Thread: POLL: What kind of Alternative for the Salons (aka Prisons of style) would you prefer?
b) Allow a Cantina to be placed by a MID and be used as a Salon. This would also allow ID's to use existing player cantinas as a salon, and maybe it would require a salon terminal within. With full functionality, including stat migrations. The timer reduction is pretty much a non-issue for makeovers, just for grinding.
However, this goes along with some other suggestions.
Allow ID's to migrate stats in the NPC cantina (replacing the tents). I get bored in the tent. Put an ID terminal in one of the side alcoves of the NPC cantina, and make the ID stand within a certain distance of it to get the benefits. That way you have a more "open salon." I'd like to see salons and cantinas integrated once again so it's more social. If multiple locations are a problem, make it so that only certain salons have the ID terminals (in teh same cities as the tents perhaps.)
A robust system of registration. This includes the ability to get a list of names of ID's who have registered so that you can "call ahead" to those on duty.

Yes, I am 100% in agreement with n'Jessi here. I have long thought that we should at the very minimum be able to have the timer reduction in Cantinas and Theaters.
Side note: I have been recently working on a new Dancer/Musician and thus spending a lot of time in the Coronet Cantina on Intrepid... and it sems like every single day someone comes into the Cantina looking for an ID... sometimes several people. One that I talked to didn't even know that the Salons existed. This is a PROBLEM! If we are going to be stuck in the Salons, then people need to KNOW about them!

Hello fellow ID's!
I know Kwee did such a poll some long time ago, but alot of things have changed and we had a lot of personal fluctuations in our professions as well so I like to ask you again:
What kind of alternative for the ID-Salons would you prefer:
a) A new structure placeable by Master IDs in a playercity.
b) Allow a Cantina to be placed by a MID and be used as a Salon.
c) Allow the theatre to be placed by a MID and be used as a Salon.
d) An Image Design Terminal placeable by an ID so a player-structure can act as a Salon.
e) A Droid module acting as mobile ID-terminal.
f) something different (any ideas are welcome of course)
And a second question I like to ask:
Would you like the alternative (which ever it might be) to only reduce the timers or would you like to allow it to do stat-migrations as well?
a) only timer reduction
b) full ID-terminal functionality including stat-migration
Don't forget, this is a poll, so please no discussions here. And please keep comments on your vote short.
Thanks

I would wish for this terminal to be placeable in any player structure, including Cantina, City Hall and Theater. I think then we would have maximum flexibility.
This I think would be the best alternative because:
1. Most established player cities allready have nicely decorated cantinas, many with a unique style that is the pride of their community. The ability to place a new one in that same community is just asking for trouble.
2. While it would be great fun to place a Salon structure and decorate it I'm sure such a structure would take up lots that established players don't have (I myself have a large naboo house, a sorosub and a YT and no lots to spare, and I don't think I'm wrong in assuming most of you have similar problems). There are ways to work around this problem though, but I'm still against it because of reason 4, see below.
3. A droid module, though wonderfully practical, would make us even harder to find. Most importantly though, droid modules wouldn't fit in at all with the ability to register, which is also on the wish list.
4. Not everyone lives in a player city. Many prefer to place their homes in more isolated but scenic places. Many artisans also like to place shops just outside of range from major NPC cities. It would be unfair to them if player salon functions were limited to player cities.
If we had a terminal that we could choose to place in our homes or in a PC structure like cantina or theater then everyone would have the chance to find the solution that would work best for them.

Honestly, if you're giving someone a makeover in the middle of nowhere with a droid, chances are you're going to have run the timer down by the time you're done anyway. The point of a droidalternative to the salon, for me, is the mobility. I get more business when I wander through a busy area, someone sees my tag, and remembers they needed an ID for something. When I'm in the Village and someone wants a stat migration, a droid would be good.
When in the middle of a buff session on an adventure planet, I'd actually be happy to spend four minutes to do a stat migration (my fee would be the same as mission payout, really), but I don't want to have to fly off to another planet to do a migration, or to look around on Dantooine, Lok, etc., for a city with a salon.
