Thread: What to do if you are harassed in game...
I guess to me the funniest thing about supposed new players getting pissed off is that Stat Migration is still instant and free on the starter Space Station. If they are brand new, tell them to delete, recreate, go through the tutorial and migrate for free.

We all know, surely, that the problem here is NOT what is charged or the fact that Image Designers have this ability.
The problem is rude people - and they should not be allowed to get away with it. I would state however that, unlike some people here, I don't consider a moan about my prices as 'harrassment' - they can moan all they want.
Doctors have the ability to buff - no-one else has it and I'm sure they get hassled on occasion (my Master Doc on Eclipse has an ignore list of people who will never get a buff from me, their loss, not mine) and we ought to have a similar attitude.
Reporting people for harrassment should be for foul language or repetitive insults that inhibit continuing on having told the person to leave you alone. You should warn the person to leave you alone or you will report them. If you /report this will be recorded and a further tirade from the person is what will seal their fate.
One point to note though, be pleasant in the first place, and tryto keep calm and not start replying unpleasant language of your own- a rude Image Designer is as bad as a rude customer...

Not only be nice for the sake of not looking rude, but if you send in a /report on harrassment the csr's look at what you said in reply as well, and WILL give your account a warning as well as the person you report. In my experience as a master doc and previous master ID even if you are screaming mad behind the screen, just dont type what you are really thinking, be nice but dont kiss butt, and they will dig their own holes that the csr's will fill in on top of them with a "black mark" on their account and since you didnt say anything rude or use rude language in reply to that person, you will be in the clear imo.
I have to say the vast majority of the customers have been very happy to pay out 8k-10k. The problem is the 2-3 idiots that have complained tend to stick in my mind. I don't really think this deserves a ticket to a CSR though. Maybe if the CSRs didn't have to waste time with tickets complaining about an immature comment some pre-teen dork made, they would have more time addressing actual problems.For you RPs keep in mind that cantinas are "the hives ofscum and villiany" so you should expect some seediness.If cursing upsets you keep the filter on. If you are being harassed by an individual /addignore. Be the better person and walk away. If everyone would do this to the griefers the greifers would go away.
The greatest thing about this game is the free-market economy and the balance it provides. Remind players that Ifthey can shell out 350k for armor, 100k for food, 10k for buffs, and millions for skill tapes and weapons they can easily shell out 10k for a stat migration. While it's a pain in the arse to have to go through this change I think this is a very positve step in the SWG and legitimizes a formerly useless profession (time to face facts).

A formerly useless profession? How so? Because it didn't help with fighting? I hate the idea that just because ID didn't directly contribute anything to the mechanics of the game, such as improving your fighting, or healing you after a fight, it must be useless.
By that logic, combat is useless. Why? Because what do you actually gain from it, at the end of the day? If SWG was shut down tomorrow, what would the combatants, the crafters, the doctors have achieved? At the end of it, what would they have got? Nothing. Except enjoyment.
The same goes for ID. It may not directly contribute to the fun gained from other professions in the same way a doctors buff might, but instead it allowed people to have fun by being creative. Just because it doesn't effect you, it doesn't make it useless.

Ok, replace useless with unecessary. That make you happy? Let's face facts;the vastmajority of players take on some sort of combative rolein the galaxy and this is the only profession that was completely alienated from every other profession.The simple fact is that IDs prior to May 12 were the most overlooked and neglectedprofession and played a very small role in the galaxy. Every other profession had something to benefit the other classes and forced a commercial trade. Prior to May 12 there is almost no way an IDcould support themselves without taking on a secondary profession. Don't nitpick, take the post as a whole-the revamp was a good thing.
I think you would feel differently if you were a female and had had some of the verbal abuse I have heard of aimed at you... Noone whoharasses female playersshould be left loose to do it again and again.

But I've heard far worse aimed at the female ID's than the male ones. No harassment should be trivialized however.
