Actually some of them are shared, not many I grant. But the bald head with long ponytail can be put on both female Zabrak and Humans, for example.

i agree with duck, just cause some people complain doesnt mean we should change swg completely, whats with the purple ghost pokemons around the head. is this is a hair style or just how they change the hair, i guess they are called emotes, eh, now ID's will complain that they dont have herbal essence instead of the bubbles(bad joke) but seriuosly it looks alot less like star wars now, lame how some people complain for a change when u know the devs will change it back like the nova troopers and everything else..... and i dont care if anyone criticizes this damn reply like benkos

Woah! Does everyone realise what a milestone this is for MMO's? For the first time in hitory, vevelopers of a MMO is adding content specifically geared towards the player group I like to call "LOL l33ts". No longer will these players have to use whatever they can find in the game to act silly, they will now have their own content, made just for them...
Five minutes after this patch goes live you will see something like this; A wookie named "FurryB alls" running around deathblowing rebels (He's a wookie, so he kills rebels only. He'd tell you it's part of the "joke" if you asked him and could make him stop saying "LOL" for two minutes) to the left and right while yelling "LOL i kill u n00bs LOL!!!!". If you examine his bio it will contain all badges and read "Da greatest pimp of all LOL!!!!".
He will also have shampoo bubbles growing out of his ears.
When you see him, remember that THIS IS THE PLAYER THEY ADDED THE HOLO EMOTES FOR! (I'll refer to them as hLOLo emotes from now on to avoid confusion.)
It's not just that FurryB alls the wookie made good use of the hLOLo emotes in his own way, he actually had them added just for him and his friends Kikk'me Grojn and Bigb00bs McTity to be used exactly like that. This was the whole point of the hLOLo emotes...
The devs must have monitored all the LOL l33ts and said to themselves "You know, these guys aren't getting anough love from us.". At one point there must've been a staff meating that went like this:

Q - So what can we do for this group of players? What kind of content can we add that will let them clown around in a more effective way during their stay in Coronet?
Art team director - Something with Gungans? Or maybe... uhm... larger ears?
Texture guy - I could make some polkadot colored skin tones perhaps?
Thuderheart - Do I really need to be here? The shame is giving me goose bumps all over...
Q - *stares at the television. Teletubbies is on* People, I have an idea!

You know, I'm terribly happy the ID's get new things to play with. And, as much as I disagree with Duck, and his attitude in general, I have to say:

Clearly, this will be a new criteria for adding a name to my /addignore list: Uses dorky emote icons.
For all this "technology" arguments about "how does it work", I will point you back to the master of sci-fi:
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
In other words, make up whatever justification you want, that's what Lucas does. Star Wars is not sci-fi, but science fantasy. Always has been, always will be.
But, to get back to my topic. These things are going to be a bleeding eyesore for the next six weeks.

im sorry i just have to say this
holo-emotes will kill this game for me. i can deal with the spammers trying to sell whatever at the starports and lagging the hell out of my dsl connection and such but holo-emotes are not star wars material. if you wanted to give ID's more to do offer more hair, more horn styles for zabraks more fur styles for wookiee more tattoos for all races that have skin. scars, tattoos are more realistic and would add to the feel of the game more than holo-emotes. please do not add this to the game.
i have been on since about a month after launch and i have enjoyed the game immensely even through the broken professions and uber-enemies and that toons can control at-st's instead of driving them.

Seriously got sick of reading all this bickering. I only made it through the first couplepost so if this has already been saidand I didn't make it that far then good, and ifnot then it's about darn time.If you are a person complaining about realism with these holo imagy things and you use a vehicle/creatures/waypoints/overhead map/guildchat/or any afk actions then go fly a freakin kite and shut the heck up. If you are a person complaining about your class not getting priority then I'll say what's been said before, there are a lot more of your profession then there are image designers. There are plenty of bugs in the game, and you have no reason to be pissed that they are fixing other things first, at least they are improving things and not nerfing this time. It's all progress and that's something we should all appreciate and be happy with. YAY for SOE fixing things once in a while....

oh for gods sake...this is the most non starwas pile of bantha poodoo i have ever seen...where is mr lucas when garbage like pokemon crud floating around hishead! they are destroying his baby and im to the point of quiting. thanx for taking my money and pushing garbage like this out on us.

