I don't mind this at all. It will be better for the game in the long run even if it means it will suck for ID's initially. The problem with any stat driven game like this is that the devs make things overcomplicated by having tooooooo many differing stat mechanisms going on all at the same time, which opens too many areas to be exploited. This leads to lots of imbalance which is usually only made worse by the devs yet again adding in new mechanisms to the already overconvoluted system in an effort to correct the imbalances, instead of trying to take away the unnecessary stat mechanisms that brought about the imbalance in the first place.

I would be perfectly happy with a single health bar only, zero buffs, & only additional armor or forcefields as extra protection.

Instead of being number crunchers, ID's could get back to the business of designing images, & strive for new content that fits that genre, such as being able to ID vendors, or craft make-up kits & wigs, or disquises for players to use in the GCW etc.

Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee, and it is the death knell of the Image Designer profession. Unless they plan on adding a ton of new content for us, we are going to be an even rarer, and poorer, breed.

For over a thousand generations, they were the migrators of stats and the changers of hairstyles. Before the Dark Times. Before the Combat Upgrade. Now their fire has all but gone out of the Universe.

It is unfortunate that they are removing it after we just started to get used to doing migrations but, I am a firm believer that they shouldn't have been added in the first place. Placing those concerned with socializing and style as the gate keepers of min maxer's fine adjustment is pretty flawed. We will be poorer but, with fewer skillpoints and no timersI suspect that our percentage of the community should remain pretty constant. I am hoping we will eventually be able to ID vendors and have a more appropriate income, even if it is not a critical one. That being said, I don't look forward to having to be the one to explain to uninformed players that they cannot adjust their stats.

I always thought that one of the cooles part s of this game was the ability to change your stats. Changing you stats to suit your play style and needs was a great way to keep the experience different for everyone. The way it's changeing now, some players myght want to give up some health to have more moves, or to be faster. I think this is very limiting, not just to us, but to the rest of the community as well.

I'm happy with stat migrations going away. I do understand that it is a concern for Image Designers who rely on the service as their main course of income though. I do feel for you peeps but as it is a combat upgrade and not all information is out to us yet perhaps there will be something else given to us later on.

The reason why I feel happy about it is because I was an Image Designer before and after stat migrations came along. Because of them I'm more a "hidden" Image Designer now.I'll soon be able to wear my Image Designer title again without the /tells of "stat chg plz" coming in. I can walk into a cantina knowing that if anyone wants my service it's because they want to be Image Designed - I won't have to explain the fact thatI don't want to do stat changes as I don't feel like travelling to one of the few salons in the galaxy staring at a big box doing nothing, and then explaining about the no wounds thing that recently made it even worse.

Of course it was never really the stat migrations I disliked (except for when they took ten minutes), it was more the fact thatI was forced to the salons to do them.

But, I'm one of the happy ones who can't wait for them to go away - sorry.

Ooo! Good point there. With no timers and no stat migrations... what will the salons be for?

I love the little tent. The cute swirly neon sign. Just not that I had to go there to do SMs. I'd love to have one as a player city ID salon.

Meh. The CU docs aren't all posted yet. It's all still in flux. Things may change quite a bit before it goes live. I'm going to wait and see.

In the meantime, I still have fun just running around holoemoting, doing people's makeovers and trying to make the session as fun for my clients as it is for me.

I have a feeling ID will be incorperated somewhere for usage in the GCW.

I for one am feeling a bit iffy on this (and no, I have no secret information!) On the one hand, taking away any content without a replacement feels like an icky nerf, especially when combined with a skill point reduction. It sends the message "instead of giving you new content, we are going to reduce the skillpoints so that the skillpoints match existing content."

On the other hand, as far as content goes, stat migrations weren't the sort of fun content we were hoping for. We'll miss the income, but I'm not sure how much any of us will miss staring at a timer for 4 minutes. If something is implemented to replace stat migrations (though maybe not *right* away), and it's actually cool and meshes with the ID playstyle better than stat migrations, then this is a very positive change. But we have no way of knowing that now.

I am of course willing to give the CU team the benefit of the doubt but at this point I don't see any new content, just a reduction of skill points cost and the removal of timer for cosemetic changes.

Nothing new.

So basically if you aren't master ID just now, offer Stat Migrates now at 5k and grind your way up asap.

I'm not too fussed about losing stat migrations however I am very concerned that I will no longer be able to master a combat proffesion, ID and still have the amount of merchant that I currently do.

ID is being reduced by 16pts and the combat classes that are being increased are being increased by 14pts. You are actually gaining 2pts and a basic combat line.

I have always hated migrations. Now, the people who come to me for ID work will actually WANT the type of work that I enjoy. And now, the type of person who enjoys doing ID work will be the ones bothering to master the profession. I won't have some resentful boor speaking leet at me for a stat migration that he feels that he's entitled to and that I should have to do for free.

Hopefully, this will cut out a lot of the no-talent 'hacks' out there.

WHAT, REMOVING STAT MIGRATION, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I THINK THIS IS TERRIBLE, NEVER NO, I WOULD HATE THAT, THAT IS HOW I MAKE MONEY, I WAS GOING TO START A PLAYER CITY VUT WITH OUT A STEADY INCOME I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO MY DREAM IN THE GAME. IM VERRY VERRY MAD, ANGRY, SAD!!!!

ok i was notthinking, i do make some money off of stat migration, but 70% is changing peoples images, being a master this og good makes a novice im less of compitition, because they have very limited image changing abilities, and no with no xp from stat migrations. This will make i harder to master?? it would be nise to see some new content in place of stat migration but alwhell, im ok.
