Thread: Friday Feature Bonus: Understanding Skill Modifiers, Attachments and Enhancements

This thread really shows why it's a bad thing to have powergamers that play the game and troll the forums all day.
Thunderheart took the time to assemble a small guide regarding skill tapes. Please remember that Thunderheart was never a developer of the game. Also, please remember that the Thunderheart does not have access to the developers 24/7 for every little question about the game he might have.
So, he posts this guide to try and help people out who may not have any idea what a skill tape is, or may have looted a couple and have no idea what to do with it.
Then you jackasses have to come in and try to justify your meaningless avatars ...
"How do I cram 2 +5 weapon experimentation tapes into a robe that my guild gave to me? I also added a +5 uber nerd tape, and because of alphabetical order, the weaponsmith tapes aren't sticking! Waah! Waah!"
Thunderheart may not understand the little glitches here and there concerning tapes combining and whatnot, so please respect that not everyone in SWG plays this game as religiously as you do. He already told you, he is going to get the answers to these questions as soon as he can schedule time with the appropriate dev. So, just sit back, and shut up.

The community has been under the impression that only one counts (like if you have a tape that has + to accuracy and + to speed only the higher one will take effect) Can you please clear this up?Yep. I'm going through the questions and follow up now
I'll gather up the questions, but it may take me some investigation work to get to the bottom of some of it (which is my goal here). I'm hoping the thread can become more positive so I can work with the team on specific issues.
Specific questions and descriptions would be helpful.
TH, it's difficult to be positive when these issues have existed since the game launched. I lost 3 million credits on a skill tape because I didn't realize that if you try to install a skill tape into a piece of clothing that has an identical skill mod already attached to it that only the highest skill mod shows up.
We might not be so bitter if CSR's were permitted to reimburse us for these kind of bugs, but instead we are told there is nothing that can be done, and you've just watched a lot of time and effort go down the drain for nothing.
When this Feature was published with so many glaring errors it basically says to all of us that the DEV's aren't reading our /bug reports or there is a major breakdown in communication here that is seriously effecting the quality of the game.
I understand that the Dev team has many issues they must work through at any given time, but I also believe that even if these type of bugs can't be fixed quickly then the best short-term solution would be to publish a "Known Bug" list that players can refer to in order to avoid some of the more common bugs. Instead, you post the exact opposite of a known bug list and encourage players to use SEA's in ways that will actually cause the player to waste or lose the tape.
I don't blame you TH, but there is a major breakdown in communication between yourself and the Dev team that needs to be addressed, as these incidents seem to be happening more frequently.

I like to jab TH as much as the next guy, but some of you people seriously have no class whatsoever.
How about trying to be minorly polite in your criticisms.

I realise it is off topic, but when are the Top 10 Questions going to be finished????????
They are not on a schedule.
Once we get through some of the other key things, Ill post em, but there is no rush on those.
((Were the Top 5 on a schedule? The Dancers haven't gotten their responses to those yet, much less the Top 10, even after multiple promises. Apologies for the off topic post, but even our Correspondent can't get a response on this.))

Please don't let this issue die. It is the unstackability and general unusability of SEA's that is currently destroying the multi-galaxial economy, much as holocrons were doing before Christmas. Please just get the devs to fix the system so that it works as the Friday Feature says it should (ASAP). And more importantly, keep us up to date on the documentation regarding HOW these important items function.

I understand and agree. Its going to take a bit, but Im giving it a lot of attention. That means talking to programmers, developers and a slew of people to get to the bottom of things. The good news is that we have a dev tool that is almost finished and we'll be able to spawn the tapes and other skill enhances. This will make it easy for me to do some tests with the correspondents.

LOL! Milk... through the nose... can't stop laughing...
I can just picture TH at the bottom of the cave every 30 mins...
*click*click*click*click* "Darn, how'd that guy get the tape before me!"