Cancelled BOTH of my accounts, SOE and LA will no longer get my money for putting garbage out like this! Best of luck ONLY to you decent folks out there, I suggest if you're thoroughly disgusted with this garbage you do the same. There are litteraly probably close to 10 new MMO's coming out in the next year.
My last visit to SWG forums, deleting my link to ANY SOE link, etc.

well im saying this with bitter-sweetness but ive come the the conclusion its time for me to leave SWG. You won't hear me here "complaining" anymore and im not trying to make a big deal about me leaving.. im just letting you guys know that im leaving. Some of you know me, some of you do not. I dont know what to say... i've been here for almost a year now. I've just decided that personally this game doesnt live up to my expectations for a starwars game. I'm quiting mostly because of the principal of that... i dont like devoting my time and money into a game that imo ruins the spirit of starwars for me. It's no fun because of that. Secondly im leaving because i've waited a very long time, almost a year now, for certain balances and bug fixes. I know that dev's are hard at work and im sure things will be fixed eventually, but im beyond waiting anymore. Thats just my choice. i gotta do what i gotta do.
Maybe he should have spent more time in the game, and less on the forums. Personally any content is good content, we all have our hopes for priority, but I truely belive that they (the Dev's) release some things as they are finished, and don't want to put out a half worked publish or bug fix. This ID revamp is the second part of publish 8 which did wonders for alot of issues. Also I think everyone has or had a certain expectation for this game, which is why it has had monumental criticism, but we have to remember that alot of the player base are just gamers, not Star Wars nuts. You can't please everyone all the time, you just have to do your best with what you have. And anyone who isn't waiting around for the Space Expansion is probably going to miss out. Patieance is required and also hard to give, but we have to accept what we get. It's better than nothing, and that's saying alot. I really think that the Dev's do care about what they are doing, and are working hard to bring everyone up to speed. I'm still waiting for the BH fixes, and in time it will come. Until then I have to make do with what I have, as we all do. Get out and enjoy what's there. I took a break from October to the end of March, because of disappointment in the game, and since I've been back, it's gotten 100% better than it was. Maybe Duck and others who feel the same way should take a break and see what happens. Sometimes the fustration isn't so bad when you aren't there trying to "fix it" all the time, or make posts. As players we can't "fix" anything. So I say give it some time, Thanks for what you have done, and do our best to enjoy what we can. There is always fun to be had in an online game. You just have to find it. I know alot of my friends got discouraged with it, as I did, but when I stopped trying to muscle my way through it and just played it for what it is, and got into it. I had alot more fun. I dunno if this helps anyone, but it did for me.

Ok, heres a tip....why not do the poll on the forum front pagebefore you decide what to do. Ask people what they would like to see first, then work on it.
I think we can clearly see that no one is really interested in seeing your time being put into these Image Designer changes as a matter of priority. Im not saying they are a bad idea, but your just going piss people off showing stuff like this and not getting things done that really matter to the majority of players.
Even if you had started this work way back, you should have put it on hold until you had finished more important things.

TBH The holo emotes are a tad silly. But you've gotta understand that certain people may like them and this game has to appeal to a broad range of people. If you don't like them don't use them. Simple. However, I wish they'd bring out facial scars and body tattoos!

I don't know what you guys are talking about. Didn't you see in Return of the Jedi where Luke used his Holo-emote.....oh wait, it wasn't there. Hmmm, must have been A New Hope. Wait...nope, not there either.
Ok, I know it wasn't in The Empire Strikes Back. So it must have been in one of the uber-lame new ones and I'm thinking of Anakin or that idiot Gungan. Dang. Not there either.
I must be missing it somewhere. Can someone tell me where they saw holo-emotes somewhere?? And Pokemon doesn't count...
