I actually just checked my own settings on this, since I don't ever remember receiving a newsletter. My email address is entered correctly, and I have the box checked to "receive SWG newsletter". But I have never once received a newsletter. I have had the form filled out for several months.
Can you check into this TH? I think something's broke.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news LadyLeala, but everything on this end is functioning correctly. Are you using a hotmail type of service? Some types of free email systems screen out the email as part of their anti-spam systems.
To remedy this, we'll have the newsletter archive for you.
TH, I think you guys are being rather [dunno the word for it] about this... there have been very many people that are having this problem.... as I said above, I myself have received every mail up until the present one, which I still have not received... I have not changed my address or anything... it seems to me that something is wrong on SOE end.
about the tents and stat migration:
I've never understood why the devs always throw something small in to make everyone else hate the profession that the change is directed at............ I really think many people will despise IDs for this change, and they will also think that the IDs asked for it just like everyone thought the DEs asked for experimentation to be changed on crafting stations when that was totally unknown to the DE community, and then TH, you, even if inadvertently, make a statement that ~implies this is what the DEs wanted... you should be more carefull with your wording.
thanks, and btw I do like the ID changes in general, but I would really like to have some 'normal' stuff like what the IDs asked for: hair styles, tatoos etc.

I have to disagree. I own my own domain, and have no spam systems in place. I have also had my account connected to other email addresses at various times, and i have never recieved the email. I have recieved the forum community mailers all along (notifying of messages in subscribed threads).
Please look into this more, as many people dont recieve them, and i dont believe it is on our end...
Mabye you should put out a survey on if people actually recieve the newsletter...

On a constructive note; I think the skull Holo-Emotes would look much cool if its handle point was moved down so the skull would be around the head. So the skull's eyes are at the same level as the character's eyes.
That was what we wanted to do, but some of the character models at their max head sizes poked through the effect and swallowed up the holo-emote.
It's those darn wookiees that are to blame, isn't it.
It would be nice if you could someday make two versions, one for us normal head fokes and one for the big heads.
- Can you have more then one ready to use?
- Can you more then one at a time?
With something as prone to expolts as something that effects stat migration, is 5 days really enough time to TC it?

TH, you guys pass more bucks than the Fed!
sometimes every 3rd or 4th issue. It has been like this since beta ..
it is you not us
Ugh, that is awful.. There were SO many good things they could put in the game for ID's (and those ideas would have used up their resources) so why did they have to think up garbage like that? =\
Gee, I wonder what the kiddies are gonna be saying with the cat floating over their heads *sigh*
I really don't like to belittle the Dev's work, but come on..
As to the Star Warsy vs non Star Warsy debate:
It is one thing to have things like melee weapons, torches for light sources. Those can at least have an half-decent explanation for their existence.
But coloured holo images floating over someone's head with no projector? In the movies, there was always a pad underneath the image, or a projector (R-2) that you could see the holo emitting from. As someone mentioned the datapad, that wouldn't work unless you were holding the thing out at arm's length so the projector had a clear line of sight to the top of your head.. Nor are there clouds of nanobots floating around, this isn't Anarchy Online =P
Anyhow, I'm all for them adding content which fits into the universe. That is of course subjective but this is way out there hehe.
I find the emotes fun and a cool addition when you do parties or ceremonies and it'snot un-Star Warsy in the right context. It's the sandbox concept thatt makes this mmorpg so great, and at the same time itis double-edged.
We are offered tools and freedom, up tothe playerto use them when appropriate. Of course it will look un-Star Warsy if someone runs into the battlefield with kitties floating around is head. Like it is when someone enters the battle wearing only a boxer short or wearing a Stormtrooper helmet with an exotic leotard. In the end it's up to the player to make it feels like Star Wars (and some people and guilds are doing a very good job at it, but I guess they dont keep their time bitching over every new addition to the game)
Look, if you lot think you can do better at designing a game of this size then by all means go for it. Then we can have a go at your work. Until you DO at least make it constructive criticism. The devs have put a lot of work into this game and frankly quite a few of you seem to think that the £10 you pay isn't to play the game but to insult people...Well erm NAH! Just give it a rest.
As for this being "UnStar-Warsy" who here can say that they know everything about the Star Wars Galaxy? Hmmmm? There's a **edit** load of stuff no-one's ever seen that would have probably existed in the SW Universe. I for one look forward to this.
