Thread: POLL: What kind of Alternative for the Salons (aka Prisons of style) would you prefer?
a) A new structure placeable by Master IDs in a player city.
or
d) An Image Design Terminal placeable by an ID so a player-structure can act as a Salon.
If the structure or terminal is placed by a master id, as a player cantina is placed by a master profession, then other ID's should be able to use it, just as they can use the tents. Migrations should be allowed by anyone who can normally perform them in a tent, just like other people can use player cantinas
I don't much care for the idea of a droid module. Privacy is considered important during some salon/spa services and using a droid out in the open just seems to counter that.
For the second question:
b) full ID-terminal functionality including stat-migration.
I'd want to be able to do everything in my shop. What's the point if I still have to travel for any services?
Finally, whatever they decide to do for this, they MUST make it so that we can register in both this structure AND in the salon tents.
D) An Image Design Terminal placeable by an ID so a player-structure can act as a Salon.
It'd be great to be able use my own house as my Salon or as mentioned, placed in the City Hall or Cantina, its a flexible idea and would suit the use of the /register command too.
and...
B) full ID-terminal functionality including stat-migration
As the terminal has ben placed into a valid structure, then it should have full ID operating capabilities and not just the timer reduction.

Hello fellow ID's!
I know Kwee did such a poll some long time ago, but alot of things have changed and we had a lot of personal fluctuations in our professions as well so I like to ask you again:
What kind of alternative for the ID-Salons would you prefer:
a) A new structure placeable by Master IDs in a playercity.
e) A Droid module acting as mobile ID-terminal.
e) A Droid module acting as mobile ID-terminal.
- although I believe salons in cities would be pretty neat, I'm not sure how many people have the lots for it, or would be willing to place it. I also much prefer mobility. With a mobile ID terminal I believe business would go up, and I wouldn't be anchored down so much to one place.
b) full ID-terminal functionality including stat-migration
- I was a bit iffy on this one, especially since I want the alternative to be a droid, however, the whole want in the droid is to be mobile. It takes away the need for the salons in cities like Theed completely, but I'm willing to accept that, especially seeing how it's fairly rare to see anyone in there when it's not peak hours.

I'm not an ID but I'm putting in my 2 cr anyway.

I would love for my friend, the best ID on our server, to be able to place her own Salon. I'm saving a nice spot with good traffic and next door to my cantina in the hope that this will happen some day. This is my selfless wish for her. /blowkiss Neith
d) An Image Design Terminal placeable by an ID so a player-structure can act as a Salon.
If A is not an option, this is my selfish wish for me: That she could place an ID terminal in my cantina and we'd all be hanging in the same place if we want.
Would you like the alternative (which ever it might be) to only reduce the timers or would you like to allow it to do stat-migrations as well?
b) full ID-terminal functionality including stat-migration
I'd love for her to be able to use any of her skills in our busy player city and at any time, without limitations.

I would wish for this terminal to be placeable in any player structure, including Cantina, City Hall and Theater. I think then we would have maximum flexibility.
This I think would be the best alternative because:
1. Most established player cities allready have nicely decorated cantinas, many with a unique style that is the pride of their community. The ability to place a new one in that same community is just asking for trouble.
2. While it would be great fun to place a Salon structure and decorate it I'm sure such a structure would take up lots that established players don't have (I myself have a large naboo house, a sorosub and a YT and no lots to spare, and I don't think I'm wrong in assuming most of you have similar problems). There are ways to work around this problem though, but I'm still against it because of reason 4, see below.
3. A droid module, though wonderfully practical, would make us even harder to find. Most importantly though, droid modules wouldn't fit in at all with the ability to register, which is also on the wish list.
4. Not everyone lives in a player city. Many prefer to place their homes in more isolated but scenic places. Many artisans also like to place shops just outside of range from major NPC cities. It would be unfair to them if player salon functions were limited to player cities.
If we had a terminal that we could choose to place in our homes or in a PC structure like cantina or theater then everyone would have the chance to find the solution that would work best for them.

Exactly what evelina said!!! I personally already have a house set up next to my shop ready to drop an ID terminal into. It is set up with accessability for 11 ID/Customer sets and 2 waiting areas. It has a "relaxation room" and a "tech room" and ive set up cameras on the ID's side of the table and "A Photographic Image" on the customer's side of the table to give a more realistic feel to the imaging window.
Using the ID Terminal option, one could make any structure ID friendly. If a city already has a cantina that is the bomb, then they can have their MID place a terminal in there to make it a Cantina/Salon w/o forcing the ID to place a structure.
And before anyone goes billy bad on me, I also believe that structures such as Cantinas, Med Centers, and Theaters should be structures placed by a politician not a profession. The politician should be able to give admin of these structures to Masters of the needed professions, but they should not take up lots for anyone. I couldnt tell you the hardship we had in CCV because the ppl who placed our theater, cantina, and med center left the game, left the structures sitting there, no one having admin ... it isnt right.
On that note, doctors have fully functioning droids that act like and sometimes better than an actual medical center. Dancers/Musicians are able to buff/heal in their own private residence (if im not mistaken - or at least they should be if not), and both can heal in camps.
I do not like the idea of a Droid, as I want a salon that other ID can use as well, even when im not around. That is the purpose of having a city structure such as cantinas and med centers.
Okay, so yeah, I would go with the idea of having a "new structure" specifically for the salon, but they would need to give us an imaging terminal as well so that we could have more flexability in our profession.
As well, they need to give architects more furniture items such as the throw pillows and exotic plants that you see in the salons.
Another idea I would love to see to pull all of the entertainer professions together is a functioning radio and view screen. Give musicians (radio) and dancers (view screen) the ability to "record" performances on these items. I know as an ID, if I had my own salon, I would love to have cantina music playing in the background and maybe a holo image of a nice dancing troup playing. I think that they should make these link to the players themselves and give them heal/xp abilities, but ive been told that the dancers and musicians dont want that. but even so, I would want items that functioned as entertainment in my salon, and this would give musicians/dancers items to sell rather than just services.
okay way off track now. but that is my 2 cents.
