This is nice

The only time I offer for free is because I felt bad about charging, however I want to get paid for my time and the resources (brandy and food) that I use. I will be using this plan on Starsider

You know we all work hard for our money and all of us are probably going to tweak prices a bit. You know A simply eyebrow change and lip enlargement would technically be 10k, but I may adjust that. But this is a great guideline.

I am tired of this

Guy: Can you help me?

Irys: Depends on what you need. (I mean really, I dunno what he wants, could be a mind buff, could be a stat buff which I can't do. Once I was asked to train a guy in a TKA skill I never had.)

Guy: My hair changed and new facial hair.

Irys: Yeah, I can do that.

Guy: Do you charge?

Irys: Yup. I think I can do that for about 3k. (I was tossing the facial hair in for free since I knew he'd want a non creation style and this was the old Theed price list I was using)

Guy: Alright, I'll be there in a minute.

... he comes, we get done... and "I only have 1200 credits." He gives me 1050 and leaves. Sure I got some, but the problem was I had stated the price and he was okay with it. Sure, it was better than that guy who ran off saying he had no money, then paid 10k for doctor buffs on Dathomir (that STILL bugs me you know....)

I paid for a great deal of my training. Not all of it when playing Irys, but all of it when playing Tekoa. and I do have expenses. I've never had more than 100k as Irys and never more than 300 as Tekoa. And I have a squid on Ahazi whom I tend to support as he changes professions. And now a human on Starsider. (Geeze, I've got dependants! eek!)

I did a full job on a Zab jedi who wanted to look exactly like his main (which I discovered is nigh in possible even when using the exact umbers, his nose just wouldn't get right) and when I asked the old 10k he gave me 30k and said that since a master pistoleer could get more than that in less time that I was charging too little. And you know... I'm tired of people whining about my prices when they just bought a Krayt pearl. Priorities. Either you want cool hair, or a shiney rock.I deserve to be able to pay for what I need just as much as they do.

Houses. Cantinas. Clothing. Bikes. The brandy for those tougher changes, and stat buffs as a dancer and food. Not to mention that some of us would like to hoard some cash to decorate our homes, and to buy... oh.. you know... a space ship.

We all have needs. I need the credits. You need the hair.

my prices are going to be based mostly on the amount of time taken, and my personal mood/howmuch the person anoys me, 5k probably be a minimum (unless its a freebee to a friend or entertainer, or if im feeling really nice... new player) but max would probably be 30k

As a Doc, Pistoleer, Commando, or whatever other profession, all you have to do is to go to either Theed or Coronet and shout that you need trained. I had to pay for ALL of my image designing training from a NPC trainer. At 10k for Master, 9k for all the slot 4 boxes, 8k for all the slot 3 boxes, 7k for slot 2 boxes, and 6k for the first box, that's a total of 130k credits. ((Good thing IG Hubby is a Doc, and he wired me creds.)) Im not whining about it, but that's the due to the shortage of Image Designers.

With the new changes and Stat Migration, we have to sit with one customer for 10 minutes until the stat migration changes take place. That's 10 minutes that we cant do another customer's hair, give someonea beard, or change someones body style. With the new color palette, we will have 256 colors at our fingertips. That will take a while for us to click through with an individualcustomer. We're not asking you to break the bank for a change, we're letting you know what our charges are up front. Im not saying that the prices are set in stone, we will be doing discounts and specials. And if we think that the pricing is not working, we can always to back to thetable andlook at the prices again. However, the feedback so farhas beenmostly positive.

Giveit a chance ... it hasntwent live yet.

I get your point about training costs (but I think that also reinforces the scarcity of IDs and the restrictions that will create on the general playerbase).

Im happy to leave it until its implemented, but there seems to be a bit of 'lets set a price now for stat migration' going on - as I said...50K is too high for something that the playerbase in general used to do themselves for free - you've got a new perk - all Im asking for is that you dont abuse your position - ie; -players dont have anyone else to turn to to migrate stats and the fact that there wont be many IDs around so players wont have a choice (ie; will there be an effective marketplace for these to regulate prices?....

