Here's an idea Thenderheart...Tell the Devs to skip the diddly pacifer quests like the Life Day quests and build some content in the game. This mind numbing repetition the devs have come up with is killing a good thing. The devs have mistaken Tedious with Challenge.


Look at your galaxy populations... IT HAS SERIOUSLY DROPPED. Why? because players are looking for better content in other MMORPGs that won't bore them to death. Will they be back? Only time will tell andI hope they do.


Ihope the Star Trek MMORPG due out by the end of next year is not the last nail in the SWG coffin, As it stands now WOW and EQ2 have done a good job of taking away the SWG player base. What is so bad about this is SWG has sooo much potential but SOE is squandering it.

star trek is not due out by end of next year its due out in 2007 the beta starts end of next year.

The only holiday event are the LIfe Day events, but I encourage everyone to check them out. There is a robe, paintings, and the orb that players can get.

Well if that is the case...Look for SWG combat rebalance to kick in about that time....They will have no choice in the matter if they want to keep this ship afloat.

Yes,we get life day!!!! What better way to celebrate a broken game than by celebrating a day that George Lucas refuses to acknowledge evenexists lol... Nice going. Pulling an event from the Star Wars Holiday Special is fitting for this. Two projects that have the Star Wars name associated but don't follow Star Wars at all shy of a few famous character name drops.


I find it amusing that we can gather in one spot for "life day" but if we gather for combat the server crashes and we are all booted. Lol.... and anything that crashes a server and interrupts gameplay is deemed a violation of TOS... it seems we do get a holiday gift. A big steaming pile of BS... The same gift we have gotten every month...


Straw + camels back = cancel account. Merry Christmas to me. I just saved $45 a month now!!


It's funny that people are complaining about holidays being non star wars. Tons of Jedi walking around in this time frame is wrong. A rifleman/cm uber character is wrong, crap professions are wrong, stupid names of characters are wrong... NO GCW IS WRONG!!!!


This game is already ruined, let people celebrate xmas if they want without bitching about it.

I would have liked it a lot better if I hadn't gotten one of those "orbs".


They are on every street corner for 50K these days (I know some people sell them for much more, but I see them available at this price all the time).


People that got the orb got kind of shafted - so yes, I'd agree with the person above who said it was like getting coal in your stocking.


If it had been only the paintings it would have been an "even" trade - if someone offered to trade me one of those utterly common orbs for a painting, I'd laugh at them. The difference is that the Orbs were already in-game, these paintings are not.


At least with the Bestine elections you can do it again next cycle; now the only choice for orb people is to try to trick someone into thinking it's valuable and buying it, and then spending a million bucks or more to get a painting.


As to the Christmas/Life Day thing, I'm TOTALLY pleased they do it this way. Forget about arguing about who celebrates what IRL - this is a game in the STAR WARS universe, and having Christmas in the game would totally ruin the "star warsy" feeling we all say we want so badly.

They give us headaches and to them that isgift enough. Whining about not getting something or getting something dumb for free is really pathetic. Arguing over the SWG forums about religion in a science-fiction or fantasy GAME is pretty pathetic too. Just deal with it people. Deal with the game as it goes and if the Devs decide to celebrate a certain holiday in-game then so be it. If you want to be heard be heard with your wallet. If the combat upgrade doesn't satisfy, then I'm gone. Simple as that...

The devs like quests because it gives someone something to do, even if its only for 10 minutes. Everyone who is complaining about the devs not handing out giftsare selfish and greedy and should quit coming here to complain and go find another game to hate.


The wookie life day thing was cool, put together well and should be enough of a gift for everyone. Just because they didnt put Christmas in front of it doesnt mean it wasnt a christmas gift. If you need something more from the game, do your self and all of us a favor and unplug for awhile
