I vote terminal.

I already have a salon in which I enjoy working. I would rather not have to relocate to a tent. But I can easily put a terminal in my salon. And while the mayor of our fair city has already told meshe will gladly make room for a tent in town, I would rather not have to substitute the tent (which I really don't like the looks of anyway) for one of our gardens (and being on Lok, we need all the green stuff we can get!).

It'd also feel a bit more 'professional' to me to have a PC Salon instead of just dropping another terminal.

They have stated that they do not intend to give us non-tent structures for quite some time. The question was do you prefer a tent much like the ones we see in the NPC cities, or would you rather have a terminal that you can put in a structure you own that would have the same effect.

The 'Tent' as you say, is still technically a Salon, check the worldmap or the Heads-Up map, and see what it's refered to as .

So I'll still call it a Salon, sorry .

To-May-toes versus To-Ma-toes I guess.

What do you feel about the Salan-that-looks-like-a-tent versus the terminal-that-makes-your-house-into-a-Salon was the question.

Just so no one else is confused...

( It seems Reiella votes tent. )

Terminals!!!

I brought this up too a while ago...having terminals be placed in houses or ID versions of player tents solves so many problems it should be embraced by both us & the devs:

1. First of all, for those that like the idea of having a player ID tent, having the terminal be an item you place separately will let you decorate your tent any way you see fit,& sparing the devs from the chore of coming up with a decoration scheme that would please us all (would never happen anyway, so why try). The devs would need to do very little as the terminals & merchant tents are already designed...& even transfering the textures etc of the new tents to a smaller merchant/ID tent should be very easy. It's a win-win!

2. Secondly, this also allows for more freedom for those that want to have home based salons or work from player cantinas or player medical centers for role-playing purposes (Plastic Surgeon Tags, etc.). And again, less work for the devs...another win-win.

Yes, but how would you like it if you could have both? Have the terminals be separate, but grant us the ability to place them in an ID tents or houses (including cantinas & med centers)?

As long as we're on the subject I wouldn't mind seeing the city tents go away & instead have the ID terminals be placed in the back room of the cantinas or in the side rooms of the med-centers in the NPC cities that never get used....the tents look so out of place & ugly in their current locations...end of rant.

I aggree with Topdog. There is so much wasted space in those cities. I would bet that most players don't even realize that the med center in Theed has three floors, never mind that the second and third floor have no furniture.

I would personally rather have a terminal that I could put in my house. The reason why is that my tailoring and image design business are the same shop and I don't have much room to place another building near Smi's square. The other reason is that I would like to have at least a little control over my salon. I live on Talus and there are not many permanent image designers there. As much as I support novice image designers, give advice for free and always train for free, I don't want everyone on Talus who wants to be an image designer taking advantage of the time bonuses in my tent. That would make for a very unprofessional atmosphere.

I would never place a tent. I would place a terminal. Ergo, I would like the terminal :

I Seriously Say Terminal all the way.

I'll start with the Tents:

First- their ugly (sorry Art Team)

Second- This is Star Wars lets make something a little more futurisitc we arent circus freaks

Third- I suffer from closterphobia in there, and I didnt even know I had it.

Pros: Uh they Arent a Big Blue Unicorn...so thats kinda good

---------

Terminals:

First- I been looking for a Interior DEcorator to come design my Large Tatooine House to be a "salon" for quite some time now and this would be icing on the cake.

Second- A Tent takes away the customization abilities I would have inside my own home.

Third- they aren't ugly like the tent.

Either way Im good my PA lives on Lok and I hate having to be in Theed all the time. I only want to play my music at the Tavern by the Cavern, and I only want to do Image Design at Chameleon Enterprises...get.it...got it...good.

BTW its called Tavern by the Cavern because my PA was lucky enough to pick the best spot for a Player City. Its right on top of an empty dungeon cave thingy, and the City Hall and Guild Hall is on top of a Giant Mesa, and the city is surrounding the Mesa. We have different sections of the city like a merchants sector and everything....its Great I really like it. You guys should make a temporary Radiant character and come out and see it. No seriously....you should

I want a player city tent just like doctors and dancers have their hospitals and cantinas. I want the same item limit and same amount of lots to own. I see no reason why this can not be done.

I think these would really add to the atmosphere of the city and create more traffic to our cities. Can't you just see an ID tent in the middle of merchant tents? Almost a gypsy atomspher..or bazaar atmosphere...very nice.

I'm torn on the debate between tents and terminals. My decision would be influenced by how many lots a tent would take up and how many items could be placed inside a tent. If it was comparable to a cantina or a theatre I might vote tent...
