much more sense than stat migration and apparently people are angry about those too because they have been begging for more tattoo and facial features. You have a group of people that basically view themselves as beauticians in some form and you force them to take 180 degrees from what their profession has been since launch with this stat migration.

Hmm..I hope this doesn't become the standard for future changes. If you expected that kind of response, maybe it was something to reconsider? I hope that community feedback (the constructive ones) in the futurewon't bepushed aside/ignored simply because there will be a potential for whining on the forums..