That said, if it took you 10 mins an, during that time, you ONLY could ID the stat change - notyhing else, then I can see why 30-40k would be justified (thats about max what you could earn doing missions during this time)....BUT, if it took 10 mins per, I think there would be even less IDs willing to do this - how boring is it going to get for all IDs, and how hard would that make the service to obtain from IDs in the first place...

I can see it now

'Can you change my stats'...

'AFK auto response: Im sorry im not changing stats right at the moment'

The whole thing is half-baked if you ask me.

sorry bout this - had another thought...you also need to consider the changes to the ID XP process as well - Im happy to defer to your views that ID needs to be made 'harder', but this is also creatign another 'barrier' to entry in the short term to the ID profession (admittedly, my guess is that there will be hundreds of holo-IDs atm) - but over the long term, this makes your market position even stronger....again, pprice fixing like this, even before the changes have come in, isn't on.

perhaps you should wait until the changes are live?

I think we're all going to have to take "KP" duty and sit in tents every once in a while

Don't feel bad about Irys being poor! Tobie's never had more than 130k.

Incidentally has anyone just thought of charging for time? Charge for a set block ahead of time (3 or 5 minutes for so many credits in advance) and then for every minute afterward charge 1k or something like that?

Curious as to how this would work out (I know the public would likely take more to a low credit per unit time fee than a set fee for specific functions.)

Im all for IDs charging more, and Im glad that your finally getting the revamp you deserve(even if its not all you, or we, wanted), but charging 50K to change stats is a little excessive. 1-2k per standard ID change would be reasonable, but if your going to charge upwards of 100k for a full makeover(regardless of whether or not the customer takes 5 minutes or 30), I dont forsee many people bothering with it that often. It comes down to whether you want lots of money for the first week or two while people try the new colours and suchlike out, or if you want repeat customers over then next few months or even years.

good points everyone...I guess it just seems excessive to me...meh

btw, does anyone else think that itd be really great if the customers could browse through available options? The new 'before - after' thing is nice, but...that still doesnt solve the mystery of what we CAN have...

Me: "i want a new look"

ID: "ok, what look do you want?"

Me: "I dont know..what do you have?"

ID: "*sigh*"

Im sure lots of IDs have that problem, and im sure its quite a frustrating one..is there a website or something that shows all options, including the new ones with this latest mini publish?

EDIT: ok I just found the Lightsider Image Designs site, and it has a great layout and shows everything i needed to know..sorry for the confusion folks

Well this is an awesome price list. i am going to try to use some of it for me too. The only thing that I have to say about doing like a credit per minute is what if we only spend 2 min with someone and they want all done but stat migration. I don't know if that would work then or not. but i like that idea too.../looks around bewildered, and states---Ugh! So many things to think about and so many things to process AHHHHH my brain is on fire! lol

hello all you id'ers,

I for one am glad you are finally getting an oppertunity to 1) make some decent money and 2) provide a valuable service to the community. that said i cannot believe invaliduser made the comments he did. yes the prices are a little steep for a stat migration or for a complete make over but how often is someone going to purchase that service from a MID?

I can go through 2-10 sets of doctor buffs a night depending on what i am doing so lets do the math.

at invalidusers prices that is 24000-120000 credits, just from me in one night. and he is complaining about 50k. i can make 100k in an hour running missions, plus i can harvest for a little more. (master fencer/0-4-1-3 ranger)

i guess that i am just a little disallusioned that there are so many complaints from non-id'ers. I could list the outragious prices paid in this game for armor, weapons, doctor buffs, vehicles, food, and resources, but everyone already knows that (sarcastically) so lets notgripe about the high prices of consumables like that, letscomplain about the permanant changes an id'er can make

/cheer for all the image designers

I am a short, fat zabrak and i am that way thanks to a very sweet MID on wanderhome (dolly)
