Thread: Publish 9 and Image Designer change updates.

I was 4/0/1/2 Image Designer when the mini-publish went live. My progess was stopped, and I ended up giving up ID (no I wasn't hologrinding or anything either, I was enjoying the profession). It was simply too slow of a grind, it drove me nuts.

Leveling Swordsman: choose a weapon, get buffed, put on some armor, eat some food/drink, go out and kill all kinds of different animals on different planets.

Leveling ID: sit still, in a dark tent, for 10 minutes at a time, doing absolutely NOTHING but twiddling your thumbs. And that's if you have a willing partner to help level, as anyone that walks into the tent wants a Master, and won't deal with a 4012 ID

See the difference?

Anyone who takes on this profession without a holocron to tell them so (which you could assume will be ALL ID's after Publish 10) and is willing to spend that many Skill points on a totally Social and game building profession should get Master in about an hour (abuse of system not withstanding) in my opinion.

My theory on how to fix this..... BEAUTY SCHOOL!

Thats right you can attend a Master IDs beauty school to learn how to be an Image Designer.

We MIDs get exp we do not need, I try to farm out as much of my work to non-masters as possible, but there still are occasions when my services are needed. Essentially when I am at the tent I try to distribute the work to the other IDs there. If they need help or are over workedI step in andlend a hand. Due to my other business ventures (Katinga Power and Light, a division of Aegis Power Co.) I really don't need the money either. Basically I do the ID work now for fun and socializing. Developing student IDs is a great way of doing it. Now if I could just do a transfer of my excess exp to my student stylists and shampoo girls like smugglers can do with FP, it would be even better. Personally I am never going to drop MID, I like doing it, it is fun, and leaves time for a lot of socializing. So I encourage all master IDs to join me and open up their own beauty school.

Hmm, I am detecting that the exp boost in stat migrations will not affect me because I am not doing them any more.

And don't you dare blame Kwee for this screw up of yours, we all know you don't listen to her.

Edit: You leave in the part of the profession that many of us regard as torturous, take away my few remeaning customers, and expect elevator music to impress me?

The part that supprises me most is that they somehow think that increasing the exp for stat migration will make it "all better". My two harrasment CS tickets say you are not paying attention.

Exactly what he said. You spent all this time adding things and I'm willing to give ID a shot by dropping MDE which I've had for over 6 months, but the XP gain is so incredibly slow and is not in-line with anyother profession even BH. Rune: Why have you gated this content from new ID players, because the xp changes have accomplished that?

Simply put, increasing the xp for a stat migration does not remedy the horrendously slow experience system, which is grossly disproportionate to that of any other profession.

RUNE needs to listen to this as we all share this opinion to a person.

Thank you, IDs for the super cool work you do for those of us who aren't inclined to this profession. I'm glad you're out there!

  • Master Image Designers will have their timers reduced by 50% for cosmetic and physical changes outside the tent.

  • Master Image Designers will have their timers removed entirely for cosmetic and physical changes insde the tent.

Can an image designer spell this out a bit better. I'd just be a customer, but from what I can see, a Master can easily out do a non Master trying to be a Master.

This isn't really like Bounty Hunting where your droids get faster, its two people, one gives automatic service the other, with less skills, will force you to wait.

Is the balancing hopeing to happen in the way the two would charge?or that Masters are rare?

What this means is that a Master Image Designer will be able to do any appearance change anywhere just as fast as a non-master can do it in the tent. If the Master is in the tent, any appearance change will take only as long as it takes to click through the interface. If you visit the non-master in the tent, you will still have to wait. 1, 2.5, or 5 minutes depending on what you want done.

image designers and possibly tailors should be able to create discuises that can temporarily hide an overt of a faction with of course an action delay upon removing the discuise

such a discuise would be used primarily to make travel safer

imade designer and tailor discuises should should reinforce each other giving a higher bonus together than the sum of their parts

How about you guys (SOE) add what all ID'ers have been asking for all along.

MORE HAIRSTYLES (YOU SAID YOU WOULD) AND MORE TATTOOS FOR ALL SPECIES THAT CAN SHOW THEM.

Everything else is secondary, even the whole ID publish you did was secondary to this. By the way, Emotes are a joke in the game. Everyone thinks there stupid and loose the Star Warsy feel (like theres any of it left in this game).

I just hit a bunch of buttons and hope everything works out.

No ID tents for player cities yet?

This may be the wrong place to say this, but I wanted to respond.

In my opinion, there shouldn't be ID tents in player cities. If you think about it, before player cities were created, there were actually people who commoned the smaller cities on the planets. When player cities came out, people left the cities and moved out to player cities. As a resident of Tyrena on the Scylla server at the time, the place emptied right away, where it was once a nice sized town, not too busy, not too small.

Image the effect ID Tents in player cities would have? They'd greatly effect the ID tents already in place, furthering to empty them and make it even harder to find an ID in the big cities. It'd lead to a greater amount of empty tents in the galaxy.

As for Publish 9, that's awesome! I appreciate all the hard work the Devs have been doing for the ID profession. There may be things that people disagree with, but overall, their time and effort has benefitted us greatly.
